What an honor and pleasure it was to speak with Ingrid about her role in this fantastic found footage movie! This being her very first interview in regard to that movie makes this a very special episode indeed! One that you would not want to miss! With her playing Lilly in the movie, she has definitely found herself immersed in in a film that brings a unique spin on found footage horror and it is a way to creep into our souls, so to speak. Although I am not surprised how well this movie did in the theaters with her “what should be” an Oscar performance is exactly what it is. She explained how well she was engaged in her role and how she prepared for it. Her answer is original and unique, and I believe that from now on, every casting director should point to her and have an auditioning actor watch Ingrid in this movie for reference. Not only did Ingrid perform extraordinarily well, but she also went beyond what was expected of her and it's exceptional. Overall, I wouldn't have this movie rewritten at all. Keep it the way it is, no one should be replaced, and all of the actors definitely deserve the recognition. In hopes that this movie will bring future auditions for Ingrid, I believe that she will be the next Linda Blair and part of The Golden Era of exorcisms and possessions. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/southjerseyhorror/message

My guest today worked for Club Med in 1989 in St. Lucia and Cancun as an Excursions G.O. We do not get many Excursion G.O.s on this podcast, so I am thrilled she agreed to come on and share her story. When she was in college, she worked at an archeological Museum, which helped with the excursions to the Mayan ruins in Mexico. From the city of Brotherly Love, please help me welcome, Rose Torelli! Before Club Med, Rose learned French in high school and visited Quebec and France. In her second semester in her junior year of college, Rose spent that time abroad in Paris and stayed with a French family. Prior to Club Med, Rose worked in New York City in PR in the fashion industry for Pierre Cardin, when she applied to Club Med at twenty-three years old. Rose details the excursions that both St. Lucia and Cancun offered in 1989. As much as I enjoy it when things go as planned, I asked Rose if she ever had an excursion go awry and one did, while she was on a snorkeling trip to Cozumel. As an Excursion G.O., they are not often in the village, but rest assured, she still did her share of Crazy Signs and shows! Rose also lets us know why her favorite excursion was the one to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and she explains the meaning behind the G.O. t-shirt, “Cancun II- Better Than Never!”. Rose took what she learned in Club Med when she later worked for an International Marketing Manager in a French-owned company and handled relations with affiliates all over the world. Please enjoy this episode with Rose! **My First Season podcast has always been ad-free and free to listen to and is available to download on: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Samsung Podcasts, Podbean App, Podchaser, Spotify, Amazon Music/Audible, TuneIn + Alexa, iHeartRadio, PlayerFM, Pandora and Listen Notes. Music: The Second movement of Torelli's trumpet Concerto in D (Etienne), plus an improvisation on the theme. Musicians: Philippa Barton, Helen Rees, Julian Chan, Jo Garcia, (strings) James Horsfall (keyboard) Solzhenitsyn wrote, ‘The line dividing good and evil cuts through the hearts of every human being, and which of us is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?' Make us willing to face the things we need to face. Help us to overcome evil not just by avoiding infringing specific laws, but by being diligent in seeking You. May no pressures from within or without blunt our zeal for You. Lord, deliver us from evil. Confound confusion and scatter all the powers that are arrayed against us. Increase the flow of trust and the spirit of prayer within our hearts. “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me," declares the Lord. We pray for those whose days are spent in close proximity to scheming people and corrupt and evil systems. Remind and reassure them that their present condition will not last for ever, that You will find a way to break the chains that bind them and set them free. In their loneliness, draw near. Keep them from inner confusion and alienation. Help us not to be gullible in the face of evil, Lord, but to recognise it clearly for what it is – even if that means admitting that we ourselves have been at fault. Help us to avoid excuses and denials which hinder Your work of truth.

The Scriptures speak of a wonderful river of life in Heaven that is brim full of vitality and healing. This is an invitation to contemplate the river, and to picture it in our minds and spirits. It is set to beautiful music from Torelli's Etienne Concerto, and the improvisation that follows it. Music Torelli: Trumpet Concerto in D - ‘Etienne' 2nd movt Musicians: Philippa Barton, Helen Rees, Julian Chan, Jo Garcia, James Horsfall The closer we get to God the more we discover that there is nothing but life and vitality in Him. It is impossible to express either in words or on paper, the full sense of vitality His close presence brings, or how utterly strong and beautiful His angels are, so full of light and spiritual vim, uncorrupted as they are by the least trace of sin or death. Fill us and all Your people with this sense of vitality, Lord, just as each river brings life to the towns and settlements that spring up around it, its whole length long. May many be touched by those who are endued with the true anointing of Your Spirit, because they have taken time and delight to feast on the abundance of Your house, and to drink from Your river of delights. (Ps. 36:8) Most rivers reach their journey's end when they flow into the sea, of course, but in Heaven the river of life flows continually on, full of life and vitality. This is the river of the water of life that the angel showed John, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, right down the middle of the main street of the city, where His servants serve Him and reign with Him for ever. And it is there that John sees the Tree of Life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month, whose leaves never wither, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit never fails and is used for food, just as their leaves are for the healing of the nations. (Rev. 22:1-2; Ez. 47:9,12) Wherever the river flows, there will be swarms of living creatures and a great number of fish, because it flows there and makes the waters fresh; so wherever the river flows, everything lives and flourishes. Let's picture this river in our hearts, and how it will be, and come to the Lord of this river for healing and refreshment.

For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised. The Lord made the heavens; splendour and majesty are before Him; strength and joy fill His dwelling! (Adapted from 1 Chronicles 1: 25-27) The Music: The first movement of Torelli's beautiful Trumpet Concerto in D (Etienne) Musicians: Anthony Thompson, (trumpet) Shirley Richards, Helen Rees, Julian Chang, Jo Garcia (strings), James Horsfall (keyboard) Lord, thank You that genuine fun and simple pleasures are a powerful antidote against all gloom and despondency. Thank You that even a smile can make such a difference. A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Thank You, Lord, that a joyful church is a brilliant witness to outsiders. Grant us deep contentment, Lord, in simple things – and help us to remember the good things You send our way, every day. May the joy of the Lord be our strength.

Join Marissa Martino and Laura Monaco Torelli for a conversation about cooperative care. Laura has a ton of experience working with many different species, teaching and training them complex, difficult behaviors. I had the pleasure of working with her on cooperative care techniques with Sully as he aged. Her compassionate approach towards the dog and the caregiver is amazing. During this episode, we discuss what cooperative care looks like, how to support the dog, and how to support the caregiver.
As our tribute, prayer and celebration of the Queen's gift to the nation, here is a superb piece of music we recorded recently. After a short and solemn march, the four trumpets in this Sinfonia in C by Giuseppe Torelli, sound out their glorious proclamation. This is a very special episode for this podcast as Laura Monaco Torelli joins me to share her personal and poignant experience from a traumatic dog attack that occurred two years ago. I want to thank Laura for trusting me as a friend and colleague to have a safe space to talk about the terrifying events from that day. I also want to give a trigger warning for this episode as we discuss a dog attack that resulted in injuries to both Laura and her beloved dog Vito. We don't often discuss the impact on victims of dog bites, so our hope is that this show will provide some solace that you are not alone. If you have experienced trauma from a dog bite incident, there is help available, and there is a link below for emotional and crisis support.Laura's WebsiteAmerican Psychology AssociationAPA Psychologist LocatorIf you want to learn more about helping dogs with aggression, we offer webinars, courses, conferences, and more!AggressiveDog.comAggressive Dog Educational OfferingsAggression in Dogs Conference
