We bought a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy AWD for our test program—Hyundai's first model to use its new hybrid system based on a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder. We share our first impressions of this three-row family hauler, covering performance, fuel economy, interior space, cabin luxury, daily usability, and how the hybrid stacks up against the gas-only Palisade. Plus, we answer viewer questions about our All-Season vs. All-Season SUV tire ratings and whether Nissan's "Zero Gravity" seats deliver real comfort or just marketing hype. The main creator of Obamacare claims it was a success BUT it just needs a few adjustments, oh ok. Do you ever wonder what happened to the people of the Palisade fires in LA? Well, it's almost a full calendar year and the local and state government are still fighting about rebuild fees, but hey, Governor Newsom is too busy to help because he's running for president. Plus, Ilhan Omar just makes things worse in Minnesota, Joy Reid continues to hate America, Jasmine Crockett running for Senate, Adelita Grijalva caught lying, and so much more on a Monday morning. She discusses the latest vehicle redesigns from various manufacturers, highlighting the Nissan Armada and Murano, Toyota's Grand Highlander, 2026 Hyundai's Palisade, 2026 Subaru Crosstrek and 2026 Outback, and the 2026 Honda Passport. LeeAnn emphasizes the importance of usability testing for potential car buyers and shares her thoughts on the evolving automotive landscape, including electric vehicles and family-friendly features.TakeawaysThe Nissan Murano's new design is more appealing and less niche.Toyota's Grand Highlander offers spaciousness and hybrid options, making it a strong contender. The Hyundai Palisade's redesign has some usability quirks that may disappoint buyers.Subaru's Crosstrek and Outback received significant updates, with the Crosstrek now offering a hybrid model. The Toyota Crown Signia lacks the premium feel expected at its price point. The Honda Passport's design is attractive, but it falls short in comfort and off-road capability.Usability testing is crucial for potential car buyers to ensure the vehicle fits their lifestyle. You can view a full list of resources and episode transcripts here. Priscilla Walker, current Vice Chairman and Founding Chairman of the Palisade Historical Society (historicpalisade.org), tells the fascinating story of how she and a dedicated team of volunteers pulled off an enormous effort to quite literally save history in 2014 when they kept 111 years of issues of the Palisade Tribune from destruction.

In recent times we’ve seen an onslaught of new Chinese models and what seems like a continuing reduction in prices as the competition becomes more intense. By comparison the Korean brands, once cheap and cheerful have climbed up the pricing ladder – Hyundai has just launched a new generation 8-seat Palisade family SUV in one hybrid Calligraphy grade for $89,900 – a $14,000 leap in price over the previous Calligraphy Palisade – highly equipped and finished but one wonders how much the family vehicle market will accept such massive leaps in price. I’m also driving the new Hyundai Ioniq 9 an electric seven-seat luxury SUV, also in one high spec Calligraphy grade – beautifully finished but at $119,750 one wonders if a Hyundai can carry such an exalted price – time will tell I guess but it’s not expected to be a big seller.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The November 5 edition of the AgNet News Hour struck a chord with California farmers and voters alike as hosts Nick Papagni and Josh McGill welcomed Don Wagner, candidate for Secretary of State of California, to discuss the state's leadership crisis, water mismanagement, and the fight to restore common sense to Sacramento. Wagner, currently serving in Orange County and endorsed by former Secretary of State Bill Jones and former Governor Pete Wilson, said the same thing many Californians are feeling: “The problems in this state are entirely man-made.” He pointed to decades of political gridlock and poor decision-making that have crippled business, agriculture, and infrastructure. “We don't have a resource problem,” Wagner said. “We have a government problem. It's bad policy, not bad luck, that's hurting California.” He emphasized that water is at the center of nearly every issue facing the state. “We have simply failed to manage our water supply,” Wagner said. “The Central Valley, one of the most productive agricultural regions on earth, is being shortchanged by people who don't understand farming.” He called out unbuilt water storage projects, overregulation, and a lack of urgency. “Fifteen years after passing bonds, the projects still aren't built. That's government failure, plain and simple.” Wagner also stressed the importance of electing leaders who understand agriculture. “Farming is California's backbone, and it's been ignored by politicians who've never set foot on a farm,” he said. “If you don't understand how food is grown, you can't govern a state that feeds the world.” Beyond agriculture, Wagner called for restoring election integrity and rebuilding trust in California's business environment. “We're the last state to report results every election cycle,” he said. “That's unacceptable. We need free, fair, and transparent elections — and we need to make it easier to do business here, not harder.” The conversation also touched on the recent Palisade fires and failures in urban emergency planning. Wagner said his experience on the Orange County Fire Authority Board taught him the importance of local preparation. “We used that tragedy as a learning opportunity,” he explained. “We created what we call the heli-hydrant — a water source for helicopters to dip and dump faster during wildfires. That's the kind of practical, local innovation California needs more of.” When asked about the upcoming Proposition 50, Wagner warned that the measure could silence rural California. “If it passes, it could cut rural and conservative representation in Congress by more than half,” he said. “That's not reform — that's erasure. Central Valley farmers deserve a voice, not a footnote.” Wagner closed with optimism, saying he believes California can return to greatness. “This is a fixable state,” he said. “We just need leaders with courage, honesty, and common sense. California can be golden again.” Papagni and McGill agreed, calling Wagner “a steady, thoughtful voice in a noisy political climate.” Papagni added, “We need calm leaders who actually understand how to fix things, not just talk about them.”

HOW WOULD FREE TRADER REAGAN RECOGNIZE THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION? 6/8 Reagan: His Life and Legend Hardcover – September 10, 2024 by Max Boot (Author) https://www.amazon.com/Reagan-Life-Legend-Max-Boot/dp/0871409445 The story begins not in star-studded Hollywood but in the cradle of the Midwest, small-town Illinois, where Reagan was born in 1911 to Nelle Clyde Wilson, a devoted Disciples of Christ believer, and Jack Reagan, a struggling, alcoholic salesman. Boot vividly creates a portrait of a handsome young man, indeed a much-vaunted lifeguard, whose early successes mirrored those of Horatio Alger. And contextualizing Reagan's life against American history, Boot re-creates the world in which Reagan transitioned from local Iowa sportscaster to budding screen actor. The world of Hollywood from the 1930s to the 1950s would prove significant, not only in Reagan's coming-of-age in such classics as Knute Rockne and Kings Row but during the twilight of his film career, when he played opposite a chimpanzee in Bedtime for Bonzo, and then his eventual emergence as a television host of General Electric Theater, which established his bona fides as one of the leading conservative voices of the time. Indeed, the leap to California governor in 1966 seemed almost preordained, in which Reagan became a bellwether for a nation in the throes of a generational shift. Reagan's 1980 presidential election augured a shift that continues into this century. Boot writes not as a partisan but as a historian seeking to set the story straight. He explains how Reagan was an ideologue but also a supreme pragmatist who signed pro-abortion and gun control bills as governor, cut deals with Democrats in both Sacramento and Washington, and befriended Mikhail Gorbachev to end the Cold War. A master communicator, Reagan revived America's spirits after the traumas of Vietnam and Watergate. But Boot also shows how Reagan was armored in obliviousness. He traces Reagan's opposition to civil rights over forty years, reveals how he neglected the exploding AIDS epidemic, and details how America experienced a level of income inequality not seen since the Gilded Age. 1940 PALISADE
