Today we discuss A Free Quarren in the Palace: Tessek's Tale. It tells the story of the Quarren Tessek, who has appeared in several of the stories throughout this collection. Like many other characters at Jabba's Palace, he dreams of and plots Jabba's death. He actually has a plan to kill the Hutt that will take place the next day. There's just one problem: a certain Jedi shows up and disrupts things.

"Now hear this. Now hear this. On this week's episode of Kirking Off we are introduced to a leather-gloved Janeway who appears to be a lot more ruthless than the Janeway we all know. Come to find out this iteration of Janeway and the Voyager crew is just an interpretation of history, and we are 700 years in the future watching a museum presentation done by a Kyrian historian named Quarren. Quarren believes, based on very thin evidence, that Janeway and the Voyager crew were mass murderers who used the conflict between the Kyrians and Vaskans for their own gain. This assumption is challenged when The Doctor is reactivated and tells Quarren about the Janeway that we all know to be good. This idea of revisionist history prompts a lot of great discussion from the lads. They discuss history as presented as fact, history as presented from a bias point of view, history as something that informs us and the real possibility that it is based on lies, misinformation, or simple incompetence. The lads get into historical figures and how they are celebrated or maligned based on what people want to focus on. They discuss the concept of heroes and what they really may look like if examined closely. Dean talks comedians and how we are all dumb, Brian brings up children's history versus adult history, and Nathan goes full They Might Be Giants. We present to you, "Living Witness", from Star Trek: Voyager." We buck convention and produce a recap podcast that is shorter than the source material this week! Closing Crawl produces propaganda for the monarchy this week, in exchange for a boatload of eels as we put another squid on the barbie and heads down under the sea. There is dissension on Mon Cala between the "aggressive squid-like Quarren" and "their peaceful neighbors the Mon Calamari". The Mon Calamari king of the planet has been assassinated, and his son, Prince Lee-Char, is young and untested. The Quarren indicate a preference for self-determination, but the Mon Calamari let them know rules are rules, and the rules are male-line primogeniture. With civil war now inevitable (question mark?), the Republic sends a clone company led by Kit Fisto and Ahsoka Tano. But the Quarren, backed by Dooku and the Separatists attack first! Tamson tries to kill Lee-Char and fails, and the Quarren retreat for the day. But then they come back with their new super-weapon, Hydroid Medusae! Which are giant cyborg jellyfish. The Mon Calamari cannot beat electrical tentacles, so they retreat to a cave system.Chocki is getting chewed out by Dooku for letting Lee Char escape because the writers room doesn't understand ‘show, don't tell'. Dooku then advocates for internment camps for the Mon Cal in a direct ball kicking to our theory of moral equivalence between the Republic and Separatists. Kit Fisto requests help from his own Space Time (™) with Mace and Yoda. Ackbar continues to Peter Principle poor Lee Char and somehow everyone is cool with that. Meanwhile Yoda stumbles on the idea of conscription, and Obi Wan suggests the Gungans because he's petty. Kit Fisto uses the dreaded rear admiral on some Quarren to steal their mini sub for his less moist peers. Lee Char goes into hiding. The Gungans are concerned, but Jar Jar convinces everyone that Padme ‘helped' them suggesting that Gungans are part goldfish, and they promptly decide to jump into the meat grinder of Padme's poor judgment. Kit Fisto is excited to see Gungans because it means the post victory orgy just got interesting. I can't think of any other reason anyone would be relieved to see Gungans. Chocki uses a cyclone in a bottle from the local children's museum to brutalize the Mon Cal and Gungan forces. Everyone but Ahsoka and Lee Char are captured. We open on Padme, Jar Jar, Anakin, and Kit Fisto being interrogated by Biff Tannen, er, Riff Tamson. The prince and Ahsoka come up with a plan to free the prisoners. Meanwhile, Tamson breaks Padme's helmet to encourage Anakin to talk. The prince believes that Ri will join the Mon Cal to overthrow the separatists and Tamson… and he's right. At just the right time, the Quarren, Mon Cal, Gungans, and clones all fight back against the droids and sharks. The prince kills Tamson by shooting an explosive he stuck in his shoulder… and OH GOD!!! That's a floating, decapitated head!?! Surf's up! The first arc of Season 4 of the Clone Wars has our faves swimming with the fishes. We're introduced to yet another teenage monarch — Prince Lee-Char — who's navigating a civil war between the Mon Calamari and Quarren and orchestrated, as always, by Count Dooku. Kit Fisto is glorious, Padmé and Anakin are mostly there to be threatened with drowning, Ahsoka does Anakin's job from Attack of the Clones ten times better than he ever did, and the Gungans absolutely saved the day. In a special segment, we also answer a burning question left over from the Ahsoka Hunted arc: What happened to the Force-sensitive younglings abandoned to be hunted by the Trandoshans, Jinx and O-Mer? Watching along with us? Next week, we're hanging out with the Gungans again in “Shadow Warrior” (The Clone Wars 4.4). --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/growingupskywalker/message

Alun R facilitates a one-shot of 'Against the Sith Conspiracy' as part of a weekend of games celebrating the 3rd anniversary of Rich Rogers’ Star Wars Saturday. This session was organised as part of the Gauntlet RPG Community’s monthly calendar (www.gauntlet-rpg.com). Episode VII.5: General Leia Organa calls on EG-A, the force ghost haunted droid, Chan Brohrk the pilot, who is … difficult to pigeon-hole; Mori Pelona the guilt ridden former Imperial tech; and Papa Charmtalker, an agent forced out of retirement because … well, Leia doesn’t have much choice. Word is that the Level 1313 Fookpaw crime syndicate fronted by a droid, but run by former ISB Agent Dal Voka, might be a proxy for a mysterious Sith Conspiracy. There are missing Jawa, a captured Quarren, and a Gundark arena with a back entrance. Then … stuff happens …

Before (or after) he was a spokesman in Coke commercials, spinning tunes as a virtual VJ, or even a TV talk show host, Max Headroom was the iconic example of artificial intelligence (well, perhaps computerized charisma) brought to “life” by a scan of Edison Carter’s brain and 3D imaging of Matt Frewer’s head and shoulders. This week’s episode is a tribute to Max Headroom with a lot of excitement about upcoming Star Wars opportunities in the near future. In the NEWS… D23 has happened without TR3N news, any mention of The Black Hole or Something Wicked this Way Comes remakes, reboots, or sequels, but lots of Star Wars updates which may or may not include the following TechnoRetro Facts: See Jefferson Starship on the Galactic Starcruiser as you travel through hyperspace to Galaxy’s Edge. The Rise of the Resistance ride is coming soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland complete with Force-wielding kids shoving aside stormtroopers with their minds. See how a squid-headed Quarren meets with danger in our first real look at The Mandalorean. The Rise of Skywalker seems to present multiple opportunities to walk over rises in topography to reveal various vistas with the heroes of the sequel trilogy. Although we still don’t know if Ewan McGregor will portray Carl Jung on film, we are fairly certain he will reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in an upcoming series on Disney+. James Arnold Taylor is rumored to appear as either OB-2 or OB-6 in the new show. Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future JediShua and shazbazzar watch the complete Max Headroom TV series from 1987 and explain the origin(s) of this iconic computer-generated character who continues to be a familiar face (and simulated stutterer) more than thirty years later. Welcome to episode 56.1 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Burning Seas. On this Scoundrels Special Edition, Dennis and Darth Taxus dive into the recent issues of Darth Vader and discuss the "Burning Seas" story arc. The Emperor grows tired of the galaxy speaking with multiple voices and seeks the elimination of the Imperial Senate so that only his voice dictates the will of the Empire. However, making such a change isn't so easy. Therefore, he sends an Imperial fleet to Mon Cala to make an example of the rebellious planet. In addition, he senses the influence of the Jedi in Mon Cala's affairs. Naturally, he sends Darth Vader and his Inquisitorious to handle the situation. Indeed, there is a Jedi involved. Dennis and Darth Taxus discuss whether this Jedi lives up to the Jedi ideal. Or, has this Jedi adopted methods the Jedi Council would frown on? What are the motives of this Jedi, and do the ends justify the means? Plus, what memories does returning to Mon Cala surface for Darth Vader? In addition, what do these stories say about Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin's relationship? Finally, Tarkin has interesting thoughts on what it means to be an Empire.
