Qantas has unveiled a massive shake-up to its frequent flyer program, adding 20 million new seats per year. The “Classic Plus” seats will cost more than the existing 5 million annual “Classic Rewards” seats, but will be more reliably available to passengers looking to spend their hard-earned frequent flyer points. Adam and Jake discuss the pros and cons of the new scheme, and whether it will endear the Flying Kangaroo to its loyalty customers. Plus, just when you thought it was safe to go back to Whyalla, the “Rexit” saga takes a dramatic new twist…

Tim Quilty MP is the Member for Northern Victoria in the Legislative Council. He joined me for a live watch party of Acting Premier Dan Merlino's lockdown 4.0 announcement for Melbourne. Throughout this interview Tim advocated for the creation of a new state in the Federation of Australia – ‘Murray' which is to be comprised of regional VIC and regional NSW. The plan is being called ‘Rexit' for ‘Regional Exit' and arose after regional populations felt that state governments are increasingly urban-centric which causes a collapse of regional centres. --------------------------------------------- Learn about REXIT: https://www.facebook.com/RexitRegionalExit https://www.rexit.org.au/ Follow Tim Quilty MP: https://www.timquilty.com.au/ https://www.facebook.com/TimQuiltyMLCNorthVic https://www.instagram.com/tim_quilty_mlc_northernvic/ https://twitter.com/TimQMLCNorthVic Watch this interview on Youtube: https://youtu.be/TJTSTjJmf20 --------------------------------------------- 0:26 Victoria's Lockdown 4.0 3:43 Border closures and how rural communities are affected 6:35 Learning to live with Covid-19 9:25 What is Rexit? 12:18 How to create this new state 17:08 Timeline for Rexit 18:45 Irrigation along the Murray River 25:50 ‘Flyover states' 27:43 Raising country speed limits to 140kmh 29:25 Negative Rights vs Positive Rights 34:46 Does Tim like being a politician? 37:53 The alcohol culture in parliament 40:15 Sci-fi and Tim's favourites 44:45 LDP putting forward new bill to limit SOE powers 47:10 Penalties for breaches of the SOE powers 50:33 Why put up a bill if it is going to lose? 51:08 How to support the new LDP Bill to limit SOE powers 53:28 What are the crossbenchers like behind the scenes? 56:07 Is Classical Liberalism dying in Australia? 58:20 Urbanised populations love regulation 1:00:35 What is the strongest argument against Rexit? 1:02:35 Suburban house prices vs regional house prices 1:04:03 What would Tim do with a magic wand?

Wow, what's happening with these Iranian protests is amazing. We have the latest on that and what President Trump had to say over the weekend. And the Queen has called a family meeting to avoid "Rexit." Wait until you hear what Prince Harry is asking for.
Boy oh boy, by the reaction from Congress and the Senate, you would think we were actually at war with Iran. We have the details there. And it's Rexit! Huge controversy in England as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce their royal exit.

http://thecomedycast.com/ Hello and welcome back to The Comedy Cast; today you’ll be hearing from English stand-up comedian and satirist, Tiernan Douieb. We kick off the interview with me telling Tiernan about how I sacrificed a Pavlova date to be with him and then we get into where he gets his awesome name from. Usually with the podcasts I tend to wait until towards the end before speaking about guests' podcasts, but with Tiernan I wanted to get straight into it. Tiernan has a really mighty podcast every week called Partly Political Broadcast. If you have any interested in British politics at all you should subscribe to it because it's pure mighty. He mixes satire, gags and serious topics absolutely brilliantly so it was really mighty to speak to him about the podcast. Of course, because the podcast is politically motivated we delved into British politics. We bitch about Theresa May and the Conservatives, Brexit, and the upcoming Scottish dilemma. The lies on a 'massive effing bus' gets a mention as well and Tiernan reveals exactly why he started his podcast and how it helps him to make sense of what's happening in UK politics at the minute. We talk about why voter apathy is large among young people and some of the solutions to it. Tiernan brings up Rexit, it involves robots! We chat about Tiernan's first gig, how he was so excited that he couldn't sleep even after it, he also tells me one of the jokes he did that night. We speak about him doing a comedy course and how when doing it he knew that comedy was what he wanted to do in his life. We also discuss the thin line between exaggeration and bullshit and how the best comedians thread that line.
