At the start of the Knesset's winter session, the Knesset State Control Committee voted down a proposal to establish a state commission of inquiry into the October 7th, 2023, Hamas-led attack, says Karmel, to the dismay, anger, and tears of the bereaved families present, who expected it could happen now that the 20 living hostages have been released home. The government cabinet voted to rename the war against Hamas as the War of Revival, says Karmel, a proposal floated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for over a year, and with much opposition, given the October 7, 2023, failures that led to the war. A new bill advanced by coalition lawmakers calls for several religious practices to be enshrined in Israel's public spaces, discusses Karmel, including requiring mezuzahs hung in public institutions and allowing public prayer according to the practices of the worshipper, both major battleground issues between secular and religious communities. Tercatin discusses how Israelis have changed religiously and spiritually since October 7 and the ensuing war, and whether those changes are more prevalent among those who were already religiously faithful in their previous lives. She also talks about an unusual archaeological find of an Assyrian inscription near Jerusalem's Temple Mount, with wording that appears to echo an episode described in the Bible. How about praying for that bad boss or coworker who you struggle with? Most of the reason you likely struggle with them, is that they are not living or leading with the Holy Spirit's guidance, but how could we ever expect them to, if they don't know God? Now if you're like me, it's still tough to get yourself to pray for bad superiors. But again, like everyone, they have burdens, internal struggles and pain they have to deal with. And considering they're muscling through on their own steam, with no help of hope from a relationship with Jesus, maybe that thought is enough to lift them up in prayer. In fact, your prayers may be the only ones on their behalf that they ever receive. We need to have mercy on them as the Lord had on us. Pray that they follow the Father's call into the Kingdom.

Coincidiendo con la Semana Sin Tabaco y con la conmemoración del Día Mundial Sin Tabaco que se celebra este sábado, el Campus de Ferrol de la Universidade da Coruña (UDC) ha sido declarado oficialmente Espacio Sin Humo, gracias a la colaboración entre la institución universitaria y la Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer. Esta iniciativa amplía los siete puntos libres de tabaco que ya existían en el campus, extendiéndose ahora a toda la comunidad universitaria ferrolana. El objetivo es promover entornos completamente libres de humo de tabaco y dispositivos de vapeo, fomentando hábitos de vida saludables y protegiendo especialmente a la población más joven. Durante la jornada se llevaron a cabo diversas acciones de sensibilización en el propio Campus de Ferrol, así como en otros espacios de la UDC, como la Biblioteca Xoana Capdevielle o el Centro Universitario de Riazor, en el Campus de A Coruña. Según datos recientes, más del 67 % de las personas que fuman a diario afirman querer dejar de fumar, aunque solo un 44 % da el paso de intentarlo, siendo en su mayoría mujeres. Dejar el tabaco antes de los 40 años puede reducir hasta en un 90 % el riesgo de morir por enfermedades relacionadas con su consumo. Además, el tabaquismo no solo afecta a quienes fuman: más de 1,3 millones de personas mueren cada año en el mundo por exposición al humo ajeno. En este proceso, el acompañamiento profesional resulta fundamental, ya que recibir apoyo sanitario multiplica por cuatro las probabilidades de dejar de fumar con éxito. La declaración del Campus de Ferrol como Espacio Sin Humo representa un importante avance hacia una universidad más saludable, comprometida con la prevención y el bienestar de toda su comunidad académica.

Fume is a French word meaning a smoke-like vapor or substance. It makes many people think of Pouilly-Fume, the famous Loire Valley wine and region. Robert Mondovi coined the name Fume Blanc in the 1960s. He decided to differentiate his Sauvignon Blanc by aging it in oak. He believed the toasted oak barrels gave the wine a smokey character, thus the term Fume was used. However, United States wine law does not differentiate Sauvignon Blanc and Fume Blanc. Therefore, you can buy a non-oaked Fume Blanc. Although the wine's popularity has declined in the United States, Mondovi still makes it using the same 1945-planted vines. These vines are believed to be the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines in the United States.Tonight, we are enjoying two California Zinfandels including: 2023 Ferrari-Carano Fume Blanc. This wine was purchase from Costco for $10.99. Comes from the North Coast region of California. 70% came from stainless steel tanks and 30% from older French oak barrels. It has aromas of pineapple, mango, peach, lemon grass, and lychee. Flavors of ripe fruit and crisp citrus, yellow peach, apricot, pear, lime zest, and lemon. Crisp with a subtle oak character. Dejen ya de seguir imponiendo más y más restricciones simplemente a la hostelería [...] Más del 80% de los españoles está de acuerdo con la normativa actual", ha añadido. Emilio ha comentado: "Creemos que hay una fijación por un sector en un espacio donde se hace convivencia de amigos y familiares, que realizamos en las terrazas, y que no se está produciendo un problema con el tabaco. Sí hay que dar campañas de concienciación y educación en las escuelas [...] creemos que las prohibiciones son ya suficientes, son muy estrictas y sería un exceso incluir esta prohibición". Ha expresado que sí tienen pensado un aumento de precio para el año que viene: "Nosotros como organización representativa de las empresas del sector somos absolutamente respetuosos y en precios no podemos ni establecer recomendaciones ni opiniones sobre qué hay que hacer con los precios, pero estamos en un sistema de libre mercado", ha concluido.
