Show Notes: Dr. Brooks works with leaders seeking the pursuit of expansion. He helps people step into the limelight. Look inward and ask yourself what you're passionate about and what you've been good at. Write a letter to your future self about who you've become and what you've achieved. This is a benchmark and comparison point. We make between 2,000 and 10,000 decisions each day. We have to work with intention. It's about purpose. It's about thoughtfulness. It is necessary to build the capability to acknowledge what we're actually discovering. 'The principle of You' asks which characters in your story are you enabling and which do you need to change. What is my now plan? What am I willing to do? Build your plan. Bringing the best of ourselves is sometimes knowing when to step back. We're not going to change all at once. Attunement is about making sure that we have time to go back and to check and adjust. If we aren't learning, we'll stay in the same place. You're going to have to let some things go in order to grow. Let it go not because it's bad but because it's outlived its purpose. You have to trust yourself because there will be situations where no one else will be able to pull you through. It might not be easy, but you can do it. "He who does not lay his foundation beforehand may do so with great ability afterward but with great trouble to the architect and danger to the building." - Niccolo Machiavelli Dr. Ian Brooks' Recharge Round What habit do you think has led to success in your life? Dr. Brooks is very purposeful. What's the simple positive action that you take each day to move forward to achieve your goals? He invests time in himself. He pauses, processes, and reflects. What's your biggest life lesson and what have you learned from it? Dr. Brooks always has a plan and has a good plan, but his path is his path. Today I have the pleasure to have here with me Dr. Ian Brooks. Dr. Ian Brooks is the chief executive and founder of Rhodes Smith Consulting, leading transformations of people and organizations for over 24 years. Ian has extensive experience in executive and leadership development, change management, business performance consulting, and communication planning. His new book Intention offers a practical guide to transformational change through meaningful action. I know you have a successful business, in coaching and in the consultancy, and I know also that to reach this level, where a lot of ups and downs that there were a lot of challenges, there were a lot of decisions. So, I want to hear from you, Ian, for sure you remember one decision or one action that made the click made the shift in your journey in your business. I want to hear from you, which decision actually does come to your mind that you can share with those who are listening to us today? Join our Facebook Group: Goal Getters Nation// O V E R V I E W I quickly realized that there wasn't a job that was really calling me, there wasn't something that I was really passionate about, because it wasn't for me. The second question is, should that stop me? If I have the capabilities and knowledge to actually build up towards creating a business, as well as the confidence to keep it going and move it forward? Then why not test it out?I trusted myself enough to actually start honing my skill. It was a bit difficult for me to accept that just by speaking with someone you can change his life.keep on getting training, looking for training to summit's advice and stuff like that, I was doing everything to develop my skills, and not myself. The other advice I'd give for coaches is, quite frankly, just go out and try. You're going to learn so much about yourself and do this process, both of coaching others and yourself when you're in that experience.Resources from this episode:Follow Dr. Ian BrooksYou can get your copy from Dr. Ian Brooks's book at Amazon from the link below:https://www.amazon.com/Intention-Building-Capabilities-Transform-Story-ebook/dp/B093LRMDMBLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-brooks-phd-ms/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ian.brooks.501Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drb_intention/?hl=en Join our Facebook Group: Goal Getters Nation

So, I want to hear from you, Ian, for sure you remember one decision, or one action that made the click made the shift in your journey in your business. And I want to hear from you which decision actually does come to your mind that you can share with those listening to us today?Join Our Goal Getters Nation FB Group:Facebook Groups// O V E R V I E WI quickly realized that there wasn't a job that was really calling me, there wasn't something that I was really passionate about, because it wasn't for me.If I have the capabilities and knowledge to actually build up towards creating a business, as well as the confidence to keep it going and move it forward? Then why not test it out?I trusted myself enough to actually start honing my skill. It was a bit difficult for me to accept that just by speaking with someone you can change his life.I kept on getting training, looking for trainings, summits, advices and stuff like that, I was doing everything to develop my skills, and not myself. The other advice I'd give for coaches is, quite frankly, just go out and try.
