He was a guitarist deserving of the title guitar god who rarely got mentioned in the same circles as the Satches, Vais, Rhodes, and Van Halens. Most known for his brief stint in Thin Lizzy at the end of their career and as a brief member of Whitesnake. He should have been a household for playing on the Whitesnake 87 album that sold 25M records worldwide, but he was fired before it came out. Ron Young's story is a roller coaster ride through the music business. His personal rise and fall began as the son of an abusive mother. But music would be his savior and hopes for a bright future ahead. As lead vocalist of the band Little Caesar, he shot to rock stardom thanks to being backed by a major record label and working with the biggest producer in music - Bob Rock. But then it all came crashing down. He dealt with bad timing, bad luck and those who said he just didn't have “the right look”. Eventually he found his band crashing as quickly as it rose. That was followed by heroin addiction. He had hit rock bottom. Finally, Ron found sobriety and a musical resurrection and he's here to tell his story. Disbelief over Corrections' management of a convicted rapist who moved on to murder. Joseph Brider was sentenced to a life behind bars this week for killing his neighbour Juliana Herrera in her Christchurch home. It happened just 72 days after Brider had been released from Prison. The Parole Board referred him to an intensive rehab programme but Corrections cancelled it, claiming there was no space. Board chair Sir Ron Young says that he doesn't know if Corrections lied, but the information was incorrect. He says it's hard to know or understand Corrections' motives, as the board thought the instructions were clear and everything was set up.
