A Sub-Series of A Passion for Jesus Jesus loves everyone no matter what their background. This is the attitude that should reflect in everyone who professes to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Jesus should be top priority in their lives. We can't reach others for Christ if all we do is go and around and keep condemning them for everything they do that is wrong in our eyes. We are supposed to have the eyes of Jesus. God doesn't look at our flaws and make a judgement call, thank the Lord! He teaches and practices forgiveness, patience and being a loving person. He asked questions of people and let them tell their story. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tamarachaos/support

We wrap up our Cuban Sub-Series with our friend, and new Simply Stogies Podcast host, Nick Syris of LH Cigars. Nick and I wrap up our sub-series in a nice big bow by giving you the latest news out of Cuba, and then spend a good amount of time discussing the current state of Cuban cigars: price increases, the impact of Hurricane Ian, what consumers can look forward to, and the future of Cuban cigars. We then talk about some myths and legends of Cuban cigars: Are they rolled on the thighs of virgins? What should you do when gifted a fake Cuban cigar? Should we consider the moral implications of supporting a Communist regime when purchasing Cuban cigars? Does Habanos SA use tobacco from other countries to help meet the demand of their cigars?
I welcome Nick Syris, owner and blender of LH Cigars, back to the show. Nick discusses the impact Hurricane Ian had on Cuba. He also lets us know if Cuba has improved since his visit earlier this year. Nick then dives into Cohiba's 55th Anniversary event in Cuba last month. We focus on his interview with Habanos SA vice presidents José María López Inchaurbe (Development VP) and Leopoldo Cintra González (Commercial VP). He lets us know what he thinks about their answers to his questions. Watch the full interview with Habanos SA here.

Text: James 4:13-17 Big Idea: Christians should plan their lives in such a way as to reflect their faith in our Sovereign Lord and desire to live for His kingdom.
Text: James 4: 11-12 Big Idea: Don't tear people down with your skewed sense of self—you're not God so why do it?
Text: James 4: 7-10 Big Idea: The truly wise humble themselves before God, in the midst of strife.
Text: James 4: 7-10 Big Idea: The truly wise humble themselves before God, in the midst of strife.
Text: James 4: 1-6 Big Idea: True wisdom rejects destructive patterns of conflict (strife) in our relationships. We do this by understanding the role our fleshly desires and our world play as the source of this destructive conflict. Then we humbly choose to rely on God's grace to live a better way.
Text: James 3:13-18 Big Idea: True wisdom is demonstrated in a life of good conduct. Especially, in relationships and dealings marked by purity and peace, as opposed to jealousy and strife.
Text: James 3:1-12 Big Idea: Pay careful attention to your speech, because your words have a disproportionate effect on your life and world, both positive and negative. The Christ-follower has integrity between faith and words.
Text: James 2:14-25 Big Idea: Real faith is proved to be real by the way it works out in our Godly actions. An alleged faith, that doesn't work out in how we live and love, is not faith at all!
I am joined by Cuban cigar expert and the owner of LH Cigars, Nick Syris, as we discuss the impact of the US embargo on Cuban cigars. The conversation begins with some news coming out of Cuba and quickly turns to the Habanos SA price increases. Nick gives his thoughts on why Habanos SA has raised their prices and what impact that will have on the cigar industry around the world. We talk discuss the future of Cuban cigars, if new manufacturers will be able to sustain their success given the current economic climate, and how the price increases will affect "New World" cigars. If you'd like to have Nick Syris on your podcast, please contact him at his webiste.
Text: James 2:18-13 Big Idea: Real faith loves others because it lives in light of God's mercy.
Text: James 2:1-7 The big idea of this message: Real faith is incompatible with favouritism.
Text: James 1:26-27 The big idea of this message: True faith and real hearing leads to worship with your whole life. James continues with looking at hallmarks of the believers life. Here we see three: Considered speech, compassionate care, consecrated lives.
I am joined by Nick Syris, owner of LH Cigars, my co-host for our Cuban Sub-Series. We discuss the latest news from Cuba: The explosion near Hotel Saratoga in Cuba, the Biden Administrations change in Cuban policy, and Habanos S.A. dramatically raising Cuban cigar prices. We then talk about the innovators of Cuban cigars: Christopher Columbus, Fidel Castro, Zino Davidoff, and more.
Text: James 1:22-25 The big idea of this message: Be a doer of the word, not merely listening which is folly. Work the truth out in your life which leads to blessing.
James 1: 19-21 The big idea of this message: Let the gospel renew the way we speak to one another.
James 1: 16 - 18 The big idea of this message: Trust in the goodness of God.
Nick Syris, owner of LH Cigars, joins me for the next installment of the sub-series this year, while we look at the history of Cuban cigars. We start from when they believe the tobacco plant arrived on the island and go all the way to present day Cuba. Of course, we stop a little along the way to discuss modern issues: the FDA, marketing, censorship, and why cigar reviewers breakdown their reviews by thirds. As always, Nick is a wealth of information. Do not miss this look at the history of Cuban Cigars. You can follow Nick on Instagram, and Twitter.

James welcomes back co-host Nick Syris, a Master Blender and Cuban expert, to discuss his latest trip to Cuba. Is Cuba ready for tourism as the pandemic (hopefully) winds down? Nick talks about what he saw as he visited the island nation in April of 2022. From the changes in currency to the amount of inflation Cuba is now seeing, it does not bode well for those looking to travel to Cuba anytime soon. Nick discusses the ongoing exodus from Cuba and where they are all going, as well as how that won't affect Cuban cigar production. It's a very fresh look at a nation in the middle of a perfect storm of crippling inflation and effects of a 2yrs pandemic. You can contact Nick Syris on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
I welcome back to the show Nick Syris of LH Cigars. We return to our sub-series on Cuba and discuss the Cuban people. Nick explains their daily lives, what they go through, how they live, and how they work to steal. We talk about their views and general attitudes towards Americans, racism, and the impact of a Communist run economy that sees 77% inflation. It's an eye-opening look at a proud people. You can contact Nick Syris on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
This episode is a continuation of Episode 73, where Nick Syris (owner of LH Cigars and Cuban cigar expert) continue our discussion of the history of Cuba. We begin with the infamous Fidel Castro coming to power and how that changed things for the Cuban people and the geopolitical landscape. We discuss how the Russians helped prop up Cuba and talk about China now propping up the Communist regime in Cuba.
This is the first of a new sub series of podcasts where myself and Nick Syris of LH Cigars will discuss all things Cuba. For Part 1, Nick and I discuss the beginnings of the island of Cuba, its Spanish colonization, and how the island of Cuba has been a political pawn for centuries. We make it through the Bautista era in this episode. Join Nick and I for an in-depth look at the Cuban island, its people, and their cigars, once a month through most of 2022.

This week marks the official END of SEASON 1. ----- The 2nd episode in the LOST FILES sub series. (Episode 17) This file actually wasn't LOST- we kinda found it, and we thought it had gone down with the sinking ship on the other drive. Good thing, cause my guy Xandros is working and touches out of state- so it'd be tough to pull him back in for the sequel. Xandros is a director/videographer in Boston and still to this date is one of my favorite podcasts because his film knowledge was A1. He has shot big music vids in the city (P.I.S.T.O.L.A- Pistola, go peep it, it's a sick vid) and also had the opportunity to go on tour with Lil Skies, and Landon Cube on "Life of a Dark Rose Tour" as their official videographer.
