Note - the movie review segment of this episodes originally ared in KF Show #295. Bernie just INSISTS on mailing it in! We finally let him. -Rob and CD We saw it! Ryan Gosling plays the Fall Guy in the big screen movie. Any of our fears about this ruining a beloved TV tale about stunts and jump trucks were wrong! The movie is great and while it might be a one and done it could certainly feature sequels too! Gosling plays the Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stunt man that ends up having to solve a mystery, while jumping trucks and doing stunts. Sound familiar? Colt ends up being nearly killed during the opening movie-within-a-movie stunt (that Gosling really did) due to sabotage by the jealous star that he's doubling. It breaks his confidence and takes him away from the career (and woman) that he loves. But, when Jody the camera girl becomes Jody the director of the biggest baddest stunt movie ever to be made….he comes out of retirement to get it done. And save the relationship. And solve the mystery of the leading man that was dead…..or was he? In it are thrown in intentional meta references, sound effects and songs that will make your hears sing, aliens that make you laugh, all leading to the good guy winning in the end with the help of the girl….and a brown and gold GMC truck. Get to the theater NOW to see it on the real big screen. You'll probably need to go twice. KF Rating: Double birds to the bad guys and 10 Fall Guy Trucks! Join Greg and Nathan as they welcome Nathan Bartlebaugh back for a deep dive into the most anticipated summer 2025 movie releases. From major blockbusters to hidden indie gems, the trio breaks down what to watch, what to skip, and what might just surprise you. Whether you're a casual viewer or a hardcore cinephile, this episode is your essential guide to the movies that will define the summer.
And so we enter another summer “blah-buster” of movies. The Blockbuster may be fading away or at least becoming more elusive. Who would have thought Minecraft would be such a juggernaut? Join me as we dive into the summer 2025 lineup which can make or break top studios like Disney. With a lacklustre track record of flops they need a win. Sadly the true drive behind the art of storytelling, acting, directing and compelling characters has been replaced by the “standard” box ticking movie product. Content for content's sake. A political or ideological message above the true art of movie making. Well this trend is keeping audiences away. All this and more on this episode of “I'm Not Famous”. Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we dive into some of cinema's biggest box office failures and explore whether they deserve a second chance. As we roll into the summer months, Not A Bomb has decided to dedicate July to the Summer Blockbuster season. That particular time of year when film budgets seemingly have no limit. To kick off our Summer Blockbuster extravaganza, Troy and Brad tackle 2004's historical drama - The Alamo. All this is well and good, but here is what you need to know: the summer blockbuster season is May-August. That was the assignment, and Brad picked a film released in April, so we are already off to a great start! Outside of someone's inability to understand time, we hope you enjoy the episode.
