I realised that not everyone knows what stablecoins are and how they differ from each other and from CBDCs. I covered this topic some time ago on my French channel with the entrepreneur Pablo Veyrat, the founder of Angle. In this episode, we discuss it in more detail with my guest: Sinclair. This founder, who spent some time at Palantir, talks about the Mural Pay venture he created in the US to rationalise instant global payments and invoicing. Mural eliminates delays and fees, allowing vendors and contractors to be paid with stablecoin-based payments. Various use cases are examined more closely to understand the start-up's strategy and how it evangelises its market, along with how the teams developed their solution: integrations and features.

My guests this week are Cecilia Albertini and Chandler Toffa the director and co-producer (respectively) of the charming new documentary The City of Human Chess. This short documentary tells the story of Marostica, Italy, where a famous chess game is recreated by human volunteers on a bi-annual basis. The event has a long tradition and draws upwards of 4000 paying customers. It is a touching story about people working together and the connective power of chess, and I greatly enjoyed watching it and discussing it with its creators. We also discussed Cecilia and Chandler's backgrounds both in chess and away from it. Timestamps for topics discussed can be found below.
This week Rob has been for an audition for the actual BBC, but has he had any success? We talk about a story that we may be getting from a listener about starring in a porn movie and Tim talks about his wife’s new, very expensive perfume and he’s not impressed. We discuss the news that Snickers have gone back to using the name Marathon for a limited time only, Rob discovers that Tim may have been part of some strange “Friend Transfer” when he was just a kid and our good podcasting friend Toffa of The Master Debaters podcast has provided us with an anecdote/listener story that should make us laugh! Tim has finally got around to watching Upgrade, re-watches The Hunt For Red October which we think was the first outing for Jack Ryan; Rob watches Creepshow on Shudder, American Horror Story 1984 and is struggling to get through season 4 of Preacher and blitz’s 13 Reasons Why season 3. In the news this week we tell you of an Uber Eats driver that makes an unscheduled delivery of his own and the Holey Poke game goes on sale in PoundLand for that extra special Christmas Gift. To finish this episode we bring our Beat The Intro quiz as usual BUT.. this week we have TV themes instead!
