The Anaheim Ducks' youth is starting to look better as the season winds down, and Pavel Mintyukov has been in the middle of some terrific plays. JD Hernandez is back to talk about the young defenseman, and his impressive play against the Blackhawks and the Lightning. However, the Ducks lost in overtime despite some great play... except for one crucial play in overtime and some awful special team play. Finally, we look ahead to the pair of games in Seattle... and is that Trevor Zegras finally coming back? It was fight night at the United Center as the Anaheim Ducks clashed with the Chicago Blackhawks. JD Hernandez lets out some of the pent-up rage, and gives credit to Pavel Mintyukov who showed the rest of the league that he is not to be messed with. Also, we came this close to seeing a goalie fight featuring John Gibson... and this wasn't his first rodeo. Even with all the fighting, the Ducks' defensive woes continued in another bad loss. With the All-Star break coming to an end, the Anaheim Ducks are set to bring back Pavel Mintyukov to their lineup... which means Olen Zellweger stays in San Diego. Why does this move make sense right now, and will Olen stay with the Gulls for the rest of the season? JD Hernandez explores the possibility of Zellweger remaining in San Diego this season. Rarely do two NHL clubs swap top-10 prospects before they hit the age of 25, even more rare for it to happen at this point of the fantasy hockey and NHL season, but that is exactly what the Philadelphia Flyers and Anaheim Ducks did on Monday when swapping Cutter Gauthier for Jamie Drysdale. Flip and Steele breakdown all of the fantasy hockey implications revolving around this trade, including what it will mean for rising fantasy blue-liner Pavel Mintyukov of the Ducks. The boys also kick off a classic fantasy hockey countdown that all fantasy hockey GMs should be looking at, the top fantasy hockey young guns that have played 100 NHL games or less. Names on our initial list include the likes of Luke Evangelista of the Nashville Predators, Kirill Marchenko of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Connor Ingram of the Arizona Coyotes, Justin Barron of the Montreal Canadiens and Jake Neighbours of the St. Louis Blues. We wrap up the show by taking a dive into Wednesday's mini three-game NHL betting board, serving up our favourite same-game parlays from the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche matchup. Shane Wright of the KIngston Frontenacs. Photo by Robert Lefebvre/OHL Images. HockeyProspect.com has released our second 2022 NHL Draft Ranking of the season. This NHL Draft list follows up our previous ranking which was released back on October 25th, 2021. Shane Wright is hanging tough as the player sitting atop of our December ranking. Wright and his Canadian teammates will get their World Junior Tournament underway later today vs the Czech Republic. When Wright returns to Kngston he will get enjoy an old linemate who has returned to the OHL. We are big fans of Zayde Wisdom and he recently got back into a game for Kingston prior to the shutdown. He played a role in helping Shane Wright have a great rookie OHL reason two years ago. Two players who were on the outside looking into our top 32 back on October 25th both play for the Saginaw Spirit. Moving up to 10th overall is Pavel Mintyukov, a talented defender who has 6 goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 25 games at the Christmas break. His teammate, Matyas Sapovaliv, is a big lanky centre who is just beginning to fill out his frame. Matyas has 8 goals and 13 assists at the break, is skilled, very smart, strong in the faceoff circle and sits at 19th on our list. Logan Cooley from the USNTDP, Danila Yurov, from Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL and Owen Pickering from the Swift Current Broncos are all holding their spots in our top 5. You can watch Cooley and Yurov beginning today, as they both made their respective Country's World Junior rosters. Check back soon as we'll have more audio posts coming in the days ahead.
