In 1 Samuel 16:13–24, we see a dramatic “transfer” of spirits. Samuel anoints David, and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him in power. At the same time, because of King Saul's ongoing disobedience, God allows a troubling spirit to torment him.David, known both for his skill in music and now for being anointed by God, is called to play for Saul. Each time David played, Saul's troubled mind found relief, and the spirit that oppressed him departed. This reminds us that God's Spirit brings strength, and that music—especially when offered in His presence—can be a healing balm for anxious, restless, or burdened hearts today.Psalm 150 calls all creation to praise the Lord everywhere and with every instrument. Worship not only glorifies God but also strengthens and uplifts our own spirits. Just as David's harp brought calm to Saul, anointed praise and music can bring peace to troubled minds in our own lives.In seasons of mental struggle, praise becomes a pathway to peace. Whether through song, music, or simple words of gratitude, worship can lift us from heaviness to hope, reminding us that God still meets us in our deepest needs.

In this episode, I interview Dr. Fredric Schiffer, psychiatrist, research associate at McLean Hospital, associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and pioneer of Dual Brain Psychology. We discuss his innovative approach to understanding and treating trauma, addiction, and other mental health challenges, as outlined in his latest book, Good-bye Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, & PTSD.Dr. Schiffer explains how each brain hemisphere functions as an independent mind. One side is often troubled, traumatized, and negative, while the other is healthier, more positive, and mature. However, it's not immediately apparent which hemisphere is which in each individual. Using simple techniques like covering one visual field with your hand, an envelope, or special glasses, you can determine which side is which. This method builds on split-brain research, the brain's visual pathways, and the work of Freud.We also discuss near-infrared light therapy (transcranial photobiomodulation), applied to the forehead to stimulate the healthier hemisphere. Combined with psychotherapy, these techniques—the light therapy and eye-covering technique—help the healthier side work with its troubled counterpart to facilitate healing. These methods are effective for treating trauma, addiction (likely including fentanyl), and other mental health issues. A horrible thing I listened to recently (not sure how old it is), a 911 call where a 12 year old called to said he killed a 9 year old and he did it because he felt like killing. The kid said he didn't want to be on this earth anymore. He told 911 to kill him or lock him up for life. This child has clearly gone through something unbearable. Another thing that could be happening is like many people, he have messed with the darkside. People have no clue the things they do, say, entertain, etc., open portals to the darkside. Most people are experiencing it, but because people aren't in tune with their bodies they're unaware. Demons don't discriminate. Kids are doing a lot of killing lately, especially killing their parents. So much is going on in the world, but no matter WHAT it is, the condition of a person's mindset determines what they think, how they feel, and what they do. If the mindset isn't healthy people are more easily influenced because of the power they give to their thoughts. If you entertain negative thoughts, you give power to them. Every suicidal person has a lot of unresolved inside, and unlike the average person, they choose to give up on their lives. When a person has suicidal thoughts they no doubt have battled the thoughts for a while. Some people have battled the thoughts all of their lives. It's because people aren't healing, but what they are doing is piling up a bunch of other stuff (from other people and life) onto their own unresolved, and it becomes too much pressure for them to handle. If people continue to allow those thoughts to come without taking action to get past that way of thinking, they'll continue to give power to those negative thoughts until they act on them. People with negative mindsets always get into relationships or situations that cause them more burdens, pain, and suffering. The torment is real! The way forward isn't choosing death it is choosing life by becoming the best you can be by making a choice to become better. You can't become better by holding on to bad people, memories, thoughts, feelings and other things. You can't become better by giving power to others, especially those who have hurt you!
