Twihards, this episode is for you! On November 16, 2012, the world stood still for the fandom when the Twilight Saga concluded with the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2 in theaters. 10 years later and we are still triggered by the trauma of Carlisle losing his head, still questioning imprinting, laughing at Chuckesmee, and still liking the rain girl! In this episode, I'm joined by a fellow Twihard (my sister Trini) as we discuss the saga as a whole and think back on seeing Breaking Dawn Part 2 in the theaters for the first time surrounded by other Twilight fans. You better hold on tight, spider monkey. On this week's episode, we discuss the 2008 cultural phenomenon, TWILIGHT. We reminisce on the vampire trend of the late aughts, cringe at the now iconic dialogue, and why we were such Twihards back in the day.

Hanna and Ron discuss the 2008 hit film "Twilight" with breakout stars Robbie Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. This is Ron's first time viewing this film and calls out a lot of vampire inaccuracies. Hanna and Ron also discuss the lack of chemistry between Robert and Kristen, which could partially be due to the 160 year age gap. Is Twilight a movie about grooming?
BONUS: She may not have won the Oscar but Kirsten Stewart will always be #1 around these parts. Kate Hudson and Brian Rodriguez talk 2021's Spencer for their new podcasting Twilight Slumber Party, launching soon. Lots of British royal gossip today, Twihards.

This special episode focuses on Jez becoming Team Jacob for a day - Enjoy Bella's Goodness Podcast, episode 10!*************I've fought it for too long. But last night I was up late re-reading TTS for the hundredth time… and it washed over me like a tidal wave - Bella was *always* meant to be with Jacob Black. Jacob is clearly her *one* *and only* true love and it's sooooo clear from the text that I don't know how I ever missed it before. So today I am announcing Bella's Goodness Podcast is Team Jacob forever (and ever). Here are the top three reasons why I'm #TeamJacob1. In the opening chapter we learn that Bella is getting Billy Black's truck. A clear reference to a deep connection waaaaaaaaaaaay before we *ever* hear about Edward. Smeyer is foreshadowing the actual focus of the series. Bella's love of family (as seen in her relationship with Charlie) is directly connected to this Swan/Black friendship and bond.2. All of Twilight is really just a preface to where the actual Twilight Saga begins which everyone knows is when Edward leaves in New Moon (Smeyer has always said that when Edward leaves in New Moon is really *Chapter One* for the real story. 3. All Twilight does as a novel is establish that Edward falls into the traditional “perfect guy” mold, a stereotype that has no real effect on Bella. Bella is not looking for a knight in shining armor (like in the car accident scene). All that does is re-establish traditional stereotypes of patriarchy, and Bella wants nothing to do with that.4. Bella's last name is Swan, a reference to her own ancient roots tied to nature and animals. “Cullen” has nothing to do with the earth or animals - a clear indication from Smeyer that Edward is not intended for Bella. Jacob Black is not only a wolf - animal connection to the Swan of Bella - but also black like the color. We all know there are black wolves and black swans. 5. From the wedding scene onward (remember how unhappy and scared Bella was early on in the wedding?) TTS finishes out as a dystopia showing what happens when you make the *wrong* decision. The marriage of Bella and Edward is fraught with turmoil, anger, and danger from the outset - even on their honeymoon! Their marriage is a cautionary tale for the YA audience it was intended for all along.*************In every episode of Bella Goodness 143 - it's commonly called "Bella's Goodness" - you'll learn something about the Twilight saga that I hope you've never heard or thought much about before. The Twilight Saga from a guy's perspective! In this ninth (9th) episode of this brand new podcast, your host, Jez, covers chapter three "PHENOMENON" of the novel that started it all, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. The discussion today focuses on the iconic and fateful near-death car accident scene - where Tyler almost kills Bella on the slick, icy pavement in the Forks High School parking lot. Jez discusses a lot of elements of love and relationships in this episode: trust, faith, being out of someone's league, the small injuries we inflict unknowingly on others, and so much more.In every episode of Bella Goodness 143 - it's commonly called "Bella's Goodness" - you'll learn something about the Twilight saga that I hope you've never heard or thought much about before. The Twilight Saga from a guy's perspective! In this eighth (8th) episode of this brand new podcast, your host, Jez, covers the last half of Chapter Two "Open Book" of the novel that started it all, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. The discussion today focuses on the iconic and fateful Biology classroom scene - the moment Edward first speaks to Bella, and how she handles the dazzle (or doesn't handle it). We see a continued struggle and dissonance within Edward, and a baffled Bella as a result. Yet, there's one thing that's certain: there's electricity flowing between these two.In every episode of Bella Goodness 143 - it's commonly called "Bella's Goodness" - you'll learn something about the Twilight saga that I hope you've never heard or thought much about before. In this episode of Creative Happy Hour, we do a deep dive into interesting stuff…What is a fandom? What is an aesthetic? What is fan art and fan fiction? What in the world are fictosexuals? And what does all of this mean for creatives and creativity: How can being a superfan of something help you to express your creativity, and how can it hurt? How do you create work of your own that is fandom worthy? Been hoping to write or produce the next Twilight or Harry Potter? Listen to this and get drunk on the creative possibilities!
The Twilight Saga from a guy's perspective! In this third episode of this brand new podcast your host, Jez, shares a curious thought that he has - and he wonders if he's alone, or if you too, maybe, share this hope? What if Twilight were real? What if the Twilight Saga was not mere fantasy, but was in fact a documentary? Are we crazy for wanting such to be true? What if Kristen Stewart in 2021 is found to have the very same scar on her wrist that James gave her all those years ago? What if Edward Cullen, I mean Robert Pattinson is seen to have not aged a day since 2008? What if Twilight was real? It has finally happened! We are soooo excited to announce that we sat down and FINALLY reviewed Twilight! We are both bonafide, certified Twihards and Twilight Saga experts; so come listen as we break down this beloved bad/good classic movie/book! Watch as we discuss our intense, codependent history with the series and how we love/hate/love everything about it! In this episode, we go step by step through the first movie and talk about how it differs from the books. Squid also compares it to the newly released book Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward’s perspective), and we discuss how it feels to look back through adult eyes on our guilty obsession.
Twilight, Harry Potter, or both? In this episode, Meghan, Amber, and Alex dive into the teen fandom world and discuss the discourse between Twihards and Potterheads - and then sort the Twilight characters into Hogwarts house! Gen Z said it isn't cool, but the girls are doing it anyway. Listen in to hear where they think the characters belong. Peanut even makes a guest appearance - but not in the way you'd expect.
The Twilight Saga from a guy's perspective! In this second episode of this brand new podcast your host, Jez, cracks into Chapter One "First Sight" of the novel that started it all, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. The discussion today focuses on Bella Swan as we find her to be a person who has faced a lot of adversity, and who is far from living "her best life." We see how Meyer's writing really does a superb job of opening our hearts for Bella well before she meets Mr. Cullen. In every episode of Bella Goodness 143 - it's commonly called "Bella's Goodness" - you'll learn something about the Twilight saga that I hope you've never heard or thought much about before. This week is the season one finale of the Monolith Filmcast and to go out with a BANG we are joined by two special guests to discuss the Twilight Saga. Great friends of the show, Edgar and Alex (two of the biggest Twihards, and representatives from the Team Edward and Team Jacob camps) give us their hottest takes on one of the most divisive franchises of all time . We also share some of our cringiest early memories of Twilight. You can follow Edgar on Twitter, Instagram, and check out his latest cover on SoundCloud! After so many incredibly long years of waiting (seriously, if you don't know the history behind this book, you need to read up on it), Twihards have finally consumed Stephenie Meyer's Midnight Sun — and we're finally up to talking about it on this podcast. The new Twilight novel offers new perspectives on many of Meyer's iconic characters, most of all Edward Cullen. In this episode of the podcast, we share our thoughts on Midnight Sun and talk about the good and the bad that's come from Twilight since its publication 15 years ago. SPOILERS AHEAD! Bookstacked is donating 100% of its podcast ad earnings from the months of September and October to the Move to Higher Ground campaign in support of the Quileute tribe. Click here to learn how you can help. In this episode: We say hi to Chelsea Regan, who joins us for the first time on the show! Michael didn't finish reading the book ... We ask him why. Midnight Sun completely changed the way we see Bella Swan. Is Edward too uppity when it comes to the mortals in this book? Should Stephenie Meyer have tried to rectify some of the mistakes she's made regarding the Quileute tribe? Let's not forget: Twilight helped pave the way for today's YA. Related Reading: Brigitte's Review: 'Midnight Sun' by Stephenie Meyer is a hit of Nostalgia Michael's article: 'Twilight' was published 15 years ago. It started as an April Fools joke and became SO MUCH MORE. This week, we read Twilight and enjoyed it an embarrassing amount. Bella is weirdly obsessed with cars and can't stop falling over; the kids in Forks, Washington are almost creepily nice; Charlie Swan is just trying to do his job and eat his fish fry; Edward is just trying not to murder his new girlfriend; the rest of the Cullens are just trying not to be in direct sunlight so they don't freak everyone out with their sparkly skin; and we're just trying to pretend we're not suddenly Twihards. Plus: Our longest summary yet! And some VERY problematic cultural appropriation. It wouldn't be The Nibbler without some PC moralizing, now, would it?
Love them or hate them, they have definitely been a very visible and vocal fandom, even in the mainstream. This week, we're talking about fans of the Twilight movies and books: Twilighters. What happens when fandoms hit the mainstream? What's the backlash like? What was it that allowed the franchise to connect people across different generations? We cunningly avoid taking sides, and instead focus in on what defines Twilight fans. Everyone's a fan! Music by The Condors, The Flame, and Les Sans Culottes.

We cunningly avoid taking sides, and instead focus in on what defines Twilight fans. Everyone's a fan!
