Hello and welcome to the Q-T.A.L.K.S
Today we share one of the talks from last week's webinar on Michael and the Call to a Universal Spirituality. In this contemplation of Michael's working we focus on what it is Michael wants to bring us to heal the divisions that prevent us from being united across all divisions and differences: the Holy or Healing Spirit. What happens in a human heart that feels the Healing Spirit pouring into it? And how does Michael lead us, through the vision this Spirit gives us, into a way of seeing that discovers Christ's working in the world, in the cosmos - as well as in his deed of life and death on Golgotha? - These are the guiding questions of this episode.Resources:- Blackboard and Quote: Patrick wrote elements from the following quote by Rudolf Steiner on the blackboard during the talk: “Now, however, they were as transformed: like people who had achieved a new state of mind or soul disposition, like people who had lost all the narrow restrictions, all the egotism of life, who had gained an infinitely wide heart and all-embracing tolerance, a deeply heartfelt understanding of all that is human on earth. They could also express themselves so that everyone present could understand them. One felt also that they could see into each heart and soul and clarify the secrets of the soul, so they could comfort the other, could tell him exactly what he needed." - Rudolf Steiner in The Fifth Gospel, lecture 2, October 2, 1913.Patrons who are supporters, friends or benefactors will have access to all four of the webinar videos. Our thanks to Elliott Chamberlin who composed the opening music, "On the Road" and the closing music, "Seeking Together". Dr. Lana Turner-Addison speaks with Bishop Elijah Patterson about the topic of Universal Spirituality and how it is applicable to life. Universal spirituality allows the followers of each and every religion and denomination to freely practice their faith without harassment, criticism and denigration from the followers of another religion or from non-believers.
Our conversation with the Rev. Adam Bucko continues in this episode, the second part of a two-part interview. To listen to part one, click here. In the summer of 2019, the Reverend Adam Bucko was appointed as a Minor Canon at the Episcopal Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, NY, where he serves as the director of the Center for the Spiritual Imagination. Although he is a newly ordained Episcopal priest, Adam has been a prominent figure in new monastic and contemplative Christian circles for some time now. Before going to seminary, he was an activist and spiritual director to New York City’s homeless youth. He is the co-author of two books, Occupy Spirituality: A Radical Vision for a New Generation (with Matthew Fox), and The New Monasticism: A Manifesto for Contemplative Living (with Rory McEntee). What we discovered was that homeless kids were not interested in talking about spirituality, but they were very eager to experience what would feel like a break from all the chaos that was present in their lives. — Adam Bucko Adam grew up in Poland during the totalitarian regime, where he explored the anarchist youth movement as a force for social and political change. After emigrating to the US at 17, his desire to lead a meaningful life sent him to monasteries in the US and India. His life-defining experience took place in India, where a brief encounter with a homeless child led him to the “Ashram of the Poor” where he began his work with homeless youth. This trans kid who started coming every day to learn meditation, he simply said, "Every time I show up here, I feel like I need to go into the meditation room. Once I go there, once I sit and get quiet, I feel like I just need to tell God about all of the pain in my life, and then just rest there, and be silent." And so my response to that was, "Why don't you just do that — every day." — Adam Bucko Upon returning to the US, Adam worked with homeless youth in cities around the country. He co-founded The Reciprocity Foundation, an award winning nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of New York City’s homeless youth. Additionally, Adam established HAB, an ecumenical and inter-spiritual contemplative fellowship for young people which offers formation in radical spirituality and sacred activism. Contemplative prayer for me is very much about heartbreak and aliveness. I gather all of the stuff of my life, all of the stuff that I experience in this world, both my heartbreak but also all of those things that make me truly alive, and I bring them to God and I sit there, in silence, awaiting God's response. — Adam Bucko Adam speaks movingly about growing up in the repressive society of totalitarian Poland (where priests he knew were killed by the government), and then discovering contemplative practice through Hindu spirituality, before discerning a call to integrate his spiritual life with a commitment to social justice and sacred activism. The theme of this lecture (delivered May 12, 2019) is the concrete scheme of human relationships in Vedic culture. It begins with a brief introduction to the Vedas, the source books of universal spiritual laws. There are four Vedas, each with four sections: rituals, prayers, contemplative prayers, and higher metaphysical/spiritual philosophy (Vedanta).Max Muller was commissioned by the Church of England to translate the Vedas to show it was nonsense so that people would convert to Christianity. After learning about the Vedas, he became a devotee of the Vedas, not just a scholar of the Vedas. The Rig Veda contains 1087 suktas (hymns), which together contain over 11000 verses. These hymns contain various concepts of God. For example, Agni is called Purohit, because he takes your offerings to various deities. Max Muller gives a Western classification of the evolution of the idea of Godhead in the Vedas, which is not entirely acceptable to traditional scholars but useful for Western scholarship: Pantheism, Polytheism, Monotheism, henotheism, monism. These Vedas were the product of the realizations of great saints and sages who had understood certain spiritual truths in their own heart and experience. For example, the Nasadiya Sukta states that in the beginning, it was not anything that could be called either existence or non-existence.Swami Vivekananda said that anybody can be a prophet because he can realize the presence of God in his own heart. A person leading a pure life can reach this highest spiritual evolution. These are the conclusions of the Vedas, the highest reach of the Vedas.Vedic Scheme of Life – Universal Regulatory Principles of LifeTaittiriya Upanishad Convocation address: practice dharma; always continue learning; never deviate from the truth; respect your parents, your teachers, and your guests (even those who arrive uninvited).Householders need to fight evil, generate wealth in order to uphold society. Many of these ideas encoded in the Smrtis were also incorporated in the Indian constitution.Four ashramas or stages of life were regulated by 40 or 16 sacraments (samskaras).A structure of values is needed so that all activities can be carried out in the proper way. Need for sleep and food are necessary for both humans and animals. What makes humans special is their sense of dharma. A spiritual orientation is given to all householder duties. This sense is universal, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi had a motherly love that all understood.1)Marriage - is a joint spiritual pilgrimage. Never deviating from Dharma, they journey through artha and kama in order to reach moksha.2)An ideal teacher sees his disciple as a father sees his own son. He dreams of being surpassed by his own son/disciple.3)A father who sells his son for a dowry, parents who do not teach their children spiritual/cultural values beyond the utilitarian and practical cannot be called parents or teachers.4)Moksha is the most important value of this life. In the Way of Pilgrim, you find the peasant had reached perfection in the Jesus prayer. Every moment was a joy because he felt the presence of God everywhere. He was a jivanmukta, liberated while living in the spirit. 5)The art of retiring: not micromanaging family affairs, retiring to contemplation and meditation instead.6)Finally reaching the stage of sannyasa in the fourth stage.7)Young people can take to monasticism at any time when the genuine desire for Moksha. The Vedic scheme of life is universal, sublime, and applicable in all time and places. It embodies the highest spiritual ideals but in a concrete way in everyday life. It raises ordinary duties into selfless spiritual activities.

OPEN LETTER: VERY ILLUSTRIOUS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF NORTH AMERICA AND SIR PRIME MINISTER OF THE SOVIET UNION. Will you please excuse us that we do not mention your names and surnames, because we do not know in what year this letter will reach your hands and as it is just obvious, times are changing and we do not know if at that time you will be holding the First Magistracy Office of your respective countries. The purpose of this open letter is to inform you that in LATIN AMERICA was already achieved the CONQUEST OF SPACE. It is barely natural that you will skeptically smile before such information, possibly considered by you as an “INSOLENCE”. We comply with the duty to advise you not to spend any more money on COSMIC ROCKETS; those monies should be better used. The cosmic rockets are good for nothing and are a real failure. There currently exists in a secret location in SOUTH AMERICA, in the deep heart of the jungle, a scientific society with ninety-eight eminent scientists coming from different European Nations. This society following the footsteps of the great sage GUILLERMO MARCONI, learned to use the powerful SOLAR ENERGY with GREAT MASTERY. Currently such society builds under the guidance of wise MARTIANS men, wonderful interplanetary ships with which they have not only studied all your territories but they have also managed to travel to the MOON and to MARS. It is not in vain to explain that the aforementioned scientific society has enough money to continue its works thanks to the economic support of the MARTIANS. LET ME CLARIFY. It would not be strange for us that you throw outraged this letter because your pride and skepticism is well known on the whole planet Earth. Nonetheless before few years you'll have concrete evidence about our claims. Fuel liquid you use for cosmic rockets is useless for the interplanetary navigation. THE COSMIC SHIPS designed by Martians and built by the sages of the aforementioned scientific society, under the direction of the Martians sages are powered by Solar energy. The Scientists of the aforementioned society are eminently religious and there is even a priest among them, it does not matter which Religion. We are absolutely convinced that it is absolutely impossible the conquest of space if we exclude the SPIRITUALITY. All the inhabitants of the Cosmos are deeply religious. Everyone knows very well that the DIVINE is latent and immanent in every atom of the infinite. The aforementioned SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY has built a great UNDERGROUND laboratory in the heart of the JUNGLE. This laboratory has everything necessary for research. Contact with the Martians was achieved on December 16 in the year of 1955 at 5 in the afternoon. Five Martian machines flew at that time over the jungle and one landed. Four Martian people descended and among them the Martian Chief of the expedition. Since then the contact was established and the COSMIC SHIPS FROM MARS are landing normally in that region. Those ninety-eight resident scientists in the deep jungle of South America, usually coexist with the MARTIANS and from them are learning the science of INTERPLANETARY NAVIGATION. The aforementioned scientists received from the hands of the Martian Chief, illustrious Sir TAGE, a sheet of gold with the following inscription: "LOGA (MARS) UNIVERSAL BROTHER OF THE IMMENSE SPACE, RENDERS HOMAGE AND FRIENDSHIP TO DOGUE (EARTH) IN THE VEHE-MENT LONGING TO UNITE ALL HUMANS BEINGS LIVING IN ONE SPIRIT, IN THE INFINITE SPIRIT FOR ETERNAL GLORY AND PEACE" Congratulations to the Martian Chief Mr. TAGE for his speech of four words are: "SUNDI, DOGUE, LOGA, which means God, Earth and Mars". With this speech and the sheet of gold, the ALLIANCE between Martians and earthlings has been sealed. We also extend our congratulations to MR. MARTINELLI, for the wholesome and meaningful ring given to Mr. TAGE on the 12th of October 1956 twelve hours Meridian that took place on the face of the Earth the most important cosmic event, of all the centuries after the coming of our Lord THE CHRIST. One of the most illustrious members of the afore mentioned scientific society, the illustrious Sr Narcissus Genovese says that at that precise time the "COLUMBUS EXPEDITION" left heading to Planet Mars. A lot we owe on this matter to Mr. Narcissus Genovese on the aforementioned Scientific Expedition to the planet Mars. If this letter, arrives to him please receive our congratulations. As well as the three ships that came with Columbus to America, were also three the COSMIC SHIPS built by the terrestrial scientists under the direction of the Martians. The names of the THREE COSMIC SHIPS are: "LOGA", "DOGE", "CUNDI" (MARS EARTH, ALLIANCE). The interior of the Ships were decorated with THE IMAGE OF CHRIST and the trip was performed successfully. The CONVOY was made up of three TERRESTRIAL COSMIC SHIPS and six Martian who FULFILLED the mission of escorting Earthling crafts. Nine people formed the crew of Earth Ships. Three for each one of the three EARTHLING SHIPS. The first stage of cosmic flight was the MOON and was absolutely proven over and over again, that the MOON is a DEAD world. The expedition rested on the Moon and then continued their journey heading to MARS. Ten ships of MARTIAN origin joined in the Moon to the expeditioners. All the inhabitants of the city of TANIO capital of the planet MARS, came to the AIRPORT to WELCOME to the inhabitants of the Earth. Five days remained the expeditioners on the planet MARS dedicated to the OBSERVATION and study. It was a lot what they learned on MARS and after returning victorious they continued their studies and research in the heart of the South American jungle. The NINETY -EIGHT European scientists dedicated to this kind of research and study under the guidance of wise men MARTIANS, want to share their knowledge with all the inhabitants of the Earth. They want humanity to participate of the INTERPLANETARY navigation but Russia and the United States with their Atomic experiments and their nuclear explosions, are clogging us, are preventing the members of the AUGUST scientific society from making us all the inhabitants of the Earth, partakers of the cosmic journeys. The TWO GREAT WORLD WARS which filled the world of pain and now the cold war with all the possibilities that it becomes hot and refill the world of blood and destruction are the main factors that impede the cultural interchange with the Martians and the cosmic journeys. There is no need for more cosmic rockets, the contact with Martians is already done it's a fact. Now what is needed to participate in the cosmic journeys is the DISSOLUTION OF THE “I”. As long as the “I” exists, there will be no PEACE, and unless there is PEACE, the interplanetary travels are impossible. At this precise moment in which we live, not COSMIC ROCKETS are needed, but the study of the “I” and its TOTAL DEATH. Thus, and only thus, the TRAVELS TO MARS will be possible. It is impossible to take MURDERERS to MARS, THIEVES, DRUNKARDS, GLUTTONS, GREEDY, MATERIALISTIC, MARXISTS, enemies of the eternal, PROSTITUTES, etc. On MARS only reigns PEACE and not even Governments, nationalities, armies and police are needed. On Mars there are no CRIMINALS and if one were born would be considered as sick and would be taken to an isolated sanatorium. Think gentlemen about what this means. Think of a world like that, in a world where the “I” no longer exists. Imagine for an instant an Earthling army invading MARS. Understand what such horror means, such barbarity. The author of this letter kindly BEG you gentlemen in the name of the Truth, end the Atomic explosions, end the cold war and start an era of Universal Spirituality. In a special way I ask the SOVIET UNION, suspend the broadcasting publicly and privately of the MATERIALIST DIALECTIC, and intensify the propaganda in favor of the SPIRITUALITY. Know Sir that all the inhabitants of the COSMOS worship the DIVINITY and the conquest of space is impossible without SPIRITUALITY. Please gentlemen: I beseech you on behalf of the inhabitants of the Earth, do not damage us more with your wars, hate to DIVINITY, nuclear explosions, etc., etc., etc. From the book COSMIC SHIPS – CHAPER IV SIGNED IN MEXICO ON THE 29 DAYS OF THE MONTH OF APRIL.
