Amanda Perna is a mom, wife, design expert, content creator, speaker, author, illustrator, stylist and entrepreneur. I gave myself permission......to stop SO much of what I was doing. I stopped podcasting, I paused brand camp and even my network marketing business.....and I got REALLY still. I realized the world within me was SO much bigger.....and something began to happen. I got quiet. I got curious. And without the noise of all the normal buzz of the distractions that I was used to, I started to be able to REALLY hear my inner voice. I follow the direction. I got more clear. I got into action, and that action led to more clarity. For 5 months, I became the caterpillar going into a business cocoon And in late August, my business emerged.....and she's flying high like a butterfly! My book went bestseller, I launched two new offerings that netted more than I earned last year and I saw the EXACT same things happening to my clients because of a concept I learned that has completely changed the way I do business and teach business strategy. It's understanding how to become an expert. Definition of an expert: a person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular area. It's about niching down into your uniqueness, owning your genius and your magic. It's ALSO about knowing where you are NOT a genius. What does this mean for you listening? I want to give YOU permission to step into who you are meant to be, to show up for those you're meant to serve, and to be able to use your unique experience to create massive impact (and income). To position yourself as an expert of your experience. To stop trying to be everything for everyone and to niche down to that sweet spot where you are confident, love what you are doing and operate from a place of total certainty in how you create transformative results for your clients and those you serve. Above all, I want you to understand that you have a unique expert experience. It's your experience, education, background and passions/interests! The mix of these means that NO ONE has the exact expertise you do. What you don't need....decades of experience, multiple degrees . What you do need....belief in self, an understanding of your processes and your results, permission to promote!! And....realize that A heart on fire is better than knowledge on ice. This season, I am going to bring you TOP experts in business and life, to give you tangible strategies and confidence to show up as the expert of your own life, and of course, design that life and business you love. - For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero ! How many times have you had an idea that would make your life easier? Jennifer Zuklie did, and gave that idea life, resulting in saving parents time, money and doing their part to save the earth! She is an entrepreneur, mother, and the founder and CEO of The Swoondle Society, an online member marketplace for trading children’s clothing and accessories. A veteran of the ecommerce industry, Jennifer realized the need for The Swoondle Society between having her daughter and her son. With an abundance of girls’ clothes, Jennifer couldn’t find a practical way to ensure they went to a good home—and began a children’s clothing swap in 2016 with 50 of her Brooklyn-based friends. The idea took off on a larger scale in 2017 when those friends began telling their friends. By 2018, The Swoondle Society was handling thousands of swaps per week. The Swoondle Society has grown into a national company with a several-person team. Jennifer primarily employs mothers and former creatives looking for a flexible way to reenter the workforce after having kids. Additionally, the company partners with Room to Grow to donate clothing to families in need—and recycles 100% of remaining textiles with Green Tree Textiles. These initiatives contribute to a circular economy and help decrease the amount of clothing ending up in landfills. They’ve just launched Swoondle layette boxes. They are packed with high-quality second-hand baby basics to kick-start baby's wardrobe. Packaged in an adorable gift box, they make a great shower or sprinkle gift for conscientious or second-time moms. Layette boxes include 20 hand-curated, top-condition items with a combined estimated retail value of $120 for only $39. This time of slow living, of being inside, of having many of aspects of our previous “normal life” no longer available to us, has led to causing us to look inward. Anyone else feeling frustrated? Unhappy? Stressed? Our ability to be flexible is directly related to our happiness! Happiness = reality - expectations It starts with the questions we ask ourselves, and in changing those WHY questions into WHAT. Eliminate the Why…. Why isn’t this working? Why me? Why does this always happen? Try instead…..What….. if this teaches me what I need? tools or resources do I need? could I do here? Every business starts with a thought or an idea. Most never are given a chance. They are thought about, or forgotten, or discussed but no action is taken. Our thoughts are our eggs…..they are a representation of ultimate potential. How many are actually given the opportunity to be BIRTHED? Doesn’t matter where you are in your business…..if you don’t have a business, think of this as the dreams that call out to you. The dream to spend more time on the thing that lights you up, that friends tell you that you’re amazing at, that you think about when your mind wanders. Now, once they are born…..if we abandon them, they’ll go to someone else. We have a soul contract with our creativity, just like we do with our children. It’s our job to give our ideas/business love. To support them, care for them, nurture them. Don’t give attention to the negative!! See it, adapt, but don’t focus on it! Be careful who you go to for advice! Would you listen to the advice of someone who wasn’t a parent? Or someone who treated their kids in a way you didn’t respect? Or someone who had never raised a child of the gender you are? There’s no such thing as perfection! We don’t expect to raise perfect children, we want to raise happy, well adjusted children who do good in the world. Our ideas have the power to change the world, just like our children do! For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero ! Dr. Sarah Mitchell is a chiropractor by training but she found her true calling empowering parents to teach their little ones to sleep when her first child just would not sleep. With 8 years of health education training, Sarah was shocked that she didn’t know how to get her son to sleep in an easy and sustainable manner. So she did her research and ended up finding her passion as a sleep consultant. Over the years of working with hundreds of parents, Dr. Sarah has realized that there is a disconnect between the idealism of parenting and the reality of it. We think getting your baby to sleep and parenting should be a natural instinctual experience. However it’s not usually that easy and this challenge leaves many parents feeling confused and defeated due to the the preconceived notion that they should “naturally” know what to do to help their child. Dr. Sarah’s goal isn’t to “fix” the sleep challenges but rather to teach parents the skills to manage the current sleep challenge and those that will be up coming. Her work with parents isn’t just about the sleep, it’s about figuring out who your little person is, who you are as a parent and what you thought your parenting journey would look like. Dr. Sarah wants parents to know that you can be loving, attached and well-rested. Dr. Sarah works with parents in high touch meaningful ways with her home visits in the SF Bay Area or private virtual consultations from all around the globe. She also created "Helping Babies Sleep School" which hosts her online sleep classes for ages 0 to 3.5 years . In March 2020 she'll be launching her membership site to continue to interact in a meaningful way with parents from all over. Unless you’re a work from home entrepreneur, the reality of working from home may be feeling VERY different from what you see entrepreneurs post on the gram! In fact, you may be missing the traffic, your commute and even your grumpy co-worker right now! In five years of working from home, four of them with kids and the first one with NO help while running three businesses, I had to fail forward often to figure out the tips I’m going to share with you! At work, you get distracted in the lunch room or by people popping by your office. You might be surprised how efficient you can be if you can use this pattern interrupt time to make new habits! Set expectations + boundaries When you are working, work. When you aren’t, don’t. Communicate, communicate, communicate. With your partners, your family + your boss! Release perfectionism! It doesn’t need to look pretty. Results are what is important. Understand each day is different, especially with kids (some days you get the nap, some you don’t)! Your Office Space Your bedroom is fine to use! Just make it a space where you can get a little privacy (if possible)! Don’t multi task with phone calls and laundry (I know, it’s tempting). Do squats instead to keep your energy level high! Go into your office with a BIG water bottle and some snacks, so you don’t leave it and get distracted! Put your phone away unless urgent. Connect your imessage to your computer so you don’t pick up the phone and end up on Instagram. Your Office Hours If possible, begin work at the same time you normally do!! And get dressed! When you are working, work. When you aren’t, don’t. Be ready to go 100% for 50% of the time. Use your lunch hour for connecting with your family/doing household tasks. WITH KIDS If you have kids, be willing to get creative. Wake up an hour earlier. Use nap time to be SUPER focused!!! If you give your kids screen time, use that time! Forgo the glass of wine at dinner for another 1-2 hours of productive time! The Warm Up + Cool Down Spend 10-15 minutes at the beginning of the day prioritizing what you’ll work on! Do the most important thing first! Brain Dump General Tasks Prioritize by Importance and Urgency Schedule Your Tasks + Priorities You can always answer non-urgent emails later in the day. At the end of the day, do a quick wrap up. Look at what you accomplished, see what works and didn’t and tweak for the next day! Set up your game plan for the next day! Own Your Time Own Your Time!! Power Sessions + Time Blocking! Timers!!!! Do 30-60 minutes of deep work (the stuff you must concentrate on) during a power session! Focus on 2-3 of these sessions in the morning, then save the less important tasks (phone calls, returning emails) for the afternoon when your energy might not be as high (unless phone calls are the most important part of your business). How often do you stay up late to catch up on housework or emails or to get ahead of the long to do list? Then wake up tired, feeling like just a little more sleep is needed? And suddenly, you’re already behind for the day and week? So you skip the workout, or the walk or hurry to grab something quick instead of preparing yourself something nourishing? I know I do that ALL the time. While I eat healthy and can tell you 100 reasons to meditate, when my own life gets hectic, which is ALL OF THE TIME, the first things to suffer are my movement, my sleep and giving myself the spaciousness of meditation or free time. In fact, I did that last night! I stayed up too late and woke up feeling behind. Feeling rushed and frantic today…..totally in the DO state, I forced myself to slow down. I pulled an oracle card by Rebecca Campbell - Deep Replenishment. Retreat. Rest. Be Held. And I spent some time really thinking and reflecting on Why we must fill/nourish/support ourselves first. When we are running on empty, in our do state, we are looking for other things and people to refuel us. If you’ve ever flown with a child, the flight attendant always reminds you to put on your mask first. You can’t support others if you aren’t supporting yourself first. When your inner well isn’t full, we look to other things to fill it Do you ask yourself, what nourishes me? What gives me joy?. What replenishes me? What does that deep replenishment look like? Create a deep replenishment menu. What are the simple things you can do that nourish your soul, that refill your cup and that make you feel rested in every sense? How many of you consider yourself a positive person? You can always find the light in every situation. Or, you know someone who is ALWAYS looking for the negative. How does that contrast make you feel? When things go poorly, how do we focus on the positive side while still being aware of the other side? If we can say good, it means we’re breathing. We are living. We are learning. If you don’t like the side of the coin that comes up, just flip it over. You have that choice. It’s synchronistic that this episode, my first BE moment since turning 40 this past Saturday, is episode 80, my year of birth! Ever since turning 39, I’ve been so looking forward to 40. My 20’s were all about working hard and learning HARD lessons about what didn’t fulfill me. My 30’s were about the journey of self discovery in what would fuel me in love, relationships and my profession. It was really about becoming me! In reflecting over the last decade, there were four major gifts that stood out to me as the highlights of the past 10 years. I sit down at my computer with a goal in mind and it happens. Write a list down. You need to meditate! You didn’t return that email! Thank your friend for the wonderful gift! Have you checked your dm’s? Don’t forget to order what’s needed for Luca’s valentine box at school. Have you drank enough water today? Why hasn’t she called you back? How did I just end up on social media on my phone when I sat down at my computer? In this age of extreme connection, we are more disconnected than ever. The pace of everything around us continues to move faster and intentionally slowing things down can feel like swimming upstream. We feel like we’re pulled in a million different directions, in our home life, our work life, even mentally. We tell ourselves these stories that we just need to stay up late responding to emails, or that cancelling our social plans, or skipping the workout will fix it. Or that we need to buy something to help us get organized. Or we just need to sleep. And as entrepreneurs, I feel like we fall into this trip more than ever, because we have no one that’s setting our schedule or our priorities! This anxiety can lead to extreme overwhelm where we feel like we are spinning, completely unable to move forward on ANYTHING! Or to anxiety attacks where we feel paralyzed, frightened or out of control. There’s a tool that can help quiet that noise, calm the anxiety. It’s been used by therapists for years as a way to create space from stressful feelings in any situation, especially around anxiety, PTSD, trauma and more. It’s called grounding. Or as my friend Kari Keating says “BE HERE NOW” It’s designed to bring our mind and bodies into alignment in this present moment, so we can slow down the spin and figure out the next step. So if you’re telling yourself “I don’t have time for these”, that’s when you need them the most. Here are a few of my absolutely favorite grounding techniques that will help you BE HERE NOW, with your body, in this moment. And tip….put away the electronics…..as they are usually what create or worsen the feeling of overwhelm. Just breathe. Breathing - inhale and exhale. Think or even say “in” and “out”. Notice how it feels. Place one hand on your stomach, the other on your chest. Visualize the breath going down to your toes, or even rooting your breath into the earth, and exhaling into the sky. Or that you’re a balloon, inflating and deflating. Basically, you’re meditating by being one with yourself and your breath. This also helps get your heart rate to normal and lowers your blood pressure. Get into nature. Take an observation walk, outside. Really focus on your footsteps, to the cadence, to the feelings of your feet touching the ground. Note what is around you, according to your senses. What you see, what you hear, what you feel, what you smell, what you taste. Self Soothing Self Care: Babies do it! V will suck on her fingers + touch her silk pillow when she’s tired or overstimulated and wants to put herself to sleep! Take a shower or bath. Really notice how things feel, the sensations, the sounds, temperatures, smells. Make yourself something soothing. Keep something at your desk for a mini little grounding ritual. Lip conditioner, facial mist, essential oils. Lay on the ground! Connect to the earth. Especially outside, where you can soak up the positive energy from earth. Documentary - Earthing. Move your body! Even 5 minute of aerobic movement, whether walking, skipping, jumping jacks or pushups will increase your endorphins. And if you’re a parent, you’re going to notice that many of these techniques are things we see kids do naturally! And there’s nothing more present than a child who doesn’t yet have advanced planning skills and is 100% focused on whatever is happening RIGHT now. On the BEING, not the doing. Right before I came to record this, I literally had my mind spinning with ALL of the thoughts and shoulds. I was about to go outside to practice some connection in nature, when my little guy came in with his valentine’s day box for school to decorate. And I decided to spend 10 minutes with him, with no agenda but being part of his creative process. The result? I’m grounded. I’m here, being, right now.

It’s been called a miracle drug, the Mother Nature’s medicine, the brain balancer, the best way to lose 5 lbs. What is this ? Sleep. And for my entire adult life (and most of my childhood), I’ve done everything to avoid it. Why? Because as a child, I used to have difficulty falling asleep. My brain would race and I’d be unable to shut down. I’d lay there for hours. And when I finally fell asleep, I would often have horrible nightmares. Once I learned to read, I’d sneak a flashlight under the covers and read for hours, until my battery died or my parents caught me! As a college student, I worked three jobs and full time hours to support myself. Most nights, I’d get home from waitressing or bartending in the middle of the night, crawl into bed to sleep 5 or 6 hours before class and do it all again. And in my 20’s, when real estate was booming, I’d work late into the night, then get up early to workout and be at work hours before we opened. My sleep has always been something that was my last priority. Every year I’d make impossible lists of goals and sleep more would be added, as a joke. Even as I’ve gotten older and realized it’s importance, I still didn’t make it a priority. And as a late night owl, I love the creativity of late night, but have also grew to love early morning routines. What gives? Sleep. What I’ve learned from all of this that I wish I could tell my 14 year old self? We need to not wait until our body shuts down and says no more. Or until our doctor prescribes us sleep. If we prioritize and balance rest, we can flow with rest, instead of grinding until we grind to an absolute stop. My challenge to you?. Today, take a nap. Go get a massage, reflexology, or take a hot bath and a delicious nap after. You deserve it, and you’ll feel so much more creative, generous and impactful when you’re rested and restored. And that’s where the magic exists. For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero ! Want a chance to win a $50 LuluLemon Gift Card? Embracing the magic - a time to pursue impact, energy + spirituality. The magic of rituals (morning routine), of friendships, of play. When I’m in my BE state, that’s when the magic happens. When I focus on feeling focused, in flow and abundant, the things that happen are delicious. A new question - How can I bring more light into this situation? Light is joy, understanding, compassion, support, empathy. With my child, my husband, my businesses, myself? Creating spaciousness. Releasing or putting on pause things that aren’t feeling aligned with me RIGHT now. Putting some projects on pause, finishing others, reducing the noise. Making time for play!!! Scheduling the unscheduled. Spending time outside. Rest, Restore + Heal. When we sleep, our body heals. When we meditate, we restore our mindset and reduce anxiety, the killer of creativity and fun. When we do affirmations, we restore our positivity. This is a time of rest, of a new consciousness. It’s not a time of grinding and pushing. That is so last decade. This is the time to slow down to speed up. Work Your Light cards - by Rebecca Campbell For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero ! Are you choosing to struggle BECAUSE of your limitations or to grow DESPITE them? I had to ask myself that Sunday night. My nanny came down sick with the flu in one of the most important weeks in my year. I had set aside all Monday to prepare for a keynote speech and workshop I was giving Tuesday for one of the largest accounting firms in the nation. The rest of the week, was finishing the last few edits on my book and running a healthy gut challenge in my wellness business. Suddenly, my 30+ hours of time to spend on these things disappeared. And I had some choices. To say "this always happens" and complain about the lack of resources that week.....or to get resourceful. I chose...... To ask for help. An incredible mama friend, Rachaell Mondino, watched Luca all afternoon while I was at my speaking engagement. I asked my housecleaner to watch Valentina. To lower my expectations.....of myself. I didn't have the 8 hours I expected to run through my speech, which was a new keynote. Instead of focusing on perfection, I focused on what would serve my audience the best. And put on blinders to the household tasks that weren't going to get done. To get extremely focused. I knew I had about 90 minutes a day during my best hours when Luca was at school and Valentina was napping. I did the most important things first and saved the shallow work items like responding to emails for the evening. While we miss our super nanny like crazy, this week has been a gift. It's reminded me I can be scrappy, focused, grateful and that a positive mindset and resourcefulness will always prevail when life happens!

Don’t lose site of what the holidays are about…...it’s not about gifts or obligations. Today’s episode is SO special because it combines EVERYTHING I’m passionate about…..strong female entrepreneurs, sustainability, following your purpose and supporting small businesses! Our guest today, Chandan Allen was born in India, and was already introduced to a rich heritage of textiles, hand-made crafts, spirituality, yoga and vegetarianism at a very young age. She later moved to London and studied fashion at Central Saint Martins, UK and honed her skills learning the art of European fashion. Chandan launched her label in 2009 with her first Mélange store in Cape Town, South Africa. Chandan’s belief in quality and attention to detail, led to establishing her own manufacturing in India, where each design gets its form and shape. A team of artisans and craftsman turn each design into a masterpiece keeping in mind attention to detail, quality and hand feel that differentiates the brands from its contemporaries. Chandan has marked her 10th Anniversary of her business with the launch of her first flagship store “Melange” at Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto. Being a mother of three children, a globe traveler and a happy Californian resident, Chandan is fierce in her values and beliefs! She supports ethical fashion, philanthropy, and gives back to the community, a happy vegetarian who supports PETA passionately. You get super excited to work on a new idea….you know this will change everything. You write down the steps, you commit to it! You even tell people for the added accountability! You schedule in the time for it, and then…….you can’t seem to get traction….you spend hours working in and around your idea but not ON your idea. Sound familiar? Why? Because you’re getting stuck in the shallow end. It’s a principal one of my coaches discussed years ago I hadn’t heard of, so I went down the google deep dive. And then realized why I so often felt BUSY but not productive. Shallow Work - Doesn’t create new value, can be performed while distracted, sometimes considered busy work. Steven Covey would consider these either urgent but not important, or even not urgent, not important. Think of the red email notification. Deep Work - tasks that create new value and are difficult!!! They need to be done without distraction and they will push your brain and creativity to the limit! This deep work is energetic equivalent of lifting a car off of a baby ….things that don’t seem possible are done! It’s how I created and launched my podcast the week before my daughter was born! It was a combination of an impending deadline ….motivation...and removing ALL distractions. I basically put myself on maternity leave and put up my out of office email response. Deep work is what allowed us to create Brand Camp Retreats in a WEEKEND!!! We holed up at a cozy house in Carmel and spent more than 16 hours working on avatars, possible products and content that is SO good, 90% of it has stayed in place through two years + 6 live events. The hard part about deep work? You need a few hours designated to devote! That’s hours of total focus, no distractions…..just a few stretch, water or meditation breaks! And the reality of working from home is that there are kids or laundry or dishes or mail or cleaning your desk or a million other distractions to pull you into the shallow end! Calendar it. That includes time, location and description. Distraction FREE environment: library or private room Make attainable action steps…..think of it like a navigation system. Lead measures, like how many hours spent, steps accomplished. Measure it - How can you track your productivity? Bathroom/food/internet. Plan ahead Give yourself a break….or two. Phone on airplane mode Social Media + Communication Detox Cave Days - where you can do ALL of these things….and PAY for it! Why pay? Because someone FORCES you to be accountable!! Because being around others doing the same thing is invigorating! Caveday.org - locations in NYC + LA! But even if you aren’t there, you can meet up with a few friends and fellow entrepreneurs to do this! My friend Dr. Sarah, who owns @helpingbabiessleep, comes over once a week and we do a deep dive. We chat for a few minutes, then just work across from each other in silence. We can accomplish more in an hour then I normally get done in several at my desk. Cave day ideas? It could be your BIG ideas…..creating a course, a business plan for your side hustle idea, writing a blog, finishing a paper OR it could be something that just requires a time block and will create space in your life, like organizing your google drive, doing your Christmas cards or unsubscribing from emails. Either way, you’re going to come out of it feeling lighter! So tomorrow, I have a self imposed cave day at the local library - finishing the editing of my book! I can’t wait turn off the phone, music, wireless and more and just EDIT!!
Her family and friends started to question her sanity when she was 6 months pregnant with my third child and decided to start my own business. She was working 6 days and putting in 65+ hour a week with her career at the Denver Broncos as marketing and sponsorship manager for 10 years when she knew it was time for a change. That change led her to the entrepreneurial space helping other women escape the rat race that I was in for over a decade. She lived the adrenaline + coffee addiction life trying to make big things happen with her brand, and now her mission is to champion other women as they walk through the same journey. Walking hand in hand with entrepreneurs and business owners as they work to make an impact in the world around them with their gifts and talents is her JAM. She created The Influencer Collective for the dreamers, shakers, and movers in this space who felt like she did when she was building her brand from the ground up! Sales = slimy. I NEVER wanted to be in sales…..I studied journalism because I loved to educate people! Yet 20 years later, I’ve overseen more than one billion in real estate sales and more than 20 million in nutritional sales. Why do we think that it’s slimy? The reality is….We are all either in sales or supporting sales. Every service requires customers and no business would thrive (or survive) without new customers and existing customers. Sales is just an energetic exchange that sometimes involves money. You sold your significant other on why you’d be a great partner. You sell your kids on why they should get dressed in the morning. You sell yourself on why working out is important. Which of those do you invest your energy into? And what do you receive back? A result. When it involves money, it just replaces another energy. For example, I needed a physical therapy and training that was $275 an hour. He was interested in learning to get published to up his credibility and exposure online and I charge $400+/hour for private brand coaching. I could have hired him and paid him, then had him hire me. OR we could do an energetic exchange of our services INSTEAD of for cash. An hour of training in exchange for 45 minutes of personal PR coaching. I LOVE being sold. What do I mean by this? I love having someone ask me great questions to find out how to better serve me. Sometimes I think I know why I want or don’t want something, but better questions get better answers. So when someone does a wonderful job of determining my needs + demonstrating to me how what they are offering will improve my life, chances are, I’ll purchase if it’s aligned with me (need vs want). If you have an issue around either “selling” something or being sold to, do a little self discovery. Did you know someone who was less than scrupulous? Or did you buy into pressure tactics and felt badly after because it made you feel disempowered? If you are in sales, the next three steps are going to assist you in overcoming price objections. If you aren’t, these are the three steps someone should take you through so that you feel not just good, but great, about the energetic exchange you are about to make! Your money (energy of time/work you’ve done) for the energetic exchange of the product or service you’re about to receive. Understand their pain points to determine what they want. The price is never too high if the value is great enough. Don’t prejudge. Address it first. Educate on the benefits, not the features. You’ll have _____ vs. you’ll have the blank TO______ Don’t apologize for price, even, address it first. People need to understand the per use/per day/per experience price. Reduce to the ridiculous For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero ! Want a chance to win a $50 LuluLemon Gift Card? I’ve been laughing every time I’ve been around this woman for the past two years! And idolizing her Madonna-esque arms and a booty that would inspire JoLo. Jessica is a former NCAA D1 athlete, wife, toddler mom, an IIN Certified Integrative Health Coach, an ACSM CPT & Stages Certified Cycle Instructor. Her love for movement kept her on a path to sharing physical health, but along her journey, she realized that achieving fitness required more than the gym or kitchen could offer. This lead her on the journey of truly finding what fitness & wellness really looked and felt like and now she is on a mission to help other women and female athletes achieve it. She creates a space & provides tools that allow women to truly step into their strength, gain deep confidence & live a balanced, active & healthy life. I don't know if I can do this. That's what was going through my mind Tuesday night. The night before I was recording my first LIVE, in person podcast. I was a bit freaked out about making sure my tech + equipment was right. After all, I'd had to record my first episode THREE times because I couldn't quite figure out the sweet spot of my mic. I was nervous because the stakes had just gotten a LOT higher. Normally, I reach out to my guests. This time, they reached out to me.....for a collaboration with one of the highest end outdoor shopping malls in the country. I felt some serious imposter syndrome.....would I be good enough? Would my listeners like it? I was the opposite of relaxed, joyous and abundant - my ideal BE state. A few weeks ago, I heard Sarah Pendrick of Girl Talk Network speak - dreams are the truth, fears are the lies Claim Your Dreams Despite Your Fears + Triggers. Be in RELATIONSHIP with your fears. You don’t overcome your fears, you learn how to work with them!! See your triggers + get curious. Instead of allowing it to freeze you. Ask, what lie are you going to tell me today? That lie is what is going to allow us to play small!! And I thought about this podcast -.....about my mission and vision. It's the idea of getting clear on who we are meant to be, how we want to feel and then designing our life around that. And that includes a LOT of uncomfortable growth. And I know you are all growing... YOU are SO worthy of these dreams. There is a reason they are given to you!! So I did the podcast!! And I'd lie if I said it went perfectly. Life never will. But I moved forward in messy action (though I did my best to minimize the mess apparent to anyone else) and I did it. And the reality is that the fear, the uncertainty......it disappears pretty quickly once you're not only committed to taking the step but you're mid stride. I finished the interview and on my drive back home, I was elated. Not because I had done it perfectly but because I had done it. And I know I'll continue to improve. But most importantly, because I didn't buy into the fears of what could have happened. Instead, I borrowed the belief of my future self until I became a little bit more of her that day. Our future self…..is the self where it is all possible. When we get into a heightened state, we are stepping into that future self and make decisions as her. SHE is our BE state!! Today’s episode is a casual chat with one of my FAVORITE human beings, my accountability partner, Kari Keating!! We discuss so many gems as mom entrepreneurs and female collaboration and accountability partners! - The Business Game Changer That Is FREE - Why You Should Only Talk to ONE Person on Social Media - Why Energetic Matches Are Vital In Collaboration - Balancing Time Building Businesses with Babies Kari’s Bio: Kari Keating is a business and growth coach, podcast host, speaker, author and mom to 3 boys. She had a 17 year career in corporate America where she cultivated skills in the areas of business strategy, sales and story telling working for companies such as Nike, Quiksilver, lululemon and other major retailers. After having her second baby in 2 years, she became an accidental entrepreneur when she starting using health and wellness products that she loved and launched herself into the network marketing industry. While managing her growing network marketing business and motherhood, she found herself struggling to find clarity in the chaos and hired her first business coach. It was in that interaction that she realized that all of the business acumen she had developed over the years could be used to help other entrepreneurs, just like her coach was helping her, launch, grow and scale their businesses. She then launched her coaching business and has worked with clients ranging from network marketers, coaches, photographers, recording artists, and many more but is MOST passionate about working with entrepreneurs who want to create businesses and brands that last. She’s incredibly passionate about helping women step into their purpose, ignite their passion and truly expand into the women they are called to be. My super power is seeing the opportunity in everything. And that’s also my kryptonite!! The normal person with a to do list, obligations, household task and a social life already feels pretty overwhelmed! You add on to that being an entrepreneur and you can fall into a black hole of options and opportunity that’s SO overwhelming! Monkey mind is a Buddhist term meaning "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable". Brain Dump It - literally write down everything. Business ideas, people to send birthday cards to, household tasks. anything that has been bothering you…. get it on paper. It takes a LOT of processing to have all these windows open on your mental computer. It leads to … What are important and urgent? What can you put in the “parking lot” - for a rainy day. Important + Urgent OR parking lot See the patterns emerge. Categorize into action steps Categorize those important and urgent….. Cleaning your desk IS NOT one of them!! What could you do TODAY to eliminate some noise? What can you do THIS WEEK? THE FOLLOWING WEEK? This will give you mental space, focus on what should be done first and a clear path to do it. Most importantly, it creates SPACIOUSNESS for you to get into flow. For more info on the host, visit, www.rebeccacafiero.com and follow Rebecca on Instagram @rebeccacafiero !
