I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of consistency. The dictionary says Consistency is conformity in the application of something. That something is the action your choose. What do you want to be consistent in? What do you need to be consistent with to accomplish your goals? Some of the words associate with consistency are Words like steady or steadfast, stable or stability, constant orderliness, dependable, reliable, lack of change or deviation. Anthony Robbins said It is not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, It is what we do consistently. Hello, my friends and welcome to the Discover your Personal Power Podcast. I am so excited to be with you guys today. Sometimes it can be really fun to try something new. A new hobby or a new place or new food, but sometimes it can be hard to try something new. Even though we may want to try that new hobby or place or new food, there is that little bit of apprehension, a little bit of anxiety, a few nerves in the pit of your stomach, because of the unexpected, the unknown. We are inevitably faced with first times and first times and first times. We try this and then we try that. There is no data or evidence-based protocols to fall back on because this hasn’t happened before.It is so exhausting because we literally are Inventing the wheel. We are not re-inventing it, we are building it, from scratch. We are constructing new rules of engagement. Fabricating face coverings and constructing plastic fortresses to fortify a barricade between you and me. This wheel has not turned before in our lifetime. We are having to start from scratch. We are trying to become experts in reverse engineering something that we really don’t even know what it is. Think of all the possibilities that might happen and could happen and then use our deductive reasoning or backward thinking skills and figure out how to mitigate the droplets and the air and the particles and microbes so that might keep everyone safe. Limiting beliefs are often just the stories or meanings we give to events in our life. Limiting beliefs keep us stuck and prevents us from seeing the infinite possibilities of creating a vibrant and meaningful life. The foundation of limiting beliefs is usually Fear. Fear can keep us from learning a new skill because you think it would be too difficult to grasp. It can keep us from having a vibrant social life we desire because we don’t want to feel awkward in social situations. Fear can keep us from meeting challenges or taking opportunities that seem too daunting and overwhelming. I hope you enjoy it!Peggy

Your beliefs are the master commanders of your behavior and your results. Beliefs control our bodies and how we respond to crises, criticism, and opportunities. They tell us what to notice, what to focus on, what it means, and what to do about it. Beliefs create our thoughts. The VIA Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS), formerly known as the "Values in Action Inventory," is a proprietary psychological assessment measure designed to identify an individual's profile of character strengths. Take some time this week and may a VIA for yourself.
