Steve King The Superdep Bassist “This is Steve. Steve plays bass. Steve sings a bit as well.” …Of course, that's what he would have you believe but there is considerably more to him than that. Steve King has been a freelance musician and in “the business” for close to 30 years now and has built a reputation for being one of the most flexible and versatile bassists in the country with a handy sideline in vocals and a fantastic ear for harmony. Equally at home playing pop, rock, Latin, funk, jazz, pantomime and musical theatre on both bass guitar and double bass, Steve has made his name as a “SuperDep” - someone who can step in at the very last minute and make it sound like he has been performing with that band for several years. From his roots in Medway and the Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra Steve now gigs all over the world with “pretty much anyone who needs a bass player” but performs most regularly with former X-Factor contestant Ben Mills, David Alacey's Rat Pack tribute, Paul Da Vinci (The Rubettes, Tight Fit) and James Bond tribute orchestra Q The Music as well as frequent guest appearances with bands such as The Chillbillies and Norwich based function band Beat Connection. Past appearances have also included musical theatre shows Beyond The Barricade and Mad About The Musicals, Roy G Hemmings Dictionary of Soul, Suspiciously Elvis, ABBA Gold and big bands The Len Phillips Orchestra, String of Pearls and Five Star Swing. Central Station - Stories from Outback Australian Cattle Stations
in today’s episode I am sitting down with Ben Mills … who, as you heard in the introduction, came onto the podcast very willingly and with much enthusiasm. If you’re a long time listener of the podcast, you’ll be familiar with Ben’s wife Caitlin, who featured in episodes 29 and 33. In this episode Ben takes us through the experience of being a first time cattle station manager during a record flood which was then followed by drought. This podcast series is sponsored by the legends at Pioneer Water Tanks. Designed for Australia’s harsh and demanding conditions, Pioneer Water Tanks are manufactured using strong and durable, fully recyclable 100% Australian Zincalume® or Colorbond® steel. Their range of tanks are available from 12,000 to 500,000 litres in our standard range or can be custom built up to 3.0 million litres. To protect your valuable water assets and access it where and when you need it, insist on Pioneer Water Tanks - available Australia wide. This episode is supported by Milne Feeds. Milne feeds has been the leading provider of livestock feed in WA for over 100 years, and is now proudly servicing the NT too. Their early weaner product is a nutritionally balanced pellet for feeding to pastoral calves and young weaners, and has been developed with their hyfibre technology to reduce the risk of acidosis. Milne feeds also have a range of products available for beef and dairy cattle, sheep, and horses. Find out more at milne.com.au

Ben Mills is the founder of Shelter, a space that combines fitness classes with relaxation and wellness. Shelter incorporates spin classes and boxing with ice baths, saunas and a custom juice bar - and Ben has big plans. We talk about the story behind Shelter, how to capitalise on the ‘Australian' elements of a brand, particularly with a view to market that internationally, and why Ben wants to take Shelter overseas. We also talk about the name of the brand - and I don't hold back with my thoughts! Join the Facebook Group. Follow Mark Bouris on Instagram, LinkedIn & YouTube. A midweek solo show from Andre Domingues. He starts off with talking about how keeping your negatives close to you helps with finding hidden gems ready for printing, hands it off to Ben Mills for a Call In Camera Review of the Minolta HiMatic 5, then returns to announce (gasp!) that he's selling his Leicas (and why). It’s the second last episode of Product to Product’s second season! As we reach our final stretch of exploring the human side of product, we’re joined by Ben Mills, Head of Product at Venmo, this episode. Overseeing a team of 11 product managers, Ben is a step removed from managing the actual product at Venmo. Instead, he’s managing the PMs responsible for different slivers of their product. The thing is, managing other PMs can get messy since PMs will undoubtedly have their own opinions on how the product should work. Our CEO Latif Nanji sits down with Ben to discuss how he navigates the messiness of managing all these PMs. How does he provide guidance versus micromanaging? How does he balance being process-oriented and progress-oriented? And how does a product team lead handle hard decisions? It’s a conversation that’s beneficial not only to product team leads, but also any PMs looking to understand their leads more. You can subscribe to Product to Product on iTunes, Google Play or Spotify, or get the latest episodes delivered to your inbox by subscribing here.
