The Brady-Brees matchup didn't live up to the hype—unless you wanted to see to 40-something men struggle badly, in which case it very much did live up to the hype. But in the end, the Bucs D took the game into its own hands, and Devin White flashed some nifty ball-carrying skills as the Bucs earned a trip to Lambeau. Jenny and Gary also discuss... *After a scary head injury for Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs use some Henne heroics to hold off the Browns. *A look at the Deshaun Watson trade market, as the star QB looks poised to demand a trade out of Houston *The Bills and Ravens offenses struggled through the wind, the importance of running after you intercept the ball, and why Saturday wasn't a referendum on the Ravens' offense, but did show they need help on the outside. *Matt LaFleur gets the better of old man McVay, as the Packers are the one offense this weekend that seemed to be operating at peak efficiency. *We also have fantasy football talk with Michael Fabiano, Brandon Staley lands with the Chargers, Super Bowl "picks" and much more. First topic is sports. We cover what will be the Medicare/Geritol/Old Timer's Bowl. We'd love to hear your suggestions for what the Brady/Brees game could be called this weekend. And we have Chicago baseball news. Tech update: we never heard from our hacker. If you were a good hacker, you would know how to reach out to us. Or else, you can reply to us on Twitter or leave a comment on the website. The juicy part of the podcast is the book update. John talks about his review and personal working of "Tiny Habits" by BJ Fogg. Mike discusses his review of the first chapter of "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" by Mark Manson. Finally, we give an update on the major challenge of our DietBet Challenger. DietBet, from WayBetter, provides a 6 month Transformer game. And we give an update on our progress.

Earl Thomas in the future stay off snapchat. And no offense but aren't you a little old to be on that site anyway? Bucs @ Saints week 1. We don't have to wait long for Brady-Brees to battle. When that will actually happen no one has a clue.Tomorrow is 50 years since the Knicks won their first title and 13 year old Spike Lee was there. They won again in 1973. Spike hopes they win one in their 25 year old son's lifetime. As long as Dolan owns the team don't hold your breath.
Rudy and Ray are back with a Free Agency Edition of The GoldCast. We start by discussing all the big news around the league including the biggest news of them all: Tom Brady leaving the Patriots. We then discuss how we feel about the other big signings of the past couple days. Then we end with a deep dive into all the 49ers free agency moves: Buckner, Armstead, Ward, and give the Niners grades on their first two day moves. What say you, GoldCast Nation? Do you think we should've traded Buckner? Do you like that we have the 13th pick in the draft? Do you prefer keeping Armstead over Buckner? Did the Niners make the right decision in keeping Jimmy G and not going for Tom Brady? Patrick recaps the Wild Card weekend, plus Tom Brady and Drew Brees?
Donnerwetter!

Steelers Nation: Standing Up to a Ravens Fan Le’Veon has once again demonstrated an puzzling lack of judgement, this time unrelated to football, but similarly linked to his personal wealth. Where is he getting his advice?! Listen to the 911 call here. A Steelers Outpost host walks into a bar...... It's a true story... I was listening to the bartender extol the virtues of his foray into DIY graphic design and t-shirt creations (they were pretty cool). I offered my DIY experience in learning how to put together a podcast. When a heretofore silent patron at the bar overheard the name of our podcast, he said "I would be remiss if I didn't tell you I'm a Ravens fan." Really?! Not, "Steelers suck! The Ravens will destroy you!". Only in Washington. The point is, how do people adopt sports teams as their religious denomination? This Ravens fan wasn't even from Baltimore (he just likes the color purple.).... (Really, he said that - "When I found out their jerseys were purple, it was a done deal.) Nick's endless defense of Big Ben is stymied once again by Ben's reference to his recent interview comment; "It's been a little crazy the last few years, maybe more so than usual that we're used to dealing with. To kind of get back to quote unquote normalcy is kind of nice. Chis Simms is releasing his annual Top 40 QBs in stages. He has Brady & Brees at #9 and #10 respectively, eliciting OUTRAGE from the proletariat. Is he wrong? Not the point. We argue that the naysayers are not considering CONTEdXT.
