There's a heavy antipodean influence on this week's Independent Music Podcast, with a whole heap of wonderfully varied sounds with their roots in Oceania. From the stunning experimental folk of Maxine Funke, to the beautiful pop of Carla Dal Forno, through to ‘horrible metal from YANWYTYA, there's a broad spectrum of noise. Elsewhere, Sarathy Korwar's new record gets us off to a strong start, whilst the intercontinental drones and poetry of Karen & Peter transports us to the dusky landscapes of West Yorkshire and upstate New York. For the patrons we also have underground experimental hip-hop, crazy obtuse pop from Japan's Hitomi Moriwaki, and more. To listen to the full episode, please join our Patreon: patreon.com/independentmusicpodcast.
Ci accompagnano Invisible Church e Marie Davidson, Paul Beauchamp, Carla Dal Forno, Dead Can Dance, e The Cure.

Tarcar: Tarcar feature the music of Tarquin Manek and Carla Dal Forno, who also play in bands Bum Creek and Mole House respectively. They weave some kind of space pop using a drum machine amongst many other instruments. I’ve noted it’s pretty hard to find out info online about the band – they’re that new. This set was recorded at the Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood Victoria back in June this year where the group played the Greg Boring LP launch. Other bands on the bill included the aforementioned Greg Boring , Gurner, and Free Choice Duo. Recorded live at The Gasometer Hotel. Wonderfuls: Wonderfuls record Salty Town was one of the best Brisbane releases of the 2012. An eccentric duo of Robert Vagg and Danny McGirr with a skill for detailing the ravaging nature of the everyday. Live Delay were lucky to catch up with the group when they played The Tribal Theatre back in May 2013 as part of Guilt Retreat. Recorded and mixed by Will Clark. Recorded at The Tribal Theatre, Brisbane. Airing details: Originally via Zed Digital, 8-9pm, Friday 15 August 2013. Show production and engineering: Darragh Murray. Thanks: Tarcar, Shaun Prescott, Will Clarke.
