In this episode of I.A.M, I discuss in detail my experience with an infertility clinic that I ultimately never returned to. As fertility and infertility warriors it is imperative that we feel connected and build strong rapport with our RE's and nursing staff. After all, we spend a vast amount of time and large sums of money on our journey's to parenthood. As a patient going through IUI, IVF, fertility drugs, egg donor, sperm donor etc. we should understand every step of the process thoroughly and feel comfortable asking questions. Being an advocate for yourself or spouse will ensure less stressful cycles and ease anxieties. In this fourth episode, we have Amy walking us through her diagnosis of endometriosis as a teen and her infertility journey to date. Amy began trying to conceive six months prior to her wedding in September of 2015. Two years go by with no success of conceiving and Amy decides to have laparoscopic surgery to remove stage four endometriosis. After her surgery, Amy's doctor put her in medically induced menopause for four months. This would allow her body to heal properly without menses. Once the four months were completed, Amy and her husband became pregnant naturally. At 20 weeks(5 months), it was revealed during the anatomy scan that Amy's baby boy had more than one heart condition and other abnormalities. Amy and hubby's baby was born stillborn at 21 weeks gestation. Amy and her husband tried to conceive naturally again for 8 months without success. They then started their IVF journey which lead them to multiple rounds of IVF. He told friends that if they nominated his personal show for a business podcast award, he would eat one of those foods.
