There's nothing quite like the electric buzz of a FASTer Way event. The hugs. The breakthroughs. The “I'm not alone in this” moments. In this episode, Amanda spills why our live gatherings are pure magic for connection, accountability, and transformation — and drops a hint that even more in-person experiences are coming your way. But first… a revelation! Amanda recently discovered she's allergic to Florida. Yes, really. That revelation sent her down an unexpected rabbit hole into the world of mold toxicity. Those nagging symptoms — depression, brain fog, stubborn fatigue, and that strange “wired but exhausted” feeling — might not just be “life”... they could be mold talking. When Amanda spends time at her home in Costa Rica, the difference is instant. “It is like a veil lifted,” she says, and she can see just how much her environment has been impacting her health. Now, she's on a targeted healing protocol: a low histamine diet, strategic supplements, and regular bloodwork with Dr. Stephen Cabral. (Hot tip: reheating leftovers can trigger a histamine spike — who knew?) She's even considering tearing down her home and rebuilding it from scratch with specialists to ensure it's truly mold-free. And because stress can be just as sneaky as mold…let's talk cortisol belly. If you've got stubborn midsection fat, energy crashes, or you're up all night and dragging all day, you might be living in cortisol overdrive. That's where our 5-Day Cortisol Reset comes in. Starting August 18, for just $20, you'll get smart workouts, a delicious meal guide, and a never-before-seen macro + fitness cycle to rebalance your stress hormones. This is our biggest mini-program EVER — and it's exactly what you need to flatten cortisol belly, boost energy, and finally feel calm, clear, and in control. Join the 5-Day Cortisol Reset → Sign Up Here (Starts Aug 18) Oh, and one more thing — be on the lookout for an upcoming deep-dive podcast episode all about mold toxicity and histamine intolerance. SaVon and Alex kick off with personal stories about summer burnout, traffic woes, and the luxury (and limitations) of car AC. They then dig into a viral tweet that reshaped how they view their creative identity (6:00) before breaking down how DEI rollbacks have dried up podcast ad money and shifted the media landscape (12:42). From there, they react to Diddy being denied bond while awaiting sentencing (23:42), discuss the downfall of Salt Bae, and revisit Dame Dash's legacy—asking whether pride cost him long-term sustainability (38:10). Next, they speak on Bobbi Althoff announcing the end of her podcast and question if her platform was ever built to last (45:32), then tackle the randomness of Gillie vs. Johnny Manziel (55:06) and Nicki Minaj vs. Dez Bryant (1:01:05). They close with a review of Metro Boomin's 'A Futuristic Summa' and what it says about regionalism in Hip-Hop (1:09:45), Bas' latest project and the state of his relationship with Dreamville (1:26:05), and much more! Starting August 21, ESPN will officially enter the direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming space with a full-fledged service that doesn't require a cable subscription. Priced at $29.99/month, this new ESPN offering isn't just a beefed-up version of ESPN+. It's a digital replacement for the traditional cable bundle — and it may mark the beginning of the end for how we've watched sports for decades. With this move, ESPN is finally giving fans full access to live sports, original shows, and premium content directly through an app — no cable login, no middleman, no bundles. The service comes as ESPN's parent company, Disney, is working on a groundbreaking deal: giving the NFL an ownership stake in ESPN itself. That deal, pending regulatory approval, would make the NFL not just a content partner but a literal co-owner in the media company broadcasting its games. That's big.It signals a seismic shift in the power dynamics of sports media. As leagues like the NFL gain leverage through ownership and direct distribution, cable's hold on the sports world weakens. But that's not the only major player entering the fray. Fox is also launching Fox One, a new $20/month DTC streaming service that will offer access to all its sports, news, and entertainment content — including NFL games, World Series broadcasts, and more. Now, with ESPN and Fox One going direct, the big question is: are we finally heading toward à la carte sports streaming? Not quite — but we're closer than ever. These separate services might soon evolve into a sports streaming bundle, combining the likes of ESPN, Fox, and perhaps even other networks like TNT or NBC. The goal: give fans a streamlined, digital-first way to access all their favorite teams and leagues without jumping through multiple apps — or worse, sticking with overpriced cable packages. For consumers, the shift presents both promise and problems. On one hand, you're finally getting the flexibility and control streaming has long promised. On the other, stacking $29.99 for ESPN, $20 for Fox, and potentially $15-$20 for other services quickly adds up.Still, this is a turning point. Sports has long been the glue holding cable together. But now, the biggest names in sports media are pulling that glue apart — and replacing it with apps, bundles, and direct deals that favor digital-first fans.If you're a diehard sports viewer, this is your cue to start reevaluating your subscriptions. The way you watch football this fall may never be the same again.

Time keeps moving, and this week on Tuesday, the 22nd, we shift from the watery flow of Cancer into the fiery, bold energy of Leo and the heart of summer. Leo Season is when everything feels alive and abundant. This is our time to step into the spotlight as the main character of our lives, remembering we're not just the star—we're the director, writer, casting agent, and set designer of our story. This Leo Season comes with a lot of reflection energy, thanks to Mercury retrograde in Leo and three other planets retrograde too. All this retrograde energy is pushing us to review our “life movie.” Are we happy with the story we're telling? Do we love the setting, the people we've cast, the plot, and even how we've written our own character? Or is it time to rewrite the script into something more joyful, abundant, and magical? It might not feel easy right now. The second half of July through August 6 is intense—maybe the most challenging stretch of the year. But hang in there, because the energy softens soon. Starting August 6th, a Grand Water Trine brings a wave of ease and everything will flow more smoothly. Relief is just around the corner. We also have a New Moon in Leo on Thursday, the 24th. This moon reminds us that the highest vibration of Leo is simplicity. Like the lion, we don't need to prove or push, we can just be. This New Moon invites us to strip away the noise, release control (especially the control we put on ourselves), and reconnect with what's real and essential. It's a powerful reset point to step into a new chapter with confidence and clarity. With this New Moon, all the retrogrades, and Uranus shaking things up in Gemini, the universe is basically handing us a pause button. It's saying, “Reflect. Rethink. Reset.” We're in a 9 year, a year of endings and beginnings, and after all the shifts we've been through, it's time to consciously create what's next. This Leo Season, let's own every part of our story and direct our lives like the epic, soul-aligned blockbusters they're meant to be. I'm Stacey Simms and every other Friday I bring you a short episode with the top diabetes stories and headlines happening now. XX Sernova is partnering with Eledon Pharmaceuticals to test a new immunosuppressive drug in its ongoing clinical trial for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The drug called tegoprubart is designed to protect transplanted islet cells without harsh side effects. The current treatment is known for its potential toxicity, especially towards insulin-producing beta cells, and its adverse side effects, making it less than ideal for islet cell therapy in T1D. Tegoprubart has already shown promise in earlier trials, helping T1D patients achieve insulin independence with better graft survival and fewer side effects. This next phase of Sernova's trial (Cohort C) will combine Eledon's drug with Sernova's Cell Pouch, an implantable device that houses insulin-producing cells. In earlier phases, six participants stopped needing insulin completely, with results lasting years. Sernova also plans to use stem cell-derived islet-like clusters from partner Evotec to create a next-gen therapy. If all goes well, a new clinical program could launch in 2026. https://www.streetwisereports.com/article/2025/07/15/biotech-partnership-to-revolutionize-diabetes-treatment.html XX Researchers at Yale School of Medicine, funded by Breakthrough T1D, are evaluating GTT@home, a new finger-prick, at-home glucose tolerance test, to monitor early-stage type 1 diabetes (T1D) in individuals with T1D autoantibodies. Developed by Digostics (Dih-jos-tiks), the test offers a simpler, less invasive alternative to clinic-based oral glucose tolerance tests. The study aims to assess its accuracy, usability, and acceptance, potentially paving the way for wider use in early T1D detection and monitoring. The results of the trial will inform future regulatory submissions for GTT@home use in T1D, which already has regulatory approval in the UK, Europe and other regions for other types of diabetes. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/digostics-announces-university-trial-home-164300142.html XX LifeScan announced that it entered into a restructuring support agreement and, to implement it, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. As the process moves forward, LifeScan plans to operate in the ordinary course of business. It expects to emerge from chapter 11 by the end of the year. LifeScan develops the OneTouch Bluetooth-connected blood glucose meter and mobile diabetes app that provide simplicity, accuracy and trust in diabetes management. XX New study looks at quality of life and cost of AID systems. This was done in Finland which has the highest prevalence of T1D in the world. The results show automated insulin delivery pumps significantly improved quality of life and reduced diabetes-related complications. The quality-adjusted life expectancy increased by an average of 2.3 years for individuals using an automated insulin delivery pump. Although the overall costs of automated insulin delivery pump treatment were higher than those of conventional insulin pump treatment, its cost-effectiveness ratio was well below the generally accepted willingness-to-pay threshold of 50,000 euros in Finland. This is the first cost-effectiveness study of automated insulin delivery pumps conducted in Finland. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2025-07-automated-insulin-delivery-effective-treatment.html XX Blue Circle Health expands into the 11th state: Louisiana! This is Free, comprehensive virtual clinical care, education, and support program for adults with type 1 diabetes In addition to serving adults with type 1 diabetes in Louisiana, our program is also active in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Missouri, Iowa, Ohio, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Delaware. The program serves as an extension of participants' existing care teams and ensures continuity of care The organization hopes to inform new care models and policies that remove barriers to healthcare People with T1D over 18 years of age who speak English or Spanish are eligible to enroll. To sign up directly, refer a person living with T1D, or learn how you can partner with Blue Circle Health, visit www.bluecirclehealth.org. XX A new study comparing three popular diets—intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating, and continuous calorie cutting—found that all can help people with type 2 diabetes lose weight and lower blood sugar. But one diet stood out: the 5:2 intermittent fasting plan, where participants eat normally five days a week and restrict calories on two. It led to better results in fasting blood sugar, insulin response, and sticking with the plan. Although researchers identified improved HbA1c levels, and adverse events were similar across the three groups, the IER group showed greater advantages in reducing fasting blood glucose, improving insulin sensitivity, lowering triglycerides, and strengthening adherence to the dietary interventions. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/07/250715043351.htm XX MIT students have developed an implantable device.. for use during emergency low blood sugars. The new implant carries a reservoir of glucagon that can be stored under the skin and deployed during an emergency — with no injections needed. The researchers showed that this device could also be used to deliver emergency doses of epinephrine, a drug that is used to treat heart attacks and can also prevent severe allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock. The device contains a powdered form of glucagon and can be remotely triggered—either manually or automatically by a glucose monitor—to release the hormone when blood sugar drops too low. No word on next steps to make this commercially available. https://news.mit.edu/2025/implantable-device-could-save-diabetes-patients-low-blood-sugar-0709 XX We've covered T1D1 before, this is an insulin calculator app – there's more to it than that.. it was created by 13 year old Drew who lives with type 1, but removed from the apps stores a few years ago, along with other non fda cleared apps. Drew who is now 18, Tells us they just submitted to the FDA and are optimistic about being reinstated. https://www.instagram.com/t1d1app/ XX XX 1'm Brodie Sargent, a Type 1 diabetic raised in Mudgee, NSW, and currently living in Wollongong. Starting August 26th, I'll be running a marathon every day for 26 days, and on the 27th day, I'll be finishing with Western Sydney's Half Ironman. The current world record for the most consecutive marathons run by a Type 1 diabetic male is 25 and I'm aiming to break it. I'm doing this to inspire others, diabetic or not, to challenge themselves and not let anything hold them back. Any donation is greatly appreciated and supports a cause I truly believe in. The Type One Foundation focuses on support, connection, awareness, and advocacy for diabetics across Australia. They run online and in-person events for diabetics and their families, and also offer care packages to those newly diagnosed. I was diagnosed at 15, and it was a tough time for me and my family, we had no history or understanding of diabetes. I was already a shy and awkward kid, and I struggled to speak up about how much it affected me. I started running with my roommate just to kill time but it quickly took over my life. Feeling stuck and unsure where I was heading, I decided to make a change and try to help anyone out there feeling the same way. You can follow my journey on Instagram: @typerun_ XX Launched during children's congress To further promote inclusivity and tackle the stigma associated with the condition, Mattel partnered with Breakthrough T1D, a global organization dedicated to type 1 diabetes research and advocacy, to launch its first Barbie with type 1 diabetes. This partnership marks a major milestone in Mattel's commitment to greater representation, and highlights Breakthrough T1D's pivotal role in ensuring visibility for the type 1 diabetes community. The doll is part of the Barbie Fashionistas line and includes key diabetes management tools modeled accurately with the help of Breakthrough T1D. The type 1 diabetes Barbie wears a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) secured with Barbie-pink, heart-shaped tape, and has an insulin pump at her waist. She also comes with a CGM-tracking smartphone, a pastel blue purse, and a blue polka dot outfit – blue being the color that symbolizes global diabetes awareness. As part of a broader initiative to elevate voices in the type 1 diabetes community, Barbie also partnered with two global role models living with type 1 diabetes: Peloton Instructor Robin Arzón and model Lila Moss. Robin Arzon Barbie Image Credit: Breakthrough T1D and Mattel Mattel's one-of-a-kind doll based on Arzón features her signature yellow outfit and a crown-shaped CGM on the back of her arm. In interviews, Moss has highlighted the positive impact that the type 1 diabetes Barbie's visibility has already had, saying she receives daily messages from young people who feel less insecure about wearing their diabetes devices thanks to her public advocacy. When Linxi Mytkolli, director of patient engagement at Diabetes Action Canada and person with diabetes, heard about the new “Dia Barbie,” she said she teared up. “I grew up loving dolls, but I never saw one that reflected the reality I now live with – until Dia Barbie. Seeing a doll with a CGM, insulin pump, and even heart-shaped medical tape felt surreal. It's playful, powerful, and personal all at once,” said Mytkolli. Mytkolli also emphasized that representation and visibility in toys and media can help chip away at shame. “I've heard from so many people, especially those diagnosed in childhood, who delayed using tech like pumps or CGM because it felt like a punishment. Visibility in toys helps normalize these devices and makes kids feel like they're not alone or ‘othered.' It turns stigma into something softer – something that can be talked about, shared, even celebrated,” Mytkolli said. And its impact goes beyond people living with diabetes. Laura Pavlakovich, who is the founder and CEO of You're Just My Type and has lived with type 1 diabetes since age five, shared that this representation is equally crucial for those without diabetes, as it demystifies the condition and challenges stereotypes. “This kind of representation builds a vital bridge of empathy, illustrating that living with diabetes is simply a part of life for millions. It's an essential tool for educating the public and cultivating a more inclusive and supportive society for everyone,” said Pavlakovich. Pavlakovich shared her personal experience of growing up with diabetes and how this will provide validation for those with the condition who often feel unseen. “I vividly remember growing up with a 'my twin' doll, custom-made to look just like me, yet she always lacked the crucial part of my daily reality: an insulin pump. To finally see a Barbie, an iconic figure in childhood play, accurately depict someone living with type 1 diabetes, complete with her devices and pump, is truly a monumental moment,” said Pavlakovich. To celebrate the launch, Barbie donated dolls to the Breakthrough T1D 2025 Children's Congress in Washington, D.C., where 170 young advocates for type 1 diabetes from around the world met with lawmakers to raise awareness. Priced at $10.99, the doll is now available on Mattel Shop and at retailers nationwide. While this is a huge win for enhancing the representation of children living with diabetes, it doesn't end there. There is still significant work to be done to improve access to diabetes medication and technology. “It is not lost on me that Barbie has more access to diabetes tech than many, if not most, people with diabetes globally,” said Mytkolli. “Representation and access – we deserve both.” By bringing a common but misunderstood condition into children's toy boxes, the new type 1 diabetes Barbie is more than a toy. It's a symbol of pride, visibility, and the message that children with diabetes can live full, empowered lives. As Mytkolli said, “Whether a child is living with diabetes, or loves someone who is, this doll quietly says, ‘You're not broken. You belong.'”

In this inspiring episode of De Donkere Kamer Podcast, I speak with Clément Cheroux — one of the most respected photography historians and curators of our time. Formerly chief curator at MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Clément now leads the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson.We explore the unique role of the curator as a bridge between the artist and the audience, and why archives are far more than historical records — they are living sources of creative insight. Clément reflects on his decades-long relationship with photography, his obsessive image-viewing practice, and how he helps shape narratives around iconic and emerging photographers alike. This is a thoughtful conversation about trust, creative responsibility, and why — even in a world flooded with images — the act of truly looking still matters. Are you ready to use your summer with intention and elevate your practice as a photographer?Starting August 1st, I'm launching The Daily Frame — a 20-part mini podcast series (10 minutes a day) that dives into four pillars essential to your growth: creativity, entrepreneurship, mindset, and what's shifting in the photo industry. For just €8.88, you'll receive daily audio boosts that are short, sharp, and transformative. Why a small fee? Because what you pay attention to, transforms. Welcome to Top of the Morning by Mint.. I'm Nelson John and here are today's top stories. Fed Hits Pause—Again For the fourth time this year, the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates steady at 4.25%–4.5%, citing “diminished but elevated” economic uncertainty. Fed Chair Jerome Powell pointed to the lingering effects of Trump-era tariffs, noting that while uncertainty peaked in April, it hasn't fully cleared. FASTag Freedom: ₹3K Toll Pass from Aug 15 India's road warriors, rejoice! Starting August 15, a ₹3,000 FASTag-based annual toll pass will be available for private vehicles. It covers 200 trips or a full year—whichever comes first. The aim? Reduce travel costs, cut long waits at toll booths, and simplify payments. Announced by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, the pass is part of a bigger push toward seamless highway travel. The pass will be available via the Rajmarg Yatra App and NHAI's website. It comes amid rising toll charges—up over 3% in FY25 and expected to rise further. To complement the effort, a GNSS-based tolling system is also on the way, allowing for distance-based tolling without physical toll plazas. The government will absorb any revenue shortfall to keep concessionaires whole. Trump Thanks Pakistan's Army Chief for Restraint In an unusual diplomatic move, US President Donald Trump hosted Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir at the White House, thanking him for “not going into the war” with India. The lunch meeting was notable for its absence of senior civilian officials. Trump called it “a win” that two nuclear powers—India and Pakistan—chose peace. He also revealed they discussed Iran, adding, “They know Iran very well… and he agreed with me.” Back home, Pakistan's leadership is walking a tightrope. PM Shehbaz Sharif has publicly supported Iran amid its escalating conflict with Israel, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Iran is open to talks—if Israeli strikes stop. Want a US Student Visa? Hand Over Your Social Media The US has resumed student visa processing—but there's a catch. All applicants must now make their social media profiles public for review. Posts that appear hostile to the US, its institutions, or culture could be grounds for rejection. The State Department warns that refusing to comply may be seen as “an attempt to hide behavior.” Critics say the move chills free speech and brings back Cold War-era ideological vetting. “This turns consular officers into censors,” said Columbia's Jameel Jaffer. With academic sessions around the corner, international students are scrambling to comply, while legal experts raise red flags over digital privacy and First Amendment concerns. SEBI's Market Makeover: Esops, PSUs & AIFs Get a Lift SEBI is on reform overdrive. In just his second meeting as chair, Tuhin Kanta Pandey cleared a raft of changes aimed at boosting market efficiency, startup incentives, and investor participation. Founders of listed startups can now retain Esops—a game changer that aligns long-term incentives. For public sector undertakings, a new framework for voluntary delisting could fast-track strategic disinvestments. Alternative Investment Funds got more room to maneuver, with greenlights for co-investment vehicles and broader advisory services. Foreign investors in Indian sovereign debt will also benefit from simplified compliance norms. Meanwhile, the long-pending NSEL broker case may be resolved through a new settlement scheme. In short, SEBI is opening the doors wider, and smarter. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Luxury Listing Specialist - Dominate High End Listings In Any Market
Hey everyone, Michael LaFido here! I'm excited to share the latest developments from our recent podcast episode, featuring the extraordinary Jay Macklin. Jay's journey from Michigan to establishing a thriving luxury real estate brokerage in Arizona is nothing short of inspirational. First off, let's talk about an important update in the real estate world: Starting August 17, there's a new US requirement for buyers to have a written agreement to schedule private showings of homes. This stems from a settlement between the NAR and the Department of Justice. If you're booking a public open house, no agreement is necessary. This new rule impacts commission structures and adds a layer of complexity for us agents, but it's all about adapting and staying ahead in the game. Jay Macklin, our special guest, has been a force in luxury real estate since 2010, focusing primarily on North Scottsdale. He's all about personal branding and creating unique selling propositions to stand out. He highlights the significance of consistency, creative messaging, and building strong client relationships. Jay's approach aligns perfectly with the principles I discuss in my book, “Secret to Top Luxury Agents,” available now on freeluxurybook.com—grab your copy, just cover the shipping fee! A fascinating topic we covered is the different dynamics within luxury markets. Transitioning into luxury real estate, especially if you're new to an area, requires understanding client needs and preferences. Jay's experience reinforces that adapting marketing strategies and maintaining a high level of personal branding are key to success. Speaking of branding, we've got some awesome news—our luxury listing specialist gear is now available at luxuryspecialsgear.com. From T-shirts to planners, we have it all to keep you stylish while you close those high-end deals. In today's competitive market, setting yourself apart is crucial. What's your unique strategy? How do you ensure clients remember you? Whether it's your negotiation skills or your standout marketing materials, remain consistent and innovative. And hey, if you're curious about effective listing presentations and more, don't miss our daily themes like 'Mindset Monday' and 'Tips Tuesday' on our YouTube channel. As we wrap up the year, let's stay connected and express our gratitude—to our clients, colleagues, and everyone who supports us. It's not just about business; it's about building enduring relationships. Make it a great day, and stay tuned for more exciting updates and insights! Keep pushing the envelope, and let's make waves in the luxury real estate market!
Text us your thoughts about this episode or ideas for future episodes! This past Saturday night at 11:53 PM, Tara Dower set the fastest known time on the Appalachian Trail in 40 days 18 hours 5 minutes, besting Karel Sabbe's 2018 mark by 13 hours and 32 minutes.Starting August 12th at 5:47 AM, Dower averaged 54+ miles per day over 2,197.4 miles of rugged and relentless terrain from Maine to Georgia to set the mark.In masterfully riding a fine line of passion, grit, faith, and resourcefulness, Tara and her crew have set a new standard on this trail. I said this on an Instagram post shortly after the news broke, but I'll say it here as well - it's easy to get caught up in the moment, especially in a year that has seen the likes of the first female Barkley finisher, a UTMB course record, and a Hardrock course record - but is this the female performance of the year? Or better yet, is this the overall performance of the year regardless of gender? This is an amazing time to be in the sport. With all that said, we were fortunate to have Tara on the podcast shortly after her feat. In this conversation, we cover topics all about the Appalachian Trail record around her background, preparation, strategy, execution, mindset, and processing of this monumental achievement. If you want more long-distance hiking trail or Appalachian Trail trail-specific content, be sure to check out our interviews with Will Peterson, Warren Doyle, and Jennifer Pharr Davis from the past year. In part three of a six-part series on the IEP process, Jenny Ponzuric discusses the importance of accurately presenting current levels of functioning in an IEP document. Drawing from her 25 years of experience in special education, she highlights the shift from summarizing assessment results with jargon and test scores to providing detailed, understandable descriptions of a student's abilities. Jenny emphasizes the need for present levels that can serve as baselines for setting goals, urging assessors to go beyond standardized tests and gather comprehensive information about a student's academic, communication, social, emotional, and behavioral performance. In May of 2024, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced new rules governing dog imports into the United States. The rules are aimed at standardizing the process between countries and preventing the introduction of canine rabies into the U.S., but the broad-sweeping changes will have lasting impacts on breed clubs that depend on imported puppies for genetic diversity as well as dog owners who regularly cross international borders—including Canada. The CDC differentiates between countries considered to be high-risk for rabies and those that are low-risk or rabies-free. Currently, the rules and requirements for importing dogs from high-risk countries are much stricter than they are for dogs coming from low-risk or rabies-free countries. Starting August 1, however, the rules will be broadened to essentially apply the high-risk protocols to every foreign country regardless of their rabies risk status.
