HEALTHY LIFESTYLE with Host & America's #1 Take Action Success Coach & Strategist Lori Anne Casdia chats with Connor Kelly discussing his tap Philly Tap Festival. Tap dancing originated in the United States in the early 19th century, born from a fusion of African rhythmic traditionsand European step dances like Irish jigs and English clog dancing. Enslaved Africans brought their complex rhythms, often expressed through body percussion, which merged with the footwork of European immigrants.Today, tap dancing continues to evolve, blending with contemporary dance and music styles while staying rooted in its rhythmic and cultural heritage. It's celebrated worldwide for its unique ability to combine rhythm, movement, and storytelling.Tap's history reflects its roots in resilience and creativity, making it not just an art form but a powerful expression of cultural fusion and identity.Conner Kelly is from New Jersey and started Tap Dancing at seven years old with his aunt as his tap teacher. He trained at Jamie's Dance Odyssey under the direction of Jamie Down and then later on with Robin Passmore, who brought him into the rooms with people like Jared Grimes, Harold Cromer, Derrick Grant, Jason Janas, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Ayodele Casel, Chloe & Maud Arnold, and Jason Samuels Smith… Throughout his teens, he trained at the American Tap Dance Foundation, performed at “Broadway Underground” and attended Jersey Tap Fest and DC Tap Fest on scholarships. In 2012, he joined the cast of “Tap Stars,” directed by Jason Janas, where he had the opportunity to perform at the Vancouver Tap Festival and the Kennedy Center. Since 2023, he joined The Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble and was the driving force behind The Brewerytown Tap Dance Festival, (soon to be Philly Tap Fest 2024) and has been teaching and performing at festivals, conventions and workshops around the United States. As a proud dad of a one-year-old, he is excited to continue growing in Tap Dance as a performer, choreographer and educator. “I live to Tap Dance and I Tap Dance for my life.”To Contact:https://profile.jamargig.com/connerkelly@itsconnerkellySee Coach Lori Anne on her TV show "TAKE ACTION WITH COACH LORI ANNE" - Roku, Amazon Fire, YouTube, Facebook, Linked In, X/Twitter. ***SEE THE BLOG POST*** https://www.laxfactor.com/2022/07/maryland-terps-2023-scouting-report/ The Maryland Terps lacrosse squad has been “rinsing and repeating for some time” and for the last few years going into the off-season it was pretty clear who would be leading this team offensively. After Chanenchuk it was Matt Rambo. After Rambo it was Connor Kelly. After Kelly it was Jared Bernhardt. After Bernhardt it was Logan Wisnauskas. Every year, despite whatever losses they were going to have to face, they had a guy that was an obvious choice for “next man up” on the offensive side of the field. This season, it's not exactly clear who's going to be wearing ye old #1. For the first time in a long while, the Terps are losing their top 4 leading scorers, all put up 53 points or more, and Wisnauskas had a whopping 103 points. I haven't mentioned the defensive side of the ball because once again, the Terps return a WEALTH of talent on the defensive side of the ball. So no worries there. But let's play a new game I'm going to call, Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. Via that lens, I'll rip through and will take a deep dive into “what's next” for the Maryland lacrosse program. Lyle Thompson finally had his breakout game for the Cannons going for 5 goals and 4 assists in the Cannons one-goal win over the Archers. Stephen Rehfuss put up 2 goals and 3 assists in the win. The save of the year was made by Nick Marrocco as he turned away a doorstep chance with only a second remaining in the contest to secure the victory. The Waterdogs pulled away from the Chrome on Sunday as well, winning out 12-6. Mikie Schlosser was good for 3 goals and Connor Kelly stuck 2 singles in the win. Jake Withers won 59% of his face-off draws over Connor Farrell. Withers stat line was a solid 1 goal, 13 of 22 at the face-off stripe, 5 groundballs and 3 caused turnovers. He was instrumental in the win. The All-Star game is up next, I think Ament's squad is going to take it. They have Ament, Teat, Schlosser and more. All the hot offensive hands and thats what pays the bills for All-Star games. The Redwoods are currently sitting on top of the PLL standings with a 4-3 record and the tie-breakers, but this league is up for grabs, no doubt. Let me get straight to the point - thanks to the help of @deuxmoi and all of my amazing contributors, I’ve collected a ton of scalding hot, third degree burn-worthy tea on SoulCycle, and am HONORED to be taking their sorry asses down this week. I start by reading email letters from two ‘famous’ former instructors. One details tons of employee drug usage (including during class!), instructor and client deaths, emotional abuse, fat-shaming, hyper-sexualization and homophobia during training, and the secret methodology taught in order to manipulate riders into coming back for more. The other instructor talks about bullying from clients, pay inequality between men & women, and how disgustingly SoulCycle treated her when she was publicly cheated on by her boyfriend - another famous instructor - and thrown into an intense media scandal. A former member of the corporate team also spills the beans on the way company PR is handled internally. (41:42) Voice notes from front desk peeps tell stories of hellish celebrity clients, the Stephen Ross scandal, size discrimination, SoulCycle forbidding their employees to eat fast food, and what “wafflestomping” is. There are voice notes from clients whose eating disorders were made worse by Soul, too. And lastly, we hear from women bravely accusing Connor Kelly and Mike Press of psychological and sexual abuse.
