In this episode we cover the recent round of the ABT Daiwa Bream Series held at Lake Macquarie on the 3-4 June 2023. We have 5 angler interviews for this episode and each has an interesting story. Starting with second place in the non - boater division Daniel Reynolds. Daniel is a local to Lake Mac and usually fishes land based. Dan has only fished a handfull of events in this interview you will hear how he was able to finish in second place. In first place for the non - boater division I had a quick chat with Lance Marsh. I have to admit, this was one of my favourite interviews. You will hear how Lance was able to win this event with just 5/6 fish. If you have listened to my interviews for a while you will know that I like to hear about the father and son teams. In this interview you will hear about a relationship with a difference. We then move back to the boater division and talk with former Australian Open champion and previous Bream Fishing Project guest Jamie McKeown. Jamie talked though all the things he had to do to end up in third place. Jamie was fishing within casting distance of the winner Mark Healey and he spoke about all the decisions he made over the 2 days of competition. Jamie also spoke about all of the extra things a competiton angler needs to contend with while fishing in a very specific location on Lake Macquarie. In second place was an old fried of mine from the Southern Bream Series days, Jason Mayberry. Jason fished differently to Mark and Jamie and used 2lb to catch some of his fish. Jason spoke about how one of his bigger fish had him in "knots" during the fight. Tune in to get hear about a slightly different approach. Then for the second competition in a row, I spoke with the winner Mark Healey. There wer a couple of parallels between this competition and the last competition on the Hawkesbury River. Fishing along side Jamie, Mark concentrated his efforts in one location to grind out a win. Over the years Mark has proven himself to be a champion angler and this interview and the last interview from the Hawkesbury River round some true insights about Marks approach. I would also like to say thanks to Berley Pro who have come on board as a new sponsor. Next week I am hoping to announce full details of their promotion. Thanks also to James from Hunter Watersports for continued support. Thanks also to Adam at fishin.com.au for his continued support.

We discuss changes in the Japan International Schools over the last 20 years, ways Dan incorporates his wellbeing philosophy into his daily practices, challenges he has faced leading a school throughout COVID-19 as well as the new character and kindness curriculum he is in the middle of creating! This week I'm actually continuing on my journey with you into the disappearance of Daniel Reynolds. In the first episode that I initially paired with Gary Bell, I had focused on Daniel and the circumstances surrounding him going missing. What I went on to find out was that Daniel was indeed with others when he disappeared. I then went on to edit that episode to cover Gary individually and give Daniel his own episode, including his friends that went missing along side him. Since last week, I feel as if I'm peeling an onion. I keep uncovering more and more information. But in doing that I'm also revealing conflicting stories and accounts of what happened in September 2021. Daniel Reynolds was born on August 24, 1993. He went missing in September of 2021. The last time it's believed he was heard from was September 9th by Chris Thomas who he was going to meet up with in the Seattle area. Apparently he was supposed to be there on September 11th for a free car he was getting from Chris, but Daniel's friend Wilson states that he last saw him leaving the Aberdeen area on September 12th. What we know is that Daniel never showed up to meet Chris. Wilson reported Daniel missing to Aberdeen police on November 24th and his case was input into NAMUS December 17, 2021. Here are the current facts: Daniel, Tristan and Jona are missing and haven't been heard from since September 2021. Daniel's RV is missing as well as Tristan's 2001 PT Cruiser. It's possible the PT Cruiser is in a tow yard in the Aberdeen area. Where Jona has not been heard from, she may not have went missing at the same time as Daniel and Tristan, but this is unconfirmed and unfortunately can't be confirmed unless additional information is revealed. It's possible the last known location of Daniel and Tristan is in Elma, WA, but again that is not 100% verifiable. Most of what we know comes from Daniel's friend Wilson. Daniel Reynolds is a 28 year old white male with black hair and brown eyes. His hair was shorter when last seen, but it may have grown out again like he has it in the pictures I've posted. He's about 5'8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has tattoos on his upper right arm and 2 names on his back. He is driving a Tioga RV with Oregon plate #16050. The front window is covered with glue; the front top corner has duct tape and the mirrors hang down. If you have any information on the whereabout of Daniel Reynolds please contact Washington State Patrol Missing Persons Unit: (800) 543-5678 or Officer Cody Blodgett at 360-533-3180. You can also email Officer Blodgett at cblodgett@aberdeenwa.gov. I've said this in previous episodes. If you have information you want to keep anonymous then set up a random email and submit the tip to Officer Blodgett. We need any legitimate information to help with the investigation. Tristan Branstetter is a 22 year old white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He was driving a 2001 dark blue PT Cruiser, that may now be in a tow yard in the Aberdeen area. He was traveling at one point with his girlfriend Jona Tipps, a 20 year old white female with blue eyes and unknown hair color. But it is uncertain now if they were together at the time he and Daniel left Aberdeen. To be clear she is currently unaccounted for as well. I am considering her a missing person until proven otherwise. Daniel Reynolds was born on August 24, 1993, making him 28 years old. He went missing in September of 2021. Daniel was technically homeless, but living in his camper van, which was an old Tioga RV. He had been offered a free car from the sister of a friend of his, Chris. Chris is the friend that last heard from Daniel on September 9, 2021. Daniel was supposed to meet Chris at the Red Roof hotel near the Seattle airport to pick up the car. He never showed up or contacted anyone again. Daniel had met up with his friend Tristan and his girlfriend Jona in the Aberdeen, WA Walmart parking lot. They formed the plan to go pick up the car from Chris. Presumably Daniel would drive his RV and Tristan would drive his PT Cruiser w/ Jona as the passenger, all headed for Tacoma. Once there one of them would then drive the car. While at the Aberdeen Walmart police actually had told Daniel he'd have to move off the property. They all headed toward Tacoma, but Daniel's RV developed a flat tire on the way, prompting them to stop at a rest stop in Elma, WA. Elma is about 30 minutes west of Aberdeen. Daniel called another friend, Will, when this happened to come help him out. When Will arrived, he didn't see Daniel or any evidence of him being there. That was the last time anyone had spoken to Daniel. He hasn't been seen or heard from since then. And neither has Tristan or Jona. Daniel Reynolds is a 28-year-old white male with black hair and brown eyes. His hair was shorter when last seen, but it may have grown out again like he has it in the pictures I'll post. The front window is covered with glue; the front top corner has duct tape, and the mirrors hang down; the trailer also has blue rims. If you have any information on the whereabout of Daniel Reynolds please contact Washington State Patrol Missing Persons Unit: (800) 543-5678 or Officer Cody Blodgett with the Aberdeen Police Department at 360-533-3180. This week marks the last of our Small Business Stories podcast specials, where we have been celebrating our wonderful small business community as part of our summer Campaign Shop Independent. This week Holly chats to Liv and Dais, founders of A South London Makers Market; who, still within their first year of trading, have just completed their first pop-up store in Selfridges - something they could only have dreamed of 12 months ago. A true testament to believing and trusting in yourself, shooting for the stars and knowing that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. Nat and Dan of Fred & Noah talk openly about the trials of the past year, how they have transitioned from surviving to thriving by driving sales. Owning their customer experience and being the face of their business to give that personal touch whilst also remaining unique to themselves and their ideas. Both businesses, having been born from times of transition, found opportunity through creativity and understanding customers and adapting to their needs. These two incredible businesses are shining examples of what you can achieve when you have a community behind you, even in the face of adversity. True celebrations of the power of small.

Today's extremely Toronto Politics Twitter episode concerns the ongoing #BBQAnon clownshow in town. A barbecue restaurant got a lot of media attention recently when they defiantly refused to cooperate as the province imposed new public health restrictions on indoor dining during a new COVID-19 lockdown: the local right wing press hailed the restauranteur as a “barbecue revolutionary” fighting for “the little guy” but this spectacle wound up giving media oxygen to some of the darkest forces in the city, including the anti-mask/anti-vaccine brigade and the far right. Guest Daniel Reynolds is a writer and critic who also works for the City of Toronto as a traffic planner: he and host Jesse Hawken discuss this dystopian story of civic paranoia and media gaslighting and frame it within the context of a classic science-fiction parable, the Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a tale told four times so far by Hollywood, most notably in the masterful 1978 version by Phillip Kaufman, starring Donald Sutherland as a public health inspector! Plus: Jesse runs an exciting local heritage proposal past Daniel for the redevelopment of the Dufferin & Dupont area that no resident of downtown Toronto will want to miss! The Toronto Raptors faced a crossroads this summer and decided to bring the band back together, for the most part. Now, they seem stuck in pretty good land. Is that OK? Our two panelists disagree, and it makes for a fun conversation. Daniel Reynolds, the editor in chief of Raptors HQ, and Seerat Sohi, a terrific freelance writer based in Toronto, join the show to discuss the following:Was this year the time to blow it up, or did Masai Ujiri's handling of the Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka contract situations make bringing the team back together palatable? Are they really stuck in place? Is there anything that can jolt them out of the East's middle tier? And if they are actually stuck, is that so bad?How the Raptors' fate and popularity in the city is tied to the Maple Leafs. We all agree that this recent Raptors run has helped rebrand the franchise. Is there more than needs to be done to cement their new reputation, or has this core done enough already?Where do Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan stack up in the NBA's pecking order? Why is it so hard to discuss them rationally?Would you rather see Jonas Valanciunas finally break out, or Norman Powell take a major step forward? Who else should we be paying attention to off the bench?Serge Ibaka -- will he play a lot of center this year? Has his decline been overstated? How will they replace some of the key bench players they lost? Some more info on how the franchise's relationship with Drake soured. (Don't expect to see much of him this year at the Air Canada Center).A passionate defense of the "Raptors" nickname.Which three Raptors players would you want on your all-time banana boat, i.e. the three players you most want to vacation with?Predictions, etc. Will this team tread water or dip? This is the 24th of Limited Upside's 30 team previews leading up to next season. Can Kyle Lowry match his amazing 2015-16 season? Should the Raptors have ponied up for DeMar DeRozan instead of letting him walk? How will they replace Bismack Biyombo? What's the fanbase's feeling on Dwane Casey? Plus, key playing time issues and an in-depth discussion about Drake's dwindling role as the team's ambassador.
