Junk Food Dinner returns with three very random, very different films to wet your weird cinema whistle!Up first, low-budget Baltimore filmmaker Don Dohler brings us a tale of a reanimated corpse that moves into a suburban neighborhood and starts giving music lessons (and also killing people) in Fiend from 1980. Then, Dean Cameron stars in a classic slobs vs snobs tale set in a ski resort in Ski School from 1991. This R-rated comedy was a staple of late-night cable TV in the 90's but does it hold up? We find out. Finally, we get a rare look into the world of early 90's Japanese dance, fashion and music in the 1993 V-Cinema straight-to-video flick Heartbreaker: With Love from a Bullet. All this plus Final Destination chat, more Sinners chat, Kevin's adventures at the theater, Norm!, Looney Tunes blu-rays and so much more! Welcome to our podcast series from The Super Network and Pop4D called Tubi Tuesdays Podcast! This podcast series is focused on discovering and doing commentaries/watch a longs for films found on the free streaming service Tubi, at TubiTVYour hosts for Tubi Tuesdays are Super Marcey, ‘The Terrible Australian' Bede Jermyn, Prof. Batch (From Pop4D & Web Tales: A Spider-Man Podcast) and Kollin (From Trash Panda Podcast), will take turns each week picking a film to watch and most of them will be ones we haven't seen before.Film Starts Playing At: 00:10:49Welcome back to The Tubi Tuesdays Podcast, the number one Tubi related podcast that's hosted by two Australians, one Canadian and one American! Well actually this episode it's hosted by two Australians and one Canadian as Kollin was unable to join this week (we suspect he's hiding from a certain character). It is back to basics for this week with Super Marcey, Bede Jermyn and Prof. Batch, although what sort of time are they in for with it being Bede's choice of film ... he did pick a Troma released film called Nightbeast (1982), it can't be a bad time can it? Well you'll need to tune in and find out if Marcey and Batch enjoyed this film and haven't banned Bede!Nightbeast was directed by Don Dohler, it stars Tom Griffith, Jamie Zemarel, Karin Kardian, George Stover, Don Leifert Anne Frith and Eleanor Herman. If you have never listened to a commentary before and want to watch the film along with the podcast, here is how it works. You simply need to grab a copy of the film or load it up on Tubi (you may need alcohol), and sync up the podcast audio with the film. We will tell you when to press and you follow along, it is that easy! Because we have watched the films on Tubi, it is a free service and there are ads, however we will give a warning when it comes up, so you can pause the film and provide time stamps to keep in sync.Highlights include:* Sadly no Kollin this week, we blame Sherry Lou Lou ...* The podcast now has a President in Louise, what are we in for?* This Nightbeast alien looks like a lot of different things!* This cop dude's hair gets more curly and more grey in every scene!* Is Drago or the alien the villain?* What is going on?!* No seriously, what is this movie?* Plus much, much more!Check out The Super Network on Patreon to gain early access to The Tubi Tuesdays Podcast!DISCLAIMER: This audio commentary isn't meant to be taken seriously, it is just a humourous look at a film. It is for entertainment purposes, we do not wish to offend anyone who worked on and in the film, we have respect for you all.Music provided by DeNNo, introduction and podcast editing by Super Marcey & Bede Jermyn Hosted on Acast. It's October, so we had to come out of hiatus to record a new episode before Halloween. We are taking our first stab at a Don Dohler slab that oozes with atmosphere; his 1980 release FIEND. So, fill your chalice, put on your crushed velvet smoking jacket, and tune in.
Oh my god, EMTs. Don Dohler was a genius and an American treasure and his catalog should be far more celebrated. In this week's episode, we're discussing his 1982 absolute masterpiece of trash, "Nightbeast." Special topics for your consideration include: Baltimore accents that sound lovely to our Western PA ears, being a flannelman, a top 5 weird sex scene in WWA history, and the return of two characters that one of us loved. Please go listen to Episode 178- "The Alien Factor" for more of Don Dohler's work. It's exquisite. The regular lineup of links! He joins them to talk about the Films of Don Dohler including The Alien Factor, Fiend, and Nightbeast. Note: There was some technical issues during the first half of the show, but those clear up during the main portion.
On a very special episode of Movie Friends, Seth talks with one of his favorite filmmakers: writer & director Charles Roxburgh. they talk about making art, Don Dohler, Ed Grimley, and how finding art rather than it finding you can be so special. They also talk about their shared love for the all time great comedy, Pee-wee's Big Adventure. Listen now! Or don't! it's not like we're counting. This week two movies with couples that really want to kiss but never do. Mia is almost 16 and has just moved to a new town. Before long she befriends Gianna, head of a more rebellious clique, and tries to fit in. Unfortunately, she is about to undergo some changes which are a far cry from normal adolescence. The first feature by Lisa Brühlmann, Blue My Mind. An evil spirit takes a late night stroll and music teacher Eric Longfellow rises from his grave. Eric wastes no time in opening a new music school and starting a killing spree, where he squeezes the life force from others to extend his day pass from hell. Unfortunately, his neighbor Gerry Kinder spends an inordinate amount of time thinking about him. Soon the two men will be on a collision course to a final showdown. Don Dohler takes a break from visiting aliens to try his hand at a new kind of horror, Fiend. All that and Dave watches a prison riot, Tyler pokes a bellringing Frenchman with a stick, and Kevin likes to watch. Join us, won't you? Episode 308- SCALES
This week two strangers in strange lands and the rednecks that oppose them. When new infrared images reveal an uncharted island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Petrox Oil sends an expedition to take samples for drilling. Along the way they pick up a stowaway paleontologist and an adrift ingenue. If they don't find oil, they will have found a forty foot tall primate named Kong by the indigenous population. The first remake of the RKO monster horror classic, King Kong. When an alien lifeform lands in Harleyville, Maryland it probably doesn't expect to run afoul of local jerk Joe. Soon Joe is leading a group of his drinking buddies through the woods intent on capturing the visiting green man. Don Dohler's third alien in the woods of Maryland film, Galaxy Invader. All that and Dave gets a kung-fu grip, Tyler sells out to the Mouse, Craig naps without his lucky undies, and Kevin watches all from his own pocket of subspace. Join us, won't you?? Episode 307- Cosmic Anthropoid

So here it is. We almost thought it would never happen. The New York Dohlerites are back together again talking about Crawler, the last ever Don Dohler written, produced and shot movie. 15 years in the making but here thanks to our old friends Robert Long and Mitch Klein. It's Don's last collaboration with Director Joe Ripple. The film that brought together the cast from Dohler's original movies and his later Timewarp casts. It perfectly bookends his beloved B Movie career and I was so happy to get Dr. Nick Consol back on the show to talk about Crawler and I even managed a surprise Phil Rowan appearance! We last covered Don's films 10 years ago so it also feels fitting with our recent anniversary to be back chatting the Baltimore king of the Bs. Definitely Don but not forgotten.ENJOY!Hear our original episodes here:EPISODE 14 - MCBAIN/MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE/DON DOHLER'S NIGHTBEAST/ICEBREAKER - https://aftermoviediner.com/feed/podcasts/the-after-movie-diner/14/b-movie-palooza-2EPISODE 20 - A FISTFUL OF DOHLER'S - ALIEN FACTOR/FIEND/BLOOD MASSACRE/BLOOD BOOB'S AND BEAST - https://aftermoviediner.com/feed/podcasts/the-after-movie-diner/20/fistful-of-dohlersEPISODE 27 - ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER DOHLER: GEORGE STOVER INTERVIEW/GALAXY INVADER & ALIEN FACTOR 2 - https://aftermoviediner.com/feed/podcasts/the-after-movie-diner/27/another-day-another-dohlerEPISODE 42 - FOR A FEW DOHLER'S MORE/HARVESTERS/STAKES/LEANNA CHAMISH INTERVIEW - https://aftermoviediner.com/feed/podcasts/the-after-movie-diner/42/for-few-dohlersEPISODE 105 - DOWN TO MY LAST DOHLER - VAMPIRE SISTERS/DEAD HUNT - https://aftermoviediner.com/feed/podcasts/the-after-movie-diner/105/down-to-my-last-dohlerOur site also has interviews with the main cast, George Stover & Leanna Chamish, Don's documentarian, John Kinhart and more! - https://aftermoviediner.com/search?q=Don+DohlerPlease rate, review and subscribe to Booth Talk our interview podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/booth-talk/id661036943CONTACT US and give us feedback at aftermoviediner@gmail.com, Call us on 347 669 0053 or leave us a voicemail from your computer at www.speakpipe.com/aftermoviediner

Halloween is so close, we can already taste the candy (mostly 'cause we've already dipped into our trick or treat supply). To celebrate, Devin & James are opening up the DEN OF CIN to their first CELEB GUESTS! We are honored to have as our first guest Horror Host Hall-of-Famer COUNT GORE DE VOL! www.countgore.com The Count flies in to talk to us about his 1970's-80's Washington D.C. show CREATURE FEATURE, and his even longer-running online show. He even brought his own Grab Bag of COUNT GORE'S TOP SCARY MOVIES! Then we get a visit from the TOTALLY UNRELATED, NOT THE SAME PERSON, Emmy Award winner DICK DYSZEL! Dick tells us about his celebrated radio, TV, and film career (and how he got to know The Count), as well as discussing with us the films he appeared in for Cult Movie Legend DON DOHLER (NightBeast, Alien Factor, Galaxy Invader, and many more). Plus so many more surprises, including Celeb Stories, Spacemen, and Bozo himself!
Welcome to our monthlong celebration of schlock. There will be lizards, yetis, devils and everything in-between with these 31 days. Let’s start with some high class cinema with the Don Dohler classic NightBeast from 1982. When his space ship is dinged by asteroids, our titular character is crash landed to earth and he is angry. Armed with a man dusting ray gun, claws and a gnarly overbite, he defies and defiles anyone that gets in his way.

It's been a long & lonely year in Junk Food Dinner land, without all the late-nite Corn Gorn partying and early-morning Ghoul Summer partying we're used to. The only silver lining in this hellish cloudscape has been the steadfast support of our loyal Dom Deluise Patreon Patrons, who have pledged to keep us warm all winter long with their hot-ass movie picks. And this week we got three scorchers! Up first! Y'all remember that popular winter holiday everyone celebrates and makes movies about? Well, 1987's Planes, Trains and Automobiles (picked by Kessa), isn't actually about Christmas - nor, despite the appearance of John "Halloween" Candy is it about All Hallow's Eve. No, good friends of podcastingland, it's that John Hughes movie about Thanksgiving, for some reason! Also featuring Steve Martin! As one-half of an odd-coupling with none-other than the Candy-man himself! It's the one where the grown men share a hotel bed.Next up! We've seen Nightbeast. You've seen Nightbeast. We hadn't seen The Alien Factor. But we've all seen The Alien Factor. That's because, of course, 1978's earlier-shot-and-long-shelved The Alien Factor (picked by Brendon) is more or less just Nightbeast with worse cameras. But that doesn't mean we love it (or Baltmore-area schlockmaster Don Dohler) any less for it! Finally! It's a third Patreon-picked film! With a zombie who is also a ninja! Of course, we're talking about the recently unearthed-by-AGFA Ninja Zombie from 1992. It's that weird and wacky movie that seems like it was shot primarily as an excuse to play with samurai swords in a public park. And isn't that what life is all about?!All this plus a christmas-grinch's podcasting heart turns three times larger, grandma's nips by popular demand, Japanese yuletide styles, regional theme park foods, Garth Brooks makes an appearance, the uncles are listening, this time Kevin's the skype-y one!, kentucky fried shamelessness, Hunter & Gunn: A Lovesong, a bonafide flurry of emoji chatter, eggnog hangovers, sci-fidelity ambience, ginger-spiced sneezes our weekly news plus blu-ray picks and even more! In this episode Adam and Mark discuss the 1980s Don Dohler schlocker – Fiend. Listen in as they talk about the first time they watched it, digging it out to watch again, how after several attempts to re-watch it, it almost broke Adam and how they both have developed a new appreciation for what Don Dohler was trying to achieve as an independent D.I.Y film maker.
Don Dohler is back again on the Birdhands chopping block. Don’s unique brand of aliens and monotone dialogue are out in full force as we view one of his most loved projects. Seems like the characters are not really written as well as his other movies but the acting makes up for it in … Continue reading Fiend 1980 – Birdhands Episode 79 →
Francisco Lacerda returns to finish our chat about Don Dohler's The Alien Factor (1978). Listen to Francisco and me gush with childlike glee over the joy of amateur genre filmmaking, even with its awkward bar band scenes and all. Vinegar Syndrome, if you're listening, you've already got two buyers of a Don Dohler boxed set right here! Please enjoy a bit of Francisco's own early no-budget genre work, Dentes e Garras here: https://youtu.be/UpCxOvYqj90
This week, my friend and fellow filmmaker Francisco Lacerda joins me from faraway Finland and gets me hyped up to watch Don Dohler's 1978 “aliens and rednecks” classic The Alien Factor. Along the way, I find a few excuses to whine like a grumpy old man about Marvel movies and going to the theater. Check out Francisco's shockingly NSFW short film “Freelancer” here (and maybe try to watch before lunch): https://vimeo.com/237916830

The Alien Factor is Don Dohler’s 1978 masterpiece of science fiction. Well it might not be a masterpiece, but it is a movie. And for that we have to be grateful. We here at the Birdhands headquarters love Don Dohler and his quest to make cinema gold. And with a budget of $3500 I think … Continue reading The Alien Factor – Birdhands Episode 51 →

Low Budget Legends – Chris and Tom continue their revival of the podcast with a less specific theme, focused on two very different movies – Nightbeast and Parasite. It's a mixture of Don Dohler cheapness, a silver-suited alien, Charles Band…

In addition we break down late Baltimore legend Don Dohler’s Sci-Fi horror, Nightbeast, Satan’s Slave, obscure 80’s action release, Death Feud aka Savage Harbor, and Paul Bartel’s western comedy, Lust In The Dust. Don’t miss it and be sure to check out fleshwoundfeatures.com and download us and Squared Circle Society on iTunes, Stitcher, and Spreaker.
A no-budget nightmares RETURN! And this time, thanks to a Patreon request, we're delving back into the work of Don Dohler! In fact, DEAD HUNT is Don's final film (co-directed by HARVESTERS' and STAKES' Joe Ripple), and it's an old fashioned slasher flick with a touch of post-SCREAM metacommentary for good measure. It's tons 'o fun, aside from a few issues with, uh, pronunciation. Have a listen and tell your friends right.. NOW!

The Galaxy Invader. Hard to believe this one was released in 1985. Although a great effort and obviously Don Dohler is never short on passion when making a movie, this film has one of the worst looking rubber monster suits even by 1950's standards. What it lacks in effects and story it makes up in heart. All the Don Dohler regulars are in this one and are on their game. Even the final product of his films are sometimes the subject of ridicule, you can't say the guy did not have the guts to get out there and make a movie. Join us as we grab our glowing space orbs and shirts with giant holes in them, as we dive in deep with....The Galaxy Invader!

It’s our first episode in a while! We recorded this one several months ago with Boss and Levi Olson talking about Don Dohler’s The Alien Factor (1979). We're finally back folks, Had a false start there when we did that Don Dohler episode, but things are running smooth once again. This week I have on my podcast wife, Jamie D Jenkins to discuss one of my great cinematic loves, Eddie Deezen!
In the intimate world of low budget filmmaking there is one man who tends to get overlooked and it's a crying shame. That man is Don Dohler, Baltimore native son and legend in his lifetime.
This week another old guest comes back for another go on the Diner! The legendary, epically talented and universally beloved Matt Farley from Motern Media is BACK!Matt and I discuss Scorsese's Cape Fear, the casting of children in films, remakes, Don Dohler, George Stover, Star Wars Vs Star Trek and much much more!
WHO YA GONNA CALL! The.. uh.. Denver Ghostbusters! No-Budget Nightmares takes its first trip into FAN FILM territory, and this one’s a doozy. RETURN OF THE GHOSTBUSTERS brings together a whole new group of ghostbusters, and while they are missing the charm, wit and acting ability of the original GHOSTBUSTERS, they make up for it with plenty of awkward pop culture references and an appearance from THE ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD. There’s special(?) effects galore, and once it actually gets going it’s not half-bad. Thanks go out to listener and Patreon subscriber James Owens for forcing this upon us. BUSTIN’ MAKES US FEEL GOOD! Keep your ears peeled until the end to hear a terrific new RETURN OF THE GHOSTBUSTERS-themed song from Roo! And, hell, watch the entire RETURN OF THE GHOSTBUSTERS movie for free. RIGHT NOW! Not enough? RETURN OF THE GHOSTBUSTERS is actually a sequel to *this* goofy fan film. FREDDY VS GHOSTBUSTERS And that’s not all! Also mentioned on the show are a few more GHOSTBUSTERS-themed fan films. It’s a few weeks later and WOMEN’S STUDIES still plague our host’s nightmares. Thankfully, there’s a Baltimore-lensed solution to their problems: Don Dohler’s sci-fi/action microbudget classic NIGHTBEAST! For ONE NIGHT ONLY the show becomes NO-BUDGET LEGENDS as Moe and Doug celebrate the amazing accomplishments and outstanding career of the late filmmaker, while delving deep into the bottomless pleasures of Nightbeast’s decapitatin’, laser-shootin’, organ yanking exploits. They end the episode revitalized, reborn and ready for ACTION. Listen! LISTEN! LISTEN!! Want more of this goodness (and some fine perks)? Support No-Budget Nightmare on PATREON!
