Hazel English - "Summer Nights," a 2022 self-released single. On her forthcoming EP Summer Nights (out June 17th), Hazel English teams up with producer Jackson Phillips (Day Wave) for a "short story"-like collection of songs whose narratives interweave with another. Today's Song of the Day is “about the intoxicating feeling of developing a crush on someone. I thought it would be interesting to explore the buildup of tension sonically because to me, the anticipation is the best part.” “Jackson and I have such a great flow when it comes to working on music that it was easy to essentially pick up where we had left off,” English said in a press release about the EP. “Our process together is very quick and fun, no second guessing. I also think the pandemic and time at home got me thinking a lot about my past and remembering high school experiences and those kinds of feelings that were so vivid at that time. So I found myself writing lyrics that were inspired by some of those experiences and then I kind of created a whole new story out of it.” Read the full post on KEXP.org Support the show: https://www.kexp.org/donate See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this weeks episode, Rogan goes solo to interview designer, entrepreneur, and general badass Henrietta Holderness. "H. Holderness, is a female-led ski brand that creates beautifully printed base-layers and casual wear made for the mountains. We are British brand who calls the snow-capped mountains of the French Alps home in the Winter and then heads to London to catch the best of the English Summer sun. At the heart of H. Holderness lies their base-layers, perfect for hitting the piste or getting down on the yoga mat. Our apparel combines the functionality of traditional woollen thermals with the aesthetics of gym leggings (finished with a touch of London style). Culminating in activewear that feels at home either side of the channel, looks and feels great and enables women to get the most of their time whatever it on the slopes, the yoga mat, the gym or the great outdoors." This is the eighth episode of the still kind of new Tobuscus podcast: TOBY SUCKS AT PODCASTS, starring Toby Turner (who makes sucking at podcasts so cool that they are already banning it in some states, countries and other places who have laws against that for some reason). This week, Katers17, or as she's best known on the internet, "Katers17" joins Gabuscus and Tim on the big red couch! We find out what an English Summer is, which isn't very different than a Siberian Winter, apparently. Toby gets a massage, and then Gabe gets a professional massage by a man twice his strength, which turns him into a wee little baby for a while. They get a traditional Thai massage with a happy ending and everything. I think I know what that means, like it's probably that thing where you're a lot happier at the end of the massage because of how relaxed your muscles are, right? Anyway, Gabe and Toby get happy endings with their on-screen massages. Toby and the gang play America's favorite computerized catchphrase game...CATCHPHRASE.
