In this episode FLD owner, Cory Cripe, reflects on the importance of empathy, flexibility, and embracing humanity—not perfection—in coaching. He shares why fitness professionals need to coach whole humans—not just bodies or isolated parts—and why coaches are often expected to present “good vibes” at all times. No bad days. No off moods. Just relentless positivity. But is that expectation even fair? And more importantly, does it help anyone? Spoiler: probably not. This episode is packed with personal stories, real-world insights, and practical strategies for navigating the complexity of coaching human beings (instead of robots). If you've ever felt like you had to “fake it ‘til you make it” as a coach or a client, or if you're a coach who's struggled to meet clients where they're at, this episode is for you.
