DAMION1White House blasts Amazon over tariff cost report: ‘Hostile and political act'The White House on Tuesday slammed Amazon for reportedly planning to display the cost of President Donald Trump's tariffs next to the total price of products on its site.“This is hostile and political act by Amazon,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. “Why didn't Amazon do this when the Biden administration hiked inflation to the highest level in 40 years?” Leavitt asked. The Trump administration's aggressive swipe came in response to a report that Amazon will soon show consumers how much of an item's cost comes from tariffs. The amount added as a result of tariffs will be displayed right next to each product's total listed price, a person familiar with the plan told the news outlet.WHO DO YOU BLAME?CEO Andrew Jassy. He's the “boss.”Maybe he feels emasculated?Lowest overall batting average (.308)only 6% influence compared to his boss, Jeff Bezos (67%)Not paid like traditional CEOs (relying instead on his $275M in unvested equity) and the $38M that vested last year; so when he's hanging out withHis buddies like Target CEO Brian Cornell ($20M) eBay CEO Jamie Iannone ($22M) have the total summary compensation bragging rights. She said the US Air Force is accepting jets that lack "functional" radar systems, without offering evidence. She also claimed that Lockheed is "increasingly obsessed with pushing a woke agenda." Like many other US defense contractors, Lockheed scrapped its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in January after Trump returned to the White House. The $2 trillion F-35 program is an appealing target for activists and officials seeking to slash government spending, and it has a well-documented list of problems. The Pentagon's top weapons tester said earlier this year that the program had problems delivering functional software and had fallen behind schedule to test upgraded mission systems.WHO DO YOU BLAME?The 2025 Proxy Statement that mentions “diversity” five times!Of course all five of those instances were in the anti-woke/anti-DEI shareholder proposal introduced by the Bahnsen Family Trust. Not sure how this even made the proxy after Lockheed's anti-DEI move in January: “As we publicly stated following the issuance of President Trump's January 2025 Executive Order on DEI, we will not have goals or incentives based on demographic representation or Affirmative Action Plans. Welcome to the first Fintech Recap of 2025. As always, I'm joined by Jason Mikula, publisher of Fintech Business Weekly and author of the shiny new book Banking as a Service (which I'm loving, by the way), as we catch up post-holiday to dive into the fintech buzz. First pit stop: BaaS Island and the CBW Bank saga. This small player with a big history—partnering with pioneers Moven and Ripple—just got slapped with a major $20M penalty from the FDIC. But CBW is fighting back, challenging the FDIC in court. As fintech blurs the line between community banks and fintech giants, can a community bank charter truly handle nationwide payments and high-stakes BaaS? Next up, get ready for the IPO tidal wave in 2025. It's shaping up to be a big one for fintech, and Chime is at the forefront, gearing up for its big debut. While there's chatter about their customer count—anywhere from 7M to 38M—one thing's undeniable: Chime boasts a solid customer base with impressive direct deposit adoption. Things are about to get interesting. Moving on, Walmart and Branch are in hot water with the CFPB for allegedly opening accounts for Walmart Spark drivers without consent, forcing them to use Branch or risk termination. This raises huge questions about employers embedding financial services in their workers' lives. Not to mention, the urgent need for tighter oversight on employer-sponsored fintech in 2025. Plus, we rant about Vivek Ramaswamy's unhinged tweet blaming the 90s pop culture—like Boy Meets World and Friends reruns—for America's software engineer shortage. Yep, seriously. It's Whiplash reruns or nothing for the "Department of Government Efficiency.” Here's looking at you, 2025. 00:04:19 - Return to BaaS Island 00:23:59 - IPO Watch: Chime 00:40:59 - Walmart x Branch 00:56:35 - Can't Let It Go Sign up for Alex's Fintech Takes newsletter for the latest insightful analysis on fintech trends, along with a heaping pile of pop culture references and copious footnotes. In this episode of Glenn TV, Glenn Beck reveals the deep-state blueprints and the players working to oppose the mandate voters handed Trump in November. It's a shadow cabinet comprised of federal judges, state governments, the ACLU, the Tides Foundation, Soros, and Democracy Alliance. This new resistance even has origins linked to the U.K. While Trump's impeachment over Ukraine tipped us off to a rogue state during his first term, Glenn explains how the Hunter Biden saga exposed just how deep the corruption really goes — and why the deep state will do anything to stop Trump. Glenn Beck Special. Trump RECKONING Coming for the Censorship Regime: Mandate to Fix America Part 1 Trump RECKONING Coming for the Censorship Regime: Mandate to Fix America Part 1 America has given Donald Trump and the GOP a historic mandate to fix what the Biden-Harris administration broke. But we can't do it without a serious reckoning. This election was about more than just dinner-table issues: the cost of living, gas, income. CANCER has taken over this nation, and we voted — in RECORD NUMBERS — for President-elect Trump to EXCISE that cancer at every level of the federal bureaucracy. Tonight, Glenn starts a series that looks at everywhere the cancer has spread — the deep state, the media, the Department of Education, EVERYWHERE — and identifies where we want Trump to come in and start cutting. We begin with the country's eyes and ears: the censorship regime and the propaganda-industrial complex, also known as the legacy media. Glenn takes us back half a century to where it all started, when the biggest progressive minds in the country found out how to brainwash and indoctrinate a select elite class. They now control over 90% of the information that we all consume! This, he explains, is why the Democratic Party went from the party of anti-war, working-class hippies to the party of elite, college-educated war hawks in bed with Big Pharma who think the American people should be “drones.” If Trump doesn't fix the eyes and ears first, a process that started when Elon Musk bought Twitter, the cancer will just return. Beware deep state, for the Orange Man cometh with very sharp tools. It's a sacrificial love that embraces all people regardless of race or religion. We believe that we can show His love by serving the “least of these” on this earth as Christ challenged us to do in Matthew 25. We pray that by God's grace, and with your support, we can continue to bring relief to the suffering and hope to the hopeless. Cass Gilbert's original plan from the state Capitol's dedication in 1932 included a mural display. The murals will be installed at the third floor level of the Rotunda. The installation process will be phased, with four lunettes (semi-circular spaces above doorways) being completed first, followed by four pendentives (curved triangular sections supporting a dome). According to Secretary of West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture & History Randall Reid-Smith, the murals will be allegorical, interpreting liberty, justice, commerce and education – as well as historical, depicting Harpers Ferry in 1859, the Battle of Philippi, an arts celebration at Seneca Rocks and a historic state compilation. Episode 325 of The VentureFizz Podcast features Alex Shashou, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of 10Beauty. About 10 years ago, Peter Thiel is credited for saying “We wanted flying cars, instead we got 140 characters.” True, Twitter or X certainly was not in the same frame of mind as to what we saw on The Jetsons, but are we finally starting to get there? The Roomba was a step in the right direction in terms of a consumer robot success story. But… the future just might be closer than you think in terms of the possibilities of robotics and automation? Behold… I share with you 10Beauty! The world's first and only autonomous manicure machine. I might not be the target market for this robotics company, but my wife and two daughters are definitely in the strike zone and when I told them about it… their immediate response was "WHEN AND WHERE CAN I GET ONE!" 10Beauty is not going to be available for consumers to purchase (at least not initially), as they are taking a B2B approach in terms of their go-to-market strategy. For me, it's less about the tasks that this robot is performing and more about a team that is thinking bigger and ultimately delivering on something that is incredibly difficult. 10Beauty has raised $38M in funding from Shine Capital, Lerer Hippeau, Imaginary Ventures, and Red Sea Ventures. And, they already have serious traction as they already sold out of their entire first run of machines which means they have over $13M in annual manicure subscription revenue ahead. In this episode of our podcast, we cover: * A deep dive into the challenges and the complexity of building a robotics startup. * Alex's background story and how Alex met his co-founder, Justin Effron, the first day of school at the University of Pennsylvania. * The story of their first company, Alice, a task management platform for the hospitality industry that was acquired by Expedia, plus how they connected with their technical co-founder, Dmitry Koltunov. * The definition of a good partnership between co-founders and how they divvy up roles & responsibilities. * All the details on 10Beauty… from meeting Chris Casey (one of the original Roomba engineers) to building out the initial prototype to raising funding to the company's business model and projected launch. * And so much more.

Alex Anthopoulos worked his magic for the Atlanta Braves by trading Vaughn Grissom for Chris Sale. Today, the Braves signed Sale to a two-year, $38M contract with a third-year club option. Tenitra Batiste and Jarvis Davis talked about how Sale could be good in the short term, but wondered whether or not Anthopoulos locked up Max Fried's replacement. Also, they discussed the Atlanta Hawks almost blowing a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Secondly, the Atlanta Falcons are all set to take on the New Orleans Saints for the season finale. More conversations are being had about Arthur Smith's job status, as they should, than what's at stake for the Falcons on the field. Tenitra and Jarvis talked about what his status should be going into the last game. Also, they talked about how the Falcons as an organization need to stop putting the head coach and the general manager on the same level. Lastly, they finished things off by going Around The Metro. The track swiftly embodies the thesis of the album as its themes speak to the album as a. whole. Its accompanying video, directed by Quinton Dominguez, opens with LA VIE seated in a movie theater, ready to watch a movie of his newfound life in Los Angeles. The film and the track's lyrics follow LA VIE's emotional effort to hold onto optimism, freedom and safety. With Haven, his debut studio album out today, RIZ LA VIE expands on the vibrant sonic world he's built with previous releases, but this time, shares more of himself with his fans.
