A few months after beloved son, Grant Solomon, dies in a freak accident 3 more grave plots are bought next to his. One for his younger sister Gracie.Another for the siblings' mother, Angie. And the last for the patriarch of the family, Aaron. All three whom are still, very much alive. In fact, Angie and Aaron, now divorced, are not only breathing but they're basically just busy hating each other. Would they really want to lay next to each other for the rest of eternity? And what about Gracie, Grant's younger sister who just entered her teenage years? She's most likely going to grow up, start a family of her own and be laid to rest with them…right? The Freedom For Gracie instagram posts about the 3 grave plots that were purchased far too prematurely. Apparently, the culprit is none other than Aaron. The patriarch. The father. The estranged ex-husband, who by the way, isn't new to accusations… Another glimpse at the Freedom For Gracie page provides some context: Did Aaron kill his own son Grant and is he trying to take down the rest of the family next? Police are at a loss, the public is at a loss, until five years later when the case flips on its head. Angie is the one sitting in prison facing charges of murder for hire. This is the case of the Solomon family.   Full show notes available at RottenMangoPodcast.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. It's been a week filled with breaking news and, as usual, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are on it, starting with the arrest of Grant Solomon's mother. Grant was 18 years old when he was killed outside of Nashville under mysterious circumstances (and with his father, former news anchor Aaron Solomon, nearby). In the years since his death, Grant's mother has fought for law enforcement to take another look at her son's case and sought for protection for her daughter, who accused Aaron of sexual abuse.  This past Friday, Angie Solomon was arrested and charged with attempting to hire a hitman to kill Aaron. Mandy and Liz break down what happened and why the accusations seem … off.  Plus, reporter Beth Braden learns that two new witnesses to Grant's death came forward last spring and what they had to say is interesting.  Also on the show, Jane Doe No. 1 stands up to Myrtle Beach Pastor John-Paul Miller's legal bullying.  Plus a shocking (overlooked?) piece of evidence in the Scott Spivey case … no really, it's wild.  Premium members get updates on Russell Laffitte's plea deal, Alex Murdaugh's latest attempts to manipulate dummies and what's up with Cory Fleming's appeal?  Let's dive in...

According to his father, Aaron Solomon—a former Nashville news anchor—Grant was accidentally run over by his own truck in a parking lot. However, the official investigation was minimal, with no autopsy performed and no forensic analysis of the vehicle. Grant's mother, Angie, and sister, Gracie, have long alleged that Aaron was responsible for his death, citing inconsistencies in his account and a history of abuse. Gracie has publicly accused her father of sexual abuse, claims that were reportedly substantiated by child protective services. Despite these allegations, Aaron Solomon has not faced charges related to his son's death or the alleged abuse. On April 11, 2025, Angie Solomon was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee, for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband, Aaron. Authorities state that she met with an undercover officer posing as a hitman and provided vehicle registration as collateral, expressing that Aaron's death would grant their daughter access to a trust fund. Angie is currently held on a $500,000 bond. Supporters argue that this alleged act was driven by years of trauma and a perceived failure of the justice system to address the abuse and Grant's death. Aaron was the only witness to this incident and told the police that Grant's truck malfunctioned and dragged him down a steep asphalt hill, landing in a ditch and trapping Grant beneath his truck. Sammy Teusch, 10, is the baby of the Teusch family. Now in fourth grade, Sammy loves playing outside with his brothers, his beloved dog Daisy, and best friend, Judah, who lives next door. Wherever Sammy goes, people comment on his big smile that pushes his glasses up his cheeks. While friends and family know Sammy Teusch as smart, funny, charming, and empathetic, several children at school focus on Sammy's physical appearance. They pick on Sammy for his glasses and crooked teeth in elementary school and the bullying only intensifies in intermediate school.  On the bus home, Sammy is attacked and beaten with his own iPad. The bullies hit Sammy over the head with the tablet several times, and the boy arrives home with broken glasses, a black eye, and scratches on his face and neck. Days later, Sammy is cornered in the bathroom and beaten up again—with more threats of violence when he returns to school on Monday. Parents, Sam and Nichole Teusch call Greenfield-Central 20 times to raise concerns about Sammy's wellbeing and physical safety. They also receive several calls. Teachers report that Sammy is fearful at school and hides under his desk and in closets. The school says they are working to resolve the bullying, but nothing gets better for Sammy.  On a quiet Sunday morning, Sam Teusch cooks a pancake and egg breakfast for his wife and four children. Teusch goes to wake Sammy up to eat, but he instead finds the little boy unresponsive and not breathing. Sam Teusch calls for help and performs CPR on Sammy, but Sammy Teusch dies. Suzanne Morphew's death has been ruled a homicide by undetermined means. The toxicology report shows several drugs found in her system at the time of her death: Butorphanol, a synthetic opioid pain-killer, Azaperone, a sedative commonly used as a tranquilizer for pigs and elephants, and medetomidine, a sedative that can decrease an animal's heart rate, commonly used by veterinarians. According to a 2021 affidavit, Barry Morphew admitted to police that he frequently used BAM and other tranquilizers to sedate deer to remove antlers for his hunting business. However, BAM is the commonly used abbreviation for Butophanol, Azaperaone, and Medetomidine. Azaperone is used as a sedative for Elephants, Rhinoceros, and Giraffes, while Medetomidine facilitates immobilization of large carnivores and great apes.   Police say in the recovery of Susanne Morphew's body, her favorite tee-shirt was pulled from the location.  And in the past few days, it's reported that husband Barry Morphew quietly slipped into an invite-only memorial for his murdered wife.  Joining Nancy Grace Today:  Tisha Leewaye, Friend of Suzanne Morphew  Dr. Grey Stafford  -  Host of the Podcast "Zoo Logic" - Wildlife Expert, Animal Trainer, Zoologist,  Book: "Zoomility: Keeper Tales of Training with Positive Reinforcement"  Mark Tate  -  Trial Lawyer / Legal Analyst - Tate Law Group- TateLawGroup.com   Chris McDonough -  Director At the Cold Case Foundation, Former Homicide Detective, Host of YouTube channel- ‘The Interview Room', ColdCaseFoundation.org Joseph Scott Morgan -  Professor of Forensics: Jacksonville State University, Author, "Blood Beneath My Feet", Host: "Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan", Twitter: @JoScottForensic Lauren Conlin -  Investigative journalist, Host of The Outlier Podcast. While we work on our monthly episode about GRANT SOLOMON, we thought you may want to hear about another case in Tennessee that we covered on The Outlier Podcast:21-year-old JENNIFER WIX and her 2-year-old toddler ADRIANNA were last heard from on March 25, 2004, in Robertson County, Tennessee. The last person to allegedly have seen the mother and toddler was JENNIFER'S then boyfriend, JOEY BENTON. The two had an "on-again, off-again," tumultuous relationship, and BENTON'S father, JOE SR. has a dangerous criminal past, while BENTON himself has a history of violence. There were also possible allegations (and/or theories) of ADRIANNA potentially being molested, but the BENTON family quickly dismissed those claims. Fast forward to 2024, JOE BENTON SR. is serving time for the sexual exploitation of a minor. We have a lot of questions about this case- but first- we'll share what we know. The Outlier: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-outlier-podcast/id1723869713?i=1000653250521IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING JENNIFER AND ADRIANNA, PLEASE CONTACT 1-800-TBI-FIND.*Corrections: Officers did not need to obtain a search warrant for the Benton household, they simply waited an entire weekend before searching the house.*Exxon Mobile had recorded over footage from that evening by the time the footage was requestedEPISODE NOTES AND DISCLAIMER:RESEARCHER/WRITER: CELINE KERIK-IN ADDITION TO ROBERTSON COUNTY GOVERMENT REPORTS:https://www.nbcnews.com/dateline/cold-case-spotlight/family-still-pushing-answers-2004-tennessee-disappearance-jennifer-adr-rcna146649https://www.wkrn.com/unsolved-tennessee/jennifer-and-adrianna-wix-cold-case-gets-new-detective/https://www.robertsonsheriff.com/2013/12/16/wix-case-reclassified-as-homicide/https://www.newschannel5.com/news/authorities-surround-springfield-home-in-robertson-countyhttps://datacommons.org/place/geoId/4718420?utm_medium=explore&mprop=count&popt=Person&hl=enhttps://www.robertsonsheriff.com/2013/12/16/wix-case-reclassified-as-homicide/https://robertson.tncrtinfo.com/crCaseForm.aspx?id=CCB11631-0C94-472E-A48D-CE02BB56900E&dsid=20aeb40aWHILE EVERY EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE TO ENSURE THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, WE WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THAT THE VIEWS AND EXPERIENCES EXPRESSED BY THE INDIVIDUAL ARE THEIR OWN. According to court documents, the elaborate plan to kill Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelly began with a simple lie, the day before the murders.  Tad Cullum, the boyfriend of grandmother Tiffany Adams,  had asked the owner of the property he rented for cattle grazing, if he could do some work in the pasture, with his skid steer.  Picture a heavy-duty front-end loader, with lift arms that can attach to various tools, especially ones for digging. Cullum reportedly said he wanted to cut down a tree, remove a stump, and bury some concrete. The intent was that if the hole was discovered, it was explainable.  If the land owner was asked about the disturbed dirt and track marks,  he could honestly answer that some dirt work had been done and concrete had been buried. The landowner just didn't know there were bodies underneath. News reports also say there was hay placed near and on the digging site to draw Cullum's cattle to the spot, to trample the earth, further disguising the dig.    The OSBI, the FBI, and the Texas County Sheriff's Department followed cell phone pings to find a horrific scene, a 10-foot-deep hole, 8 1/2 miles from the mom's abandoned car,  in a pasture on leased farmland and near a bridge. Whether the two moms were buried alive.... not yet revealed.       Associate District Judge Clark Jett entered "not guilty" pleas on the behavior of Adams, Cullum, Cora, and Cole Twombly. Judge Jett also assigned pro bono attorneys for each of the four defendants and denied bail. According to the police affidavit the 4 suspects “  had “resources sufficient to organize and execute a complex murder and therefore, they also have the resources to flee if given the opportunity.”  The police documents also say Adams and Cullum own numerous firearms, and Cullum had a rifle, ammunition, body armor, and a “go-bag” prepared at his home.    Joining Nancy Grace Today: Squirrel - Founder of God's Misfits    Garrett Oates - Veronica Butler's Lawyer (during custody battle) Tom Smith - Former NYPD Detective, Co-Host of the GOLD SHIELDS Podcast; FB & Instagram: @thegoldshieldshow   Dr. Kendall Crowns – Chief Medical Examiner Tarrant County (Ft Worth) and Lecturer: University of Texas Austin and Texas Christian University Medical School Rachel Bernstein - Cult Expert - Therapist - Host of IndoctriNation Podcast   Lauren Conlin – Investigative Journalist, Host of The Outlier Podcast, and also Host of “Corruption: What Happened to Grant Solomon; X- @Conlin_Lauren/ Instagram- @LaurenEmilyConlin/YouTube- @LaurenConlin4   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A police affidavit says Tiffany Adams allegedly gave statements indicating she was responsible for the deaths of Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley.  Investigators now say they believe Butler and Jillian Kelley were lured to the location, arriving around  9:40 a.m. Besides the pools of blood, officers found Butler's glasses on the ground near a broken hammer.  Police say they believe the women were forced into another vehicle. Much information has been released in the probable cause affidavit, but not the women's cause of death. The bodies were found in a cattle pasture, leased by Tad Bert Cullum, the boyfriend of grandmother Tiffany Adams.  The location was narrowed down by cellphone data from three burner phones purchased by Adams. The phones first pinged at the location of Butler's abandoned car, the data then led police to the pasture property. Obvious signs of digging were discovered. A hole had been dug and filled back in. Inside the hole were the bodies of the missing women. The motive, according to investigators, is custody of Butler's two children: a custody battle has gone on for more than five years. Father Wrangler Rickman, Tiffany Adam's son, had custody of the children, but Rickman was confirmed to be in a rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma City.   Veronica Butler's custody arrangement allowed her supervised visitation with her children every Saturday. And reportedly, according to Butler's attorney, she was likely to be granted unsupervised visitation during an upcoming hearing. The affidavit states that  “Adams vehemently opposed this and went to great lengths to plan and purchase items used in Butler and Kelley's murders,” It continues... “Adams, Cullum, Cole and Cora were willing to kidnap and murder two victims to limit visitation for Butler.” Court documents allege that Adams and the other suspects tried to killer Butler once before in February.  Adams, her boyfriend, and the other couple drove to Butler's home near Hugoton, Kansas, intending to kill her. A witness told investigators that the planned was to throw an anvil through Butler's windshield while she was driving. They reasoned that it would look like an accident, but Butler did not leave her home. As state investigators pulled information from Adams' phone, it showed web searches for “taser pain level, gun shops, prepaid cellular phones, and how to get someone out of their house."  That's also according to the probable cause documents.  Adams reportedly purchased five stun guns before the women's disappearances, according to the documents. She bought three prepaid, unregistered burner phones from a Walmart near her.  All the prepaid burners stopped transmitting the mornings the women went missing. As James and Jennifer Crumbley awaited sentencing for their conviction for involuntary manslaughter, both sought to avoid jail. Their son Ethan Crumbley is serving life in prison for the school rampage where four were killed and seven others were injured. The gun used was given to the teen as a birthday present by his parents. James, convicted of involuntary manslaughter, asked the judge for "time served" and Jennifer asked the judge to let her serve her time on house arrest in a guest house at her attorney's home. Oakland County Prosecutor Marc Keast has recommended 10-to-15-year jail sentences for both Jennifer and her husband, James. While James was in jail,  damning phone conversations surfaced in which Crumbley had allegedly threatened Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. In a call from October 9, 2023, five months before the trial, Crumbley says, “Yeah, Karen McDonald, you're going down. … Go ahead, record this call. Send it to Karen McDonald. Tell her how James Crumbley is going to f------ take her down." In a call on December 23, 2023, Crumbley says “There will be retribution, believe me."  The threats were bad enough that Crumbley's jail communication privileges were revoked during his trial.  Neither received the sentence they asked for. The identity of the remains has not be confirmed as yet, but we do know the remains have been sent to the Oklahoma Medical examiner's office for identification, as well as the cause and manner of death.  Initially police said there was evidence of suspicious circumstances in Veronica Butler‘s car. That evidence was a small amount of blood inside the vehicle.  Police have now released new information.  The vehicle was found on a dirt path, 1,000 feet off of Oklahoma State Highway 95 and near the car, police find multiple puddles of blood, leading investigator to conclude the woman were shot, before they were abducted.    Reports began to surface that a caravan of law enforcement vehicles including swat teams was traveling in the panhandle of Oklahoma.  Local reporters said there were some 20 vehicles including swat and other law enforcement vehicles in Cimarron County which split into two groups. One group went to the home of Tifany Adams, the ex-mother-in-law of Veronica Butler, while the other group of law enforcement traveled to a different location in Cimarron County.  The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has now announced four people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley.   Tiffany Adams, the ex-mother-in-law of Veronica Butler, and Adams boyfriend, Tad Cullum, are in custody.   Cole Twombly and Cora Twombly were also arrested, all four taken to the Texas County Jail.  They each person faces 2 counts of suspicion of first-degree murder, 2 counts of kidnapping, and 1 count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.    Joining Nancy Grace Today: James Shelnutt - 27 years Atlanta Metro Area Major Case Detective, Former S.W.A.T. officer, Attorney (Gadsden, AL), The Shelnutt Law Firm, P.C., Fmr judge and municipal prosecutor ShelnuttLawFirm.com, Twitter: @ShelnuttLawFirm Tim Jansen -  Criminal defense lawyer and fmr. On the morning of July 20, 2020, Grant Solomon lost his life in what appeared to be a tragic accident, where he was reportedly struck by his own truck. According to Grant's father, Aaron Solomon, the only confirmed witness to the incident, Grant was retrieving baseball equipment from the bed of his truck when the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into reverse, and pulled him into a rock filled ditch. Due to inconsistencies in Aaron's claims surrounding Grant's death, numerous red flags have been raised. Because of this, Grant was hopeful that after turning 18, he'd be able to get custody of his sister Gracie. This would protect her from their father's alleged sexual, psychological, emotional, and physical abuse. Grant's sudden death prevented this. Did the federal government get played by Alex Murdaugh's former best friend? As mentioned on Cup Of Justice, Fleming will serve 46 months in federal prison and pay $102,221 in restitution for his involvement in the scheme to steal millions from the Satterfield family.
