For starters, BOTH the Falcons and Bears won their games last weekend, which might be the tenth time in show history that's happened. Second, we talk about what's in store for each team's next game—Atlanta vs. Buffalo (yikes) and Bears vs. Giants (foreshadowing...!)—plus get into some Quinnception for both teams. This episode was recorded on location at Variant Brewing in Roswell, GA. The occasion was Asif's farewell steak dinner (Brooklyn, we otw!) afterward. Happy New Beer: Gazellig Brewery by Moose Tracks
Recorded 1-9-20. It’s a new Year with plenty of beer. New segments, old jokes and beers from St Arnold, 4th Tap and Eureka Heights.
Host Ben Rice travels to New Helvetia Brewing in Sacramento, CA, to sit down with friends of the pod and truly terrific comedians Stephen Furey, Emma Haney, and Becky Lynn, to talk about their accomplishments in 2019, their hopes and aspirations for 2020, and drink some beers we've never had before. We also all realize that to make a living in the arts, you have to be a corporate shill, so we rave about our favorite things (please send us money) and rant about Ben's dictatorial hosting style. In this episode, we tackle beers from Little Beast, Sierra Nevada, North Coast, and Ruhstaller, bookended by known quantities from Asahi and New Helvetia. Thank you to New Helvetia for giving us a place to record and crafting some tasty stuff. Cheers to you all in the year 2020, and thank you for listening. Enjoy! We discuss getting better at things, The Quiet Wind In The American, Dom feels a responsibility to show people what’s possible. Also; still being able to do stuff 14 years later, DI analyses singing techniques, how to make a block harmony sound good. And: everyone with whom we regularly associate, we through music; a shoutout to Scottie Carpenter, BC vs AD, the naming of US streets (is it the best thing America’s ever done?) Happy New Beer! We kick off the new year with a look at how the folks at We Love LB and the Long Beach Homebrewers are using homebrew to build a better neighborhood. First we'll talk to Scott Jones, the executive director of We Love LB about his mission to strengthen his community and how beer helps and then we talk to Neil Ian Horowitz of the Long Beach Homebrewers about how the club got involved and what beer he provided to the festivities. It's an interesting model that we think can be duplicated around the world! But first we've got to take your feedback, cover the beer news including what the shutdown means for beer and Teri Farendorf's take on the "Inebriation" Industry, some foundational numbers and calculations and our favorite brewing experiences of the past year. Happy New Beer! Another holiday horror movie?! Give it to me now!
HAPPY NEW BEER! Welcome to 2018, it seems the Canadian Geeks and their livers have successfully made it to January. The plan was to release this on New Years Day but one or more of the hosts (Wallygator!!!) was lost in hangover hell. So in true CGCM fashion we missed the first day of 2018, in the words of Greg Frazer "should be Canadian drunks!". So with that said, we welcome you to "KISS MY ASS 2017", our massive End Of Year retrospective episode. Most podcasts come up with their year end top 10's but in true CGCM style the Geeks have come up their TOP 12. (as in a dozen beers) To keep the episode in under 7 hours, the boys agree to only play through their top 6 picks but discuss their individual top 12's. It's our longest episode yet but they leave no stone unturned as they proudly reveal some of the greatest rock and metal released in the year 2017! Who made the Number One picks of the year? Sure we could tell you here, but that would ruin the suspense and besides music is meant to be experienced! So grab a frosty beverage, turn it up and lend us your ears. Feel free to post your own top 12's of 2017 and maybe we can discover something we missed. Wallygator's D.I.D.T. - Heavens Fire - Children Of The Storm Meister's D.I.D.T. - Prowess - No Survivors

Happy New Beer! In the feedback we talk over a few things, like our missed quick tip last week and what does it mean when a beer is truly awesome. On a quick personal note from Drew - thanks for your kind words about Cookie. Thanks to your feedback, we're announcing that our charity for the first half of 2017 will be the shelter where I rescued Cookie 6 years ago - the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society. Let's try and raise enough funds via Patreon to hit a cool thousand by July! Then we hear from you, our listeners, about your Brew Year's Resolutions. What's everyone going to accomplish in 2017? In the pub, we quickly hit the classroom for a little AI brewing and Sierra Nevada's big contribution to beer science. In the library, we visit with Lars to talk about his latest research of Norway's brewing practices. In the lab, we take a moment to drop some results for a quick test of people's judging abilities. In the lounge, we visit with Chuck Macaluso, a Portland homebrewer of recent reknown. We're sitting in the Hair of the Dog Tasting room, so be warned, the audio is a little "lively". We tackle more of your questions in our Q&A segment and then Denny quickly tips with a note about id'ing your carboys before we close out with Drew's recent comic book finds (and of course Sherlock is back) Episode Links: San Gabriel Valley Humane Society - http://www.sgvhumane.org/ AI Beer - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-15/your-next-beer-might-...
