Send us a textIn this episode, I visit with Max Skinner, Senior Manager of Community Development for Movember. Men's health needs more than awareness—it needs action people can see, measure, and join. Max and I explore how a global mustache movement has evolved into a U.S.-anchored engine for impact, funding programs that tackle prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and the growing crisis of men's mental health and suicide prevention. We dive into Mind Moves, Movember's mental-wellness program tailored for collegiate student-athletes navigating performance pressure, identity shifts, and the new NIL reality. Hosted on a platform that reaches more than 150,000 athletes, Mind Moves teaches students how to spot warning signs, start real conversations, and use campus resources—turning education into prevention. We also unpack the Real Faces of Men's Health Report, a first-of-its-kind U.S. analysis offering state-by-state data, demographic insights, and policy recommendations that move the conversation from slogans to strategy. The numbers are stark—60 men die by suicide every hour worldwide, and three out of four suicides in the U.S. are men—but the solutions can start small. Max and I talk about meaningful check-ins, building shared rituals that keep friends connected, and why growing a mustache still works as the perfect conversation starter. If you want to help, it's easy: grow, move, host, or “Mo Your Own Way.” Link your miles with Strava, use free templates and guides, and see where funds go through clear U.S. reporting.Ready to turn a mustache into momentum? Text Us Your Feedback! (Likes, Dislikes, Guest/Conversation Recommendations). Why do so many men struggle in silence—and what can we do about it?In this powerful Men's Health Month episode, host Boysen Hodgson is joined by Julien Devereux, a longtime MKP leader, therapist, and suicide prevention advocate. Together, they unpack the unseen emotional struggles many men carry, even in supportive spaces like men's circles. Julien shares a proven, structured process to help groups talk openly about suicide and mental health—breaking the silence that often isolates men at their most vulnerable. We also hear from Andy Miller, who founded the DRM Foundation after losing his 25-year-old son Drew to suicide. Andy's reflections are raw and human, revealing both the pain of loss and the power of turning grief into action. This episode is not just about raising awareness—it's about learning to ask better questions, to create stronger circles of care, and to recognize when a man needs more than just support—he needs real help.If you've ever lost someone to suicide, struggled yourself, or want to be better equipped to show up for the men in your life—this conversation is for you.Key LinksMovember – The Real Face of Men's Health Report

Men are 40 per cent more likely to die prematurely than women, while 97 per cent of GPs say they saw male patients presenting with suicidal behaviour in the past year. That's according to the “Real Face of Men's Health” report ahead of Movember, and joining Newstalk Breakfast to discuss the findings is Denis McCauley, GP and former President of the Irish Medical Organisation and Coroner for the District of Donegal.
Movember's Real Face of Men's Health report draws on new research to reveal a concerning picture of men's health in Ireland The report findings show men in Ireland are dying too young, from largely preventable causes; two in five of all male deaths are premature under the age of 75 and men are 40% more likely to die prematurely across the five leading causes of premature death. To discuss these findings Ivan was joined by Cliona Fitzpatrick, Director of Policy and Evidence at Movember.

Season 5: Episode 212 In this episode of North American Ag Spotlight, Chrissy Wozniak is joined by Jaime Jerrels, Senior Director of Policy and Outreach at the Florida Farm Bureau Federation, to discuss one of the most powerful and overlooked challenges in agriculture today: farmer mental health. Florida Farm Bureau, in partnership with UF/IFAS and the Mind Your Melon Foundation, has released its first-ever statewide mental health report—and the findings are deeply personal, alarming, and a call to action.Jaime brings more than just her professional insights to the conversation. Raised on a peanut and cattle farm in Levy County and now raising five children on that same land with her husband, she speaks from the heart—both as a policy advocate and as a woman of faith. Her passion for standing in the gap for farmers who often carry the weight of the world in silence is rooted in her belief that agriculture is more than an industry—it's a mission field. The conversation goes far beyond statistics, touching on hurricanes, financial stress, isolation, and the unique burdens of rural life. Jaime shares her firm belief that faith, prayer, and community can bring healing and strength where it's needed most. She encourages struggling producers to lean on their relationship with God, seek out trusted connections, and remember that telehealth and other support tools are available—and confidential.Chrissy and Jaime also explore the critical role churches, Farm Bureau, and peer-to-peer relationships play in restoring connection and hope to those silently struggling.Learn more and view the full 2025 Mind Your Melon Farmer Wellbeing Survey at: https://www.floridafarmbureau.orgNorth American Ag is devoted to highlighting the people & companies in agriculture who impact our industry and help feed the world. In this episode, the Collegiate analyses GRCC's mental health report, reflects on the sports season and interviews Interim President Steven Triezenberg The Collegiate Live is the official podcast of GRCC's student publication, The Collegiate. Each week, members of the Collegiate staff analyze headlines and break down what's important to know.
The MAHA report highlights four indisputable drivers of unhealthy children—ultra-processed food, toxic chemical exposure, screen-driven stress, and rampant prescription drug use—yet skirts around or ignores other intertwined factors.Action items listed in the report focus on “more research” instead of bold levers that could actually reverse disease trends. By avoiding hard fights with Big Ag, Big Pharma, and Big Tech, the report risks becoming another half-measure unless policymakers overhaul money flows, incentives, and regulatory capture to put children's health before corporate profit.
