Ziel der geraderichtenden Arbeit ist es deshalb, das Pferd sowohl seitlich als auch horizontalbesser ins Gleichgewicht zu bringen, damit rechte und linke Körperhälfte möglichst gleichmäßig arbeiten. Sie gehen der Sache auf den Grund, warum Bodenarbeit einen derartigen Aufschwung erlebt und weshalb zugleich immer mehr PferdebesitzerInnen sich nicht mehr in den Sattel schwingen.Soweit sind sich die drei Trainer:innen einig: Bodenarbeit gehört seit jeher zur Ausbildung eines Pferdes. Sie beginnt bereits beim sicheren Führen, Anhalten, Rückwärtsrichtenund beim respektvollen Umgang miteinander. Man lernt seine eigene Körpersprache bewusster einzusetzen. Ein Pferd lediglich im langsamen Schritt durch die Halle zu führen reiche weder für den Aufbau der Muskulatur noch für Herz, Kreislauf, Lunge, Sehnen, Bänder und Knochen aus. Deshalb empfiehlt Sibylle einfache Selbstchecks:1. Sitzbeinhöcker wahrnehmenSitzt du gleichmäßig auf beiden Seiten?Oder „hängst“ du auf einer Seite?Viele Reiter fühlten links mehr Druck auf den Sitzbeinhöckern oder Po-Backen, weil sie tatsächlich mit den Oberkörper nach rechts kippen. Das Gefühl kann man übrigens gut im Stehen testen: wenn man sich vermehrt auf das linke Bein stellt,bewegt sich der Oberkörper nach rechts. 2. Bügelkontakt prüfenIst der Druck auf beiden Füßen gleich?Oder zieht ein Bein mehr hoch?Die Schiefe entsteht oft von oben, nicht im Bein!Da das Gehirn immer in seiner gewohnten Schiefe bleiben will, muss man es austricksen, sprich die Schiefe bewusst wahrnehmen, bewusst korrigieren und dann nochmals überprüfen.Der Gamechanger sei hier das Becken, das man sich wie eine Schale  mit Flüssigkeit vorstellen sollte: Kippt sie nach vorne, fließt sie Flüssigkeit vorne raus. Kippt die Schüssel nach hinten, verliere ich sie hinten. Optimal wäre es, die Schüssel minimal nach vorne zu kippen.Auch für die Sitzbeinhöcker hat sie ein Bild: Sitzbeinhöcker -Taschenlampen, die leicht nach vorne unten leuchten. Das ermöglicht Mitschwingen im Trab und Galopp.Wichtig sei, dass die Bewegung aus den Hüftgelenken kommt und nicht aus dem Oberkörper.
