With Evan away with this week, Mark brings in pinch co-host Bobby Scales to help break down a strong week for the Detroit Tigers. The guys recap the team’s series win against the Seattle Mariners and the homestead sweep of the Chicago White Sox. Mark and Bobby analyze the continuation of the team’s 2024 grind culture and highlight the noteworthy contributions from Spencer Torkelson, Riley Greene, and Kerry Carpenter. The guys also talk what they’ve seen from Jackson Jobe in his past two starts and how position player chaos has been working out to start the season. Later in the show, Mark and Bobby preview the upcoming series against the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins. With the Yankees coming to town, the guys also cover the buzz surrounding the torpedo bats and why they may be more of a fad rather than a game changer.

Hour 1 The Yankees dropped game 2 to the Royals last night. Carlos Rodon could not get out of the fourth inning and Aaron Judge isn't getting it done right now. People seem to be blaming Rodon, but the Yankees did nothing offensively. This could be a ‘tipping point spot' for the Yankees if they lose this series where everything will change from Cashman to Boone. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Yankees losing to the Royals. Carlos Rodon talked after the game about his performance. Aaron Judge talked about not coming through with 2-men on but he'll ‘get 'em next time'. The Tigers got a dramatic 9th inning HR from Kerry Carpenter as they beat the Guardians. The Chiefs improved to 5-0 as they beat the Saints last night. Adam Schein is not a fan of the Bengals play calling Zac Taylor, ‘loser, loser, loser'. In the final segment of the hour, game 3 between the Mets and Phillies is at 5:08pm and the Mets are handing out rally towels to all fans. The Mets have not played in front of their home fans in a long time now. We talked about Hurricane Milton that is going to impact the Tampa Bay area. Hour 2 There is a long time to go in the NFL season. Just look at how great the Saints looked in the first two weeks and now they're 2-3. There's no reason to think the Jets can't turn it around. There will be a game where they figure it out and explode. They have the Bills on Monday night and their defense is not so great right now. There doesn't seem to be any confidence in Saleh and Rodgers has not looked good at all. We took some calls from concerned Yankees fans. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Royals beating the Yankees. Carlos Rodon talked about the fourth inning that did him in. Bob Costas seemed to be rooting for Giancarlo Stanton when he bounced into a double play. The Tigers got a dramatic 9th inning HR from Kerry Carpenter as they beat the Guardians. The Chiefs beat the Saints on MNF. Derek Carr went down with an oblique injury. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer won his own golf tournament yesterday with Cal Clutterbuck. Gio didn't think Boomer should play with the best golfer in the county. Hour 3 We went right to the Yankees calls to start the segment. A caller wants Aaron Judge to lead off for protection in the lineup. A caller said that Bob Costas said the Yankees told Giancarlo not to run hard because of his injuries. Another caller wonders if the Mets or Yankees have the ‘pulse of NY right now'. A Mets fan called in to say he was escorted out of the stadium in Philadelphia ‘for his own safety'. Boomer wants Evan to go to the Mets game instead of doing his afternoon show. Jerry returns for another update and starts with John Sterling at the start of the game saying the crowd turns him on. The Royals scored 4 runs in the fourth and that was enough. We heard audio of Bob Costas talking about the injuries to Stanton over the years. Costas also talked about Colin Farrell as the Penguin. In the final segment of the hour, we took another call from a Mets fan that was heckled in Philadelphia. Hour 4 A guy named Nick, who goes by NGXB professionally, is in the studio. He is a pianist/entertainer. He played Queen, Dua Lipa and Aerosmith. Jerry returned for his final update of the day and started with the sounds of the Yankees losing to the Royals in game 2. The Mets are finally home tonight for game 3 against the Phillies. The Chiefs improved to 5-0 as the Chiefs beat the Saints. Shannon Sharpe and Dan Orlovsky went back and forth arguing about Aaron Rodgers. The Moment of The Day: Boomer won his own golf tournament by teaming with a great golfer. In the final segment of the show, the Mets play at 5:08pm so get there early. The NHL season is also starting and the Utah Hockey Club plays their first season. Keith Hernandez is throwing out the first pitch tonight for the Mets.

6 players that can push you over the top for the stretch run, including how the revamped Jays look following their trade deadline deals. --- 00:00 - Fred Pod 8-13 01:30 - Players to mention 02:00 - Junior Caminero, 05:30 - Christopher Morel 06:45 - Jordan Walker, 09:40 - Zebby Matthews, 12:00 - Seth Lugo 14:45 - Kerry Carpenter, George Kirby 19:40 - Lane Thomas 22:30 - MLB has played exactly one month of games since the start of second-half play. Here are some stats that are relevant for fantasy discussion. 23:50 - Luis Robert leads the Majors by a wide margin with 40 SO. Given his second half slash line (.123/.155/.210) and lackluster offense, is it reasonable to bench him? Maybe he has mailed it in? 27:20 - Aaron Judge ranks first in walks by a wide margin (27). He also ranks second in OPS. I still go back to all the projection systems, who told us to draft him in the top-5. Do we need to learn a lesson about overrating injury history, especially with hitters? 35:15 - Jake Burger has already hit more homers in the second half (12) than the first half (10). He is also among the second half strikeout leaders, if that matters. He is the leader in second half homers. 36:30 - Xavier Edwards places first in steals (13). Hitting .360. Have the Marlins found a piece to the puzzle? 41:50 - Vladdy leads the Majors in second half OPS (.1475). Hitting .464 with more walks than strikeouts. Is this a hot streak, or is Vladdy finally turning the corner? Along with Judge, Vladdy is another player who the projection systems told us to draft ahead of his ADP. 48:15 - Tanner Houck 5.48 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 12:12: K:BB in 23 IP. 51:40 - Elly De La Cruz ranks second in strikeouts but first in steals and is batting .310. Which shows that nothing can stop Elly from being valuable. 53:30 - Ryne Nelson 3.19 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 36:9 K:BB. Spencer Arrighetti 3.60 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 36:6 K:BB. Spencer Schwellenbach (3.12 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, 36:2 K:BB). These three SPs are second in SO, behind Blake Snell. --- Pick6 Download the new DraftKings Pick Six app and use code RWPICKS.
