Alex Gumm was living with his parents in Maine when he took a vow of silence, adopted a plant-based diet, and delved into research on various religions, conspiracy theories, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life on Earth. After breaking his silence, he informed his parents that he was heading to Hawaii to seek enlightenment. The next day, he shaved his head, and his parents dropped him off at a bus station. He was 25 years old when he arrived on Kauai on February 22, 2018—and vanished two days later. With no clues, many theories have emerged, with his friends and family believing he's still alive and living off the grid in the island's vast wilderness. What happened to Alex Gumm? Listen as we dive into Kauai, the case of Alex Gumm, and how to stay alive on vacation. Hands down, this is the best shrimp you'll ever taste. Known for its sweet flavor, superior texture and stunning visual appeal, Kauai Shrimp™ is the preferred choice of Kauai's and Hawaii's top chefs. Kauai Shrimp are Pacific White leg shrimp found in the wild from the gulf of California to the western edge of Peru. This shrimp is recognized for its incredible sweetness as we endeavor to replicate the natural environment in which the shrimp are grown. We grow Kauai Shrimp in the most optimum, eco-friendly environment possible and use no chemicals or antibiotics in the breeding, grow out or processing. Our process pure and simple just the way nature intended it. Kauai Shrimp is a vertically integrated shrimp farming facility encompassing 258 acres of former sugar cane fields on the west end of Kauai Hawaii. All breeding, grow out, processing and packaging is handled by Kauai Shrimp. By industry standards our facilities are small, featuring forty, one acre, ponds and eight half-acre ponds with an annual harvest of one million pounds of shrimp. Our processing facility is fifteen minutes from the farm and the shrimp are either frozen at 25 below zero or shipped out fresh, the day of the harvest. All Kauai Shrimp are sold whole, head-on, by the count per pound. Hawaii is an optimum environment for farm-raised shrimp as the sunny weather provides for a year-round growing season. We support over 50 families on the west side of Kauai. We are active in the community donating shrimp used in our breeding production to local organizations that use the shrimp in fundraising efforts. In 2019 that amounted to over 50k in revenue for local charities and organizations in need. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW US ON Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wherehawaiieats/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wherehawaiieats/ #kauai #shrimp ##farmraised

Our family-operated business started from a love of spicy ginger beverages and desire to support our local farmers. We started experimenting with small batches using locally grown ginger, Kaua'i honey and seasonal fruits. Once our recipe was perfected, we decided to share it with local restaurants and markets! Our nonalcoholic ginger beer makes the most amazing craft cocktails and soda floats. It can also be enjoyed without any additions as a refreshing soda on the beach. We hope you love it as much as we do! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW US ON Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wherehawaiieats/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wherehawaiieats/ #gingersoda #Handcrafted #ginger #kauai

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 6! We're running a special episode this week that features Dave's brother-in-law. We'll be speaking with him most of the episode because he has an absolutely wild story of survival to tell: He was vacationing on the island of Kauai (Hawaii) when an evening hike turned into something much more dangerous. Before we start into his story, we talk about the wild weekends of shopping at home improvement stores. Come for a gallon of paint, stay for the adventure hike! (Our normal format will return next week.)
Our special guest today is Jeff Smith. Jeff is a great man and a "Serial Entrepreneur" in life. Jeff has grown and exited some great Utah companies and is currently Chairman of the Board of Jet Dental that he and his son Jordan currently President, created a few years ago. The cool thing is that Jeff donates large sums of money to some wonderful causes like Make A Wish, ShelterKids, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Operation Underground Railroad! Jeff does a lot of good for others and perhaps this Close Call With Death has prompted him to even more. Jeff and his other son Josh were in Kauai Hawaii in 2004 hiking the Na Pali Coast trail when their family of 5, Jeff, his wife Sandee, and their three kids, came to Kanakapi ai Beach about 2 miles in. Josh, then 14 years of age goes out into the waters for a swim in Rip Tide conditions prior to Jeff and his wife and family arriving. Josh got sucked out in a rip tide with 16 foot waves crashing in and when he was in trouble, Jeff jumped into the scenario and both became dangerously close to death in a battle of time, brutal conditions, and a fight for survival. This story will blow your mind. Hug your children and your spouse just a little tighter tonight and just imagine what it would have been for you to have gone through this experience like they did! Jeff is an avid family man, traveler, golfer, mountain climber, and surfer!!! You will feel Jeff's energy and his love for his son and family --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bob-howard9/message

Byron shares how he got started in franchise-investing and how lucrative it's been.We also discuss our philosophies when investing with friends. Byron says they need to be a good steward of friends’ money and 100% committed to the project they're working on. He gives equal importance to the person's character. Also Byron & I share a passion for travel. Since we've both been to Eastern Europe, Kauai (Hawaii), and Nicaragua, we talk about why those are outstanding places to visit.Great discussion with a great friend. I'm the first to say it: that message request section of the DMs can be a pretty scary place, but once in a while, you can meet someone pretty amazing. Here's my story of how it went down in my DM in paradise. No really -- Kauai, Hawaii is like visiting the Garden of Eden. Music Kent Jones - Don't Mind Yo Gotti - Down in the DM
"The concept of Burning Worlds is new. It is the answer to our questions about the 3-D world conditions and the possible evolution of Earth and Humanity. It is the best news I have heard. We are streaming toward home or God consciousness. Our yearning for something not based in fear has propelled us into a new perspective of reality. Who we are, why we are here, where we are going, these are the answers you will find in this book. My client for QHHT sessions brought forth this new information and experience for us to consider. You may find some of the information outside of your present experience. That will most likely be the case. I ask that you inhabit a mind that considers anything is possible."Suzanne Drexel Franzen practices QHHT in Kauai Hawaii. Trained by Dolores Cannon in 2012 she practices her method exclusively.
