In the latest episode of the Capitalist Investor podcast, hosts Derek, Luke, and Tony delved into the lucrative world of franchise investments. This episode provides a wealth of insight into different franchises and what makes them appealing from an investor's standpoint. Here are the five hot topics discussed:1. Crumble Cookies: A Sweet Success StoryThe conversation kicked off with a tasty discussion about Crumble Cookies. Luke recounted a fascinating encounter with an entrepreneur who built a mini-empire of Crumble Cookie franchises in Arizona and Utah, highlighting the chain's rapid growth and immense popularity. Despite its current saturation, it served as an example of how a well-timed, high-quality product can lead to substantial financial rewards.2. Senior Care Franchises: The Evergreen NeedTony provided a compelling case for investing in senior care franchises, such as Visiting Angels. With the aging baby boomer population, the demand for non-medical in-home care is skyrocketing. Tony emphasized that this sector could witness at least a 20 to 30-year growth trajectory, making it a stable and potentially lucrative investment. However, he also pointed out the challenges, particularly hiring qualified and compassionate staff.3. Fast Food Giants: The Alluring Consistency of Taco BellDerek made a strong argument for fast food franchises, specifically Taco Bell. He noted the universal appeal of Taco Bell, drawing patrons from diverse economic backgrounds. With an always-busy drive-through line, Derek sees Taco Bell as a reliable and consistent moneymaker. The discussion also touched on the effectiveness of using apps for maximizing customer engagement and loyalty, enhancing the franchise's profitability.4. Mental Health Services: Addressing a Growing CrisisThe hosts also touched upon the rising importance of mental health services. With increasing mental health challenges, especially among younger generations, investing in mental health franchises can be both profitable and socially impactful. These businesses are becoming more prevalent and are aimed at providing therapeutic and psychological support, which is increasingly in demand.5. Automotive Services: The Timeless Necessity of Oil ChangesTony brought attention to the enduring need for automotive services, like those offered by Take 5 Oil Change franchises. Despite the looming transition to electric vehicles (EVs), Tony believes the current fleet of gas-powered cars still provides a robust market for at least another decade. He acknowledged the potential challenge these businesses might face with the rise of EVs but suggested that they could pivot to offer mechanical services for electric vehicles.ConclusionThe latest episode of the Capitalist Investor podcast provided a comprehensive look at various franchise opportunities, each with its own set of advantages and challenges. Whether it's the sweet allure of Crumble Cookies, the essential service of senior care, the evergreen demand for fast food, the rising importance of mental health services, or the practical needs of automotive care, each option offers unique investment opportunities. As always, the hosts recommend doing thorough research and consulting with qualified professionals before making any significant financial commitments.Stay tuned to the Capitalist Investor for more insights into the dynamic world of investments and financial strategies.

Two out of every three people will need a higher level of care in the later years of life. Like your legal or financial planning, the sooner you become familiar with your care options, the better the outcome you will achieve. In this episode, Richard Ruda of Visiting Angels discusses the conversations to have with older adults, the types of home care, and questions to ask to make sure that a home care agency will deliver high-quality care.
I see you in the grocery store or out in the community. You're caring for a loved one whose health is complicated or deteriorating, maybe an elderly parent or medically-complex spouse or adult child, and you're exhausted. The daily grind is wearing on you. You need help, but you're not sure where to turn. My guest for this episode knows the landscape well. Rod Lane is the Owner and Executive Director of Visiting Angels in Springfield, Illinois. He shares his passion for home services, as well as helpful perspective about the support offered by Visiting Angels' caregivers. I ask Rod the questions you most want answered. What is the difference between home services, home health care and home hospice care? What supports do home services caregivers provide? How are needs assessed? What if my loved one isn't open to support from professional caregivers? How much do home services cost, and what resources might help with those expenses? How do I access services designed specifically to support U.S. military veterans? Where do I look online for home services care options? Rod also shares his thoughts on self-care for family caregivers, and a word of encouragement about mindset. I'm thrilled to share this conversation and resource information about Visiting Angels. Whether you live in the Central Illinois area or elsewhere, I believe it's important to know about resources that may lighten your load in the short term and help preserve your health for the long run. One thing that struck us as we read classic novels is the many references to our heroines taking food to sick people. Today we revisit “invalid care,” and show how bookish stars such as Pollyanna and Jo March teach us how to become more thoughtful, compassionate, and supportive via food and drink to our friends and family today.Shownotes:Pollyanna, you're killing us here with this meat jelly thing! And Jo March–what on earth is blancmange and why did you bring it to Laurie?Today we tell you how to comfort like a heroine through food and drink, walking in the bouncy footsteps of Pollyanna, who never entered a sick room without bearing a quivering bowl of calf's foot jelly. We also compare Pollyanna with Anne of Green Gables (could Eleanor Porter have plagiarized our LMM?), and share our best tips for pulling together the most comforting care packages. Caring for them and navigating through the available options can be challenging and emotional for all those involved. Join us for a conversation about these tough issues. Natalie Chantal McGrady is helping her five sisters lovingly care for their 95-year-old mother while they hold jobs and other responsibilities. Chantal has worked in corporate America for over 25 years, currently focusing on supplier diversity at a large agricultural company. She's been married for over 27 years and has three children who are almost out of the house. We met Chantal as college freshmen together, and we are fortunate to have maintained friendship with her. Join us to meet Chantal and hear her story! Show Highlights: How Chantal's dad passed away 23 years ago at age 74, and her mom has been living on her own since then How Chantal's mom took classes through the Office of Aging with a group of friends to learn to “age in place” and navigate living on her own How a two-story house became too much for her in the past two years How a variety of resources are available for aging and related issues How Chantal and her sisters had to deal with the problem of getting their mom to move from her home of 50+ years to a more appropriate place Why planning ahead is key in understanding resources and options as you age How Chantal and her sisters are dividing up the responsibilities to make it work How the emotional piece of caring for their mother can lead to arguments and disagreements–but they have to work together Why they take a 30-day rotation to live with their mom full-time since her recent fall and femur break How organizations like Visiting Angels offer help and support–though it is expensive and somewhat unpredictable How Chantal and her sisters participate in activities and TV shows with their mom that she enjoys so she can keep her routine How to prepare aging parents to watch out for scams and telemarketers Chantal's advice about preparing for your own “Golden Years”: Know your numbers (social security, 401K, retirement, insurance, etc.). Why it is essential to get medical proxy and power of attorney in place Takeaways from Chantal about caring for aging parents: “Respect the parent's need to be independent for as long as possible. Understand the safety issues. Don't get into analysis paralysis. Explore the resources that are available in your area. Be flexible. Understand their physical and mental limitations with empathy. Be patient.” Why self-care is important when caring for an aging parent–along with keeping a sense of humor Resources: Connect with Chantal: https://www.facebook.com/38523877947/posts/brought-back-a-partially-baked-chicken-wing-pizza-and-a-cheese-one-my-college-ag/10154819403097948/ (Facebook), https://www.instagram.com/mcgradynatalie/?hl=en (Instagram), and https://www.linkedin.com/in/nataliechantalmcgrady (LinkedIn).

In this episode, you will learn: • Christopher’s brief bio • What the Visiting Angels service is all about • What led Chris to find GoBundance • Chris’ horizontal income and what he has been investing in • Chris’ life happiness index • What Chris does to stay fit and healthy • The most poignant moments in Chris’ life • Chris’ one big goal • Plus, so much more! Chris Smith’s first career was in Christian Camping, for 9 years, as the onsite director of Angeles Crest Christian Camp north of Pasadena California. After obtaining his general contractors license in California, Chris operated a construction company for 5 years in the Diamond Bar area. In 1999, Chris moved his family of 6 children to Pagosa Springs CO and began construction in this area. From 1999 to 2010, he built over 40 homes, with his last project as a 40-unit condo development. In 2010, they changed careers to start in-home senior care by buying the franchise in this region. They did this as a result of his family and people in their church who suffered from Alzheimer's dementia and needed significant help. As CVO, Chris Smith is the strategic business planner for their many Visiting Angels offices. He motivates the staff with the latest company goals to continuously improve and grow the services they provide. His persistence is invaluable as their Visiting Angels agency continues to expand and provide the best care to their clients. Chris is also an advocate with many local care support agencies. He relates, "We heard about Visiting Angels and were attracted by the opportunity to do something good, start a business that would bring more jobs to our area and also help my Grandma. We do serve as angels as we help to brighten homes and better the lives of our clients.”

For the second time this month, the oldest living U.S. President is recovering from a serious fall. 95-year-old Jimmy Carter is one of 50 million seniors living in our nation right now – and the CDC says one out of four of these seniors experience some sort of fall every year. This is why local experts with Visiting Angels, a provider of in-home care, work daily to educate seniors and their loved ones in our community about how to keep grandma and grandpa from tripping and falling while navigating through the rooms and hallways of the family home. They‘ve even created a program called Safe & Steady to keep local seniors secure in the place they love the most, their homes. . Last Saturday Key Bank and the IFA delivered a pilot ½ day educational program, the first of what I hope will be many more to come and an amazing event it was, in Cleveland, Ohio, Key Bank’s Home Base. I actually got to participate in this event, which hands down, was the best of any such events I have ever participated in, during my 22+ years of promoting diversity and inclusion in franchising What made this one such a game-changer from my point of view, was the deep level of franchisee participation in the program. This came in the names of Vanessa Whiting, owner of 15 Cleveland Popeye’s restaurants, Michael Obi,CEO of Spectrum Global, a multi-unit Little Caesar’s franchisee and Connie Hill-Johnson, of Visiting Angels, all three, powerful and relatable communicators and business people, who helped convey to the audience how much franchised business ownership has changed their lives and those they employ and serve. Today we’re going to continue that conversation, as I have invited Visiting Angels franchisee Connie Hill Johnson here today, to bring the conversation about diversity in franchising right her, as we will speak about more than just RETURN on INVESTMENT in franchising but ROI too, as it pertains to RETURN ON INCLUSION and why more franchisors, should be focusing their eyes on THAT ball as well.

A majority of Christian churches have already succumbed to this Dominionist agenda foisted on the churches by false apostles driven by false prophecies from false prophets. Wagner is talking about the government of the church, under the leadership of the new foundational restored "apostles", OVERTHROWING the governments of the world. Apostolic conferences called, 2008, Staring the Year off Right. Dutch Sheets spoke shamelessly about their (NAR) groups plans to take over. He showed a doted map of the United States with hundreds of large and smaller dots spaced evenly across the country. He explained that the larger dots showed the apostolic hubs: the teaching and training centers they had already implemented. The smaller dots showed the individual apostles that had been put in place. Underneath the apostles, he explained, would be the individual churches that would be, a local expression of the global church. He stressed that we were no longer to think in terms of our local church but in terms of the Kingdom (buzz word for the coming one world church). It might alarm you that they have deemed 2008 as the year of the “great shift” They want you to be converted into becoming a new style Cosmic Christian but you must interchange your biblical Jesus Christ and His Deity with a NEW AGE CHRIST, but you learn to open your own personal Star Gate. Bob Jones’ Third Wave’s chief guru spiritual experiences are extraordinary, to say the least. They consist of “Voices,” “angels,” and “translations to heaven” which give him revelations that are not only contrary to Scripture but are easily categorized as of the New Age variety of spirituality. Repent and call out to Jesus to give you mercy and return to the cross before it is too late. There is no Scriptural authority for these sinful witchcraft practices of “Christians opening Stargates.

Bio Steve Laskarides: Owner and Executive Director of Visiting Angels Home Care serving Ahwatukee. Steve has gone from 20 years of experience as an Engineer and Engineering Manager working in the high tech semi-conductor industry to owning a Home Care company. One may wonder how does that happen! How do you go from being an Engineer to running a Home Care company!?? Steve has passion to ensure the Welfare and Safety of others. Steve started out his previous career as an Engineer responsible for $100+ million worth of equipment and loved every minute of it but after about 5 years and suffering from some serious tunnel vision Steve desired to do more and more importantly work more closely with others. As a young Engineer Steve started down a leadership path and quickly became a Group Leader and Manager of up to 25 people. Steve loved helping his employee’s both professionally and personally. The majority of Steve’s employees worked in the manufacturing environment and early on a few of his employees were hurt on the job. Luckily nothing too serious but this kept Steve up at night! In Engineering you are following the same procedures and checklists on a weekly sometimes daily basis. If one person got hurt following a procedure the likelihood that someone else could get hurt was high. To address this Steve developed a Proactive Safety Program that determined when and where the next injury would occur before it happened and then systematically removed that potential. This effectively eliminated injuries for his team, it worked so well that it was disseminated to his department of about 500 people, that worked so well it was disseminated to his factory (3000 people), that worked so well that it was disseminated to the entire campus (6000 people), that worked so well that it was then disseminated to the corporation worldwide!! Keeping people Safe and Saving Lives is what Steve enjoyed the most during his previous career, Steve realized that caring for others was his passion and calling in life. Even though Steve had a great career he planned to officially “retire” at the earliest opportunity to start his next chapter in life which would have occurred when he reached 49 and a half but an opportunity presented itself to retire about 5 years earlier than planned and Steve seized it and he is very happy that he did! Steve has a great business sense and entrepreneurial spirit, Steve always knew that he wanted to get into Senior Care in some way be it starting a Group Home, investing in an Assisted Living Facility, or Home Care. After much research Steve chose Home Care and Visiting Angles as one of the best! With this Steve gets to continue to keep people safe and improve their well-being, he still gets to help employees develop in their careers and personal lives, and he gets to exercise his business acumen and entrepreneurialship, its what he was meant to do! Steve is highly active in our local Senior and business communities. Steve is an active board member of the Senior Advocacy Group of Ahwatukee (the SAGA), Steve sponsors local church events, donations to local churches, and he is a member of the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce. 480-886-1165 & 800-365-4189 16815 S Desert Foothills Pkwy, Suite 123, Phoenix, AZ 85048 http://www.visitingangels.com/SouthPhoenix/home
