Slasher movies have never really been my jam. They always felt predictable and repetitive so I mostly avoided them. Martin convinced me to watch one of the more interesting films in one of the bigger slasher franchises. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. This was a major turning point for the Friday franchise and one of the many I had never seen from this franchise. This is a chat with current Giant Bomb employee Matthew Rorie about his former job as one of the founding members of Screened. Screened was a film website that I was a major fan of and deep in the community. Defending Your Movie as a podcast is an homage to a video feature that started on Screened. For me, doing this podcast right meant having someone on who ran the site as a way to thank them and pay tribute to the content that they made which I hope to keep alive. Rorie was kind enough to come on the show and talk about his time on Screened and how it was kind of a fly by the seat of your pants operation. We also get into some fun movie chat in the back half. We will be getting to movies starting with episode 2 but for now I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane about a little movie website that could!
