Since the kiddos of KZN haven't had a holiday in a few weeks, Stacey and J Sbu tried to bring magic back into their lives. This Wednesday, Stacey and J Sbu asked the little ones of the province what they think is the most magical place in the world before asking where they'd like to go. We heard quite a few impressive answers, including Hawaii! One things for sure, these littles are smarter than we think. If you missed it live, tune in!

Inside Voices, Community Conversations: Provider Spotlight: "Kiddie Korner Daycare" by WNHH Community Radio
Aunty Stacey and uncle J Sbu realised that they were (lowkey) old and decided to ask the little ones of the province to teach them some cool young slang. From rizz to skibbidi, these millennials were schooled in the ways of Gen Alpha. They also had a FULL lesson from a youngster who shared a list of terms that they had never heard of! If you missed it live, tune in!

This edition of Crosstalk began with Jim reminding listeners in Florida, and particularly in Wisconsin, about today's election. In Wisconsin the key race is between Republican Brad Schimel and Democrat Susan Crawford. Jim described this election (which has had over 100 million dollars poured into it) as really being about life vs. abortion, male and female vs. gender fluidity, religious liberty vs. religious bondage and the rule of law vs. judicial activism. As Jim explained, even congressional boundaries are at stake as well. Audio from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries highlights this segment of the program. The remainder of the program addressed some of the violence going on in American society today in order to make you "understanding of the times" (1 Chronicles 12:32). Matthew 24:37 tells us what life was like in the days of Noah and that this environment would repeat itself at the time of the coming of the Son of Man. Is it possible his coming is not far off? You decide as Jim gives you a brief glimpse of the violence through numerous stories like the ones below:Violence in the womb--Since the Supreme Court's abortion decision in 1973, there's been just over 66.6 million babies killed in the U.S. via abortion. An American teenage girl was taken into custody by Paris police after her newborn baby was thrown from the window of a hotel on the outskirts of the city. The baby died of severe injuries.A Kentucky museum says a Planned Parenthood staffer inadvertently provided sexually explicit coloring books to kids as young as 8 years old at an event earlier this month.Lawmakers in Maryland advanced a bill (HB-380—the "Condoms for Kiddies" bill).

Content Warning: Snakes and conversations relating to the violence against animalsEpisode Description: Science Communicator and Scientist Laura Kojima comes on the to share stories of community engagement around snakes in the West and South with varying results. In their own words: Hi I'm Laura! I am currently a wildlife biologist with a passion for the conservation of reptiles and amphibians. I am particularly interested in how contaminants introduced in our environment affect the health of these creatures and what we can do as scientists to improve their conditions. I am currently doing a PhD graduate degree at UC Davis studying threats of survival of the giant gartersnake, a snake only found in the Central Valley of California. Some of these threats include loss of habitat and exposure to pesticides since the snake occurs in areas where rice crop is grown. In this episode, Mark and Adena let the listener experience a conversation about Mark's birthday thoughts. 1. I'm done sitting at “the kiddie table.” Here is what I mean. At family gatherings the kiddie table is obviously for the kids. It's not a bad table, but it's not where the decision makers sit. Speaking metaphorically, sometimes I feel like I live at the kiddie table and wait for an adult to authorize me to make decisions. This mindset makes me live small. This mindset makes me look for someone who has authority to give me permission to do something. 2. I am done trying to sit at “the adult table.” Here is what I mean. Let's face it. We all like the kiddie table better than the adult table. Kids are free. As adults it's easy to be fake. At the adult table we have accumulated grudges against some people, and agendas with other people. The real stuff is easier to find at the kiddie table. The innocence of children leads to more laughter and unguarded love. The adult table can be full of insecurities and posturing. 3. I am done thinking about what table I am sitting at. I feel like I have spent so much of my life trying to find my spot at a table. As a kid in school I used to look around the cafeteria and wonder if I belonged anywhere. I wondered how everyone else seemed to have friends. I wondered why I didn't. Ultimately, I'm done trying to fit in. It's the wrong goal. 4. I want to spend my life serving the tables. A life full of service is a life full of opportunity. There is nobody to impress…ever. There are only people to lovingly serve. 5. I want to spend my life with the people who are serving the tables. Culture pressures us to get the best seat, at the best table, and get the best steak. I don't judge those who fall into that trap, because we all have. But I want to spend my life around people who have exchanged that exhausting pursuit with the fulfillment of a life of servingSupport the show

CK and Uncle Bill haven't talked a lot about Tales From The Crypt...until NOW! The entire show is a rundown of the history of the comics, the movies, the tv show and beyond. Don't miss it Kiddies!!
This is it, folks! The episode you've all been waiting for….our birth story! Matthew and I sit down (in bed, as always) with our first guest - less than a week old baby Maya. She lies quietly (for the most part, you might hear some coos and little grunts in the background at times) on Matthew's chest while we recount the story of our home birth, while it's still fresh in our minds. We take you from the beginning of the birthing waves (contractions) when they started late Saturday night, all the way to delivery. It just so happens that the night it all started was a special date night, and one that we're sure to remember forever. I purchased tickets to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performing music by the famous composer John Williams earlier in the year as a Father's Day present for Matthew. Its date being a precarious one (close to our due date), we weren't sure if we'd end up going. Turns out that Maya must've known, and was waiting for us to have this special time together before her arrival. It would be a couple of hours and attempts to sleep the discomfort off that I would realize I was in active labor. I spent this time in our bathtub, listening to Hypnobabies while Matthew sat with me, made me a PB&J and kept me hydrated. Over the next few hours our birth team, which included a midwife and 2 apprentices, as well as 5 close family members, arrived and assumed their roles of supporting myself and Matthew. I labored for the majority of the time in the giant kiddie blow up pool and eventually delivered on what the midwives refer to as the “birthing stool.” I won't give all the fun details away. You'll hear all of that in the episode. But let's just say it was intense, intimate, spiritual and magical. The whole event was 12 hours total, exactly the amount of time I envisioned when I mentally planned the birth experience. There were a lot of tears, a fair amount of blood, some laughs and so much love. So join us from our bedroom - where we made our baby, birthed her and are now hanging out with her and talking about the whole darn thing.
