Lured Up Podcast 322 Record Date - 10/2/24 Publish Date - 10/6/24 While we are used to Niantic's insane event pacing, it is always a good thing when there is excitement from week to week. The events lately have been bringing a lot of value to Trainers by offering a variety of things to do. Raid hours have been drawing good crowds for weeks and the events have been motivating people to get outside. The Wild Area has been detailed and this looks to be a new staple ingredient in Niantic's IRL event roster. With the theme of focusing on specific Pokémon types, if opens the door for recurring events with rotating types. A two day global event also makes this exciting for Trainers that don't plan on attending the in person event. Plenty to do, new Pokémon, new Shinies, new excitement. Zamazenta is replacing its partner Zacian in 5 Star Raids this week. Paired with Falinks Max Battles, there are plenty of reasons to get outside with a group to play. With the difficulty that Falinks is bringing, some Trainers are surprised and turned off. It opens up a discussion of how this game calls for in person group play as an integral part of a successful experience. Giovanni is also heading back, this time with Shadow Heatran. The ability to TM away Frustration comes at a good time as things are still being shaken out from the PvE updates. Paired with the next PokéCoin Bounty and Mega Mawile Raid Day, this October is shaping up to be packed, and we don't even know what the Halloween Event will bring us! s1e45 "Legendary Heroes (part 3)" Can the Dark Magician fly? Can Kuriboh get a hug? Can Kaiba bring himself to say the words "thank you"? And can Yugi do taxes? All these questions and more we (& special guest Eli) will ask, if not necessarily answer, as we finish the Legendary Heroes mini-arc. Plus a wide smattering of media recommendations and a lot of shipping talk sparked by our guessing game. SHOW NOTES: - Our guest was @adrawer4ever! - !!Spoiler Warning!!: Near the very end of this ep, from around 1:03:40 - 1:05:00, we talked about some stuff that happens in the upcoming season in a way that is probably too spoilery if you haven't seen it. If you don't know what Marik's general deal is and don't want to know, skip that bit. - Want to hear Ellie talk about Sailor Moon on a different podcast? Check out the July 26th episode of Gays Gaze! - It was a bit hard to hear so I'll reiterate that the name of the BL anime Eli recommended is Sasaki & Miyano.
The recently concluded trial of Amber Heard v Johnny Depp, hit close to my heart as I am a man who has been in a former victim of IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), and someone who was falsely accused intention. I felt it was important tie tie trial to the story of Naofumi Iwatani, the MC of Rising of the Shield Hero, as he was also intentionally falsely accused by the main antagonist of the series Malty S Melromarc. Hyushi-sama, Jordan, and myself recount or experiences of either being taken advantage of or abuse, and tie these experiences to those of Johnny Depp, and Naofumi. As we feel there needs to be greater awareness to men who have either been falsely mistreated during the heights of the #MeToo movement, and men who have been victims of abuse in heteronormative relationships. This was my most important episode thus far, as I delve into many of my experiences with women, including family members, over the course of my life. In addition, my own observations about men and society, and how we see women in society. I Hope you all enjoy this episode. We're talking about Moses in the sixth instalment of our Legendary series. Moses was the leader of the Israelites and the lawgiver to whom the authorship, or acquisition from heaven, was given. He is regarded as the most significant prophet in Judaism and one of the most important prophets in Christianity. God has a plan. We have a response. We'll spend most of the episode discussing our reaction to God's plan. What does that imply? How should we react when we perceive God's plan? Even if we disagree with or don't understand the plan, how do we respond? But, he does not provide you with a strategy that guarantees that everything will go as planned. We are required to respond. We have a responsibility that we must fulfil. We must take the necessary steps. 00:00 Introduction 1:26 Today's hero: Moses (Exodus 14) 2:43 God has a plan: Jason's story of how he met his wife 6:38 Contextualizing the book of Exodus 8:44 Reading Exodus Chapter 14 10:43 Today's Prayer 11:45 First point from the story: God has a plan 17:05 A story of God's plan and the importance of knowing that before the crisis 23:35 Moses' responses to God's plan 24:44 Fear not 26:07 Stand firm 29:13 Salvation is on its way 33:16 Go for it 39:23 What does Moses story teach us Connect with Echo Church: Website: https://www.echochurchoc.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echochurchoc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echochurchoc
In the fifth instalment of our Legendary series, we'll discuss Abraham, his faith, and his faults. Abraham is held in high regard as the prophet to whom God decided to reveal himself and with whom God established a covenant. Abraham is lauded for his constant confidence in God, which is related to the notion of covenant of grace partakers being those who display faith in Christ's salvation power. He is regarded as the founder of three main world faiths, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. He was well-known for his journey of trust in God, not just his faith in God. When put to the test, he was prepared to obey God even if it meant giving up his own kid. Abraham did not always act in God's best interests. We're going to look at two stories today, and in both instances, you may sympathise with what Abraham did, even if it was incorrect, a mistake, or a lack of trust. 00:00 Introduction 1:20 The heroes of the Old Testament were flawed and insecure, just like us 5:18 Today's Hero: Abraham, his faith, and his mistakes 7:59 Today's Prayer 9:08 First story: God calls Abraham to leave 15:31 Discussing Abraham's wrong choice of lying 17:31 Second story: Abraham and the servant 21:42 Reflecting on trusting God even when we don't understand our roles 24:01 What can we take from Abraham's stories for our lives 24:21 First lesson: it's OK to not have all the answers 29:02 Second lesson: Seek God's best 31:52 Third lesson: God is bigger, no matter how far from him we get 33:25 Final story: Abraham's sacrifice (Genesis 22) Connect with Echo Church: Website: https://www.echochurchoc.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echochurchoc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echochurchoc
We have a bit of a shorter episode this week because while we did get a set of Special Heroes it was so close to recording time we decided to hold off until next week. We cover the remixed Legendary Heroes and finish off Fire Emblem Warriors this week as well as the new figure coming out in the future.
When most people read the Bible, especially the Old Testament, they see it as a collection of stories about heroes and villains. While that's true, and there are heroes who do incredible things from which we can learn, we quickly forget that whatever we see in them that is amazing, good, or worthy of imitation is just a reflection of the picture that we see in Christ. In fact, everything in the Old Testament, every character, every hero, everything, we perceive is a reflection of Christ's person. Courage will be the subject of part one of this four-part series. And we'll begin with Daniel Chapter 6. This story will be used to discuss the importance of cultivating a courageous mindset. A hero's courage is very valuable. However, Courage is not something you can summon at the drop of a hat. Courage develops throughout time as a result of a series of tiny, persistent choices. It's a pattern that you program into your heart. There was something going on long before in these hero's lives to give them the strength and courage that they needed to stand up to adversity and make the right decision. 00:00 Introduction 2:44 Excerpt from The Jesus Story Book Bible: A book of Heros 5:06 Daniel Chapter 6: Developing the habit of courage 9:48 Daniel 1:6 11:54 Daniel 4:6 15:18 Daniel 10:6 16:35 What's your instinct when you're faced with trouble? 25:36 Trust Equals Obedience 33:55 Practice being courageous 41:48 Closing prayer Connect with Echo Church: Website: https://www.echochurchoc.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echochurchoc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echochurchoc
In the previous episode, we began talking about a series called Legendary. It's a four-part series about the faith of Old Testament characters, discovering who they are, what they did, and what heroic sacrifices they made. These are regular people with ordinary gifts and characteristics who God chooses to use. This is uplifting because we are regular people who have the potential to be used by God. In this episode, we will look at the book of Esther. Esther's journey is unlike any other, and the monumental things she accomplishes impact the course of the Jewish people. And it's incredibly exciting and fascinating to see. Esther ascends to the throne of Persia and prevents a massacre against her people. The story is fundamental to the Jewish celebration of Purim, and it is recited aloud twice: once in the evening and again the next morning. The only books in the Hebrew Bible that do not mention God are Esther and Song of Songs. We'll look at why God's name isn't mentioned in the Bible and why God occasionally picks "nobodies" as heroes. 00:00 Introduction 2:36 The context behind the Book of Esther 7:15 Introducing the first three chapters of the Book of Esther 15:46 Reading chapter four of the Book of Esther 19:11 How the Jewish people were saved 26:23 First observation on the passage: God is always using the "nobodies" 35:02 Second observation: God is always sovereign 38:06 Third observation: God is always faithful 40:10 How the story of Esther foreshadows the story of Jesus Connect with Echo Church: Website: https://www.echochurchoc.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echochurchoc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echochurchoc
In the fourth and final instalment of our Legendary series, we visit the book of Joshua and study the story of the city of Jericho. The story demonstrates that God was on their side. Following Moses' death, God appointed Joshua, son of Nun, as the leader of the Israelites. Under the Lord's direction, they set out to conquer Canaan. Joshua felt unqualified to take over for Moses, but God vowed to be with him every step of the journey, just as he did for Moses. This same God is still with us now, guarding and guiding us. Joshua's deep confidence in God drove him to follow, regardless of how absurd God's demand was. Joshua also drew inspiration from the past, recalling God's amazing feats via Moses. In this episode we discuss God's promise, Instructions and presence in Jericho. And Israel's participation and God's faithfulness. 00:00 Introduction 1:12 Reading Jericho's story 4:20 Discussing Jericho's passage and its context 9:58 First observation from the passage: God's promise 11:51 Second observation: God's instructions 12:21 Third observation: God's presence 13:38 Fourth observation: Israel's participation and work 14:40 Fifth observation: Israel's waiting and faith 15:52 Sixth observation: God's faithfulness completed 17:44 What can we learn from Jericho's story today? This is the third instalment of our four-part Legendary series. We're studying Old Testament figures to see how they point to Christ and what we can learn from them. Noah, the Old Testament hero we're discussing today, built an ark and guided his family to safety. Noah was given the task of building an ark, and in accordance with God's orders, he placed into the ark male and female specimens of all the world's animal species, so that the stocks could be replenished. As a result, the entire surviving human race is said to be born from Noah's three sons. In this episode, we discuss Noah's faith in God and how it led him to act and walk with God. When God warned Noah about a flood he had not yet seen, Noah had unshakeable faith and godly terror and built an ark. 00:00 Introduction 1:11 Jason's cruise story 4:40 A brief synopsis and context of Noah's story 11:06 Reading Genesis chapter 11 verse 7 12:52 First observation from Noah's life: faith has a foundation 20:22 Second observation: faith has an evidence 27:20 Third observation: faith has a reward Connect with Echo Church: Website: https://www.echochurchoc.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/echochurchoc/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echochurchoc

When she was just a child, Elizabeth Locey often daydreamed looking up at the stars, and realized very early that this existence is the dream, and the reality is up there in the sky. To keep her parents happy, however, she ended up following the family tradition and became a award-winning professor of French and Women's Studies. She played by the rule book until one day, she took a sharp right turn and did the unthinkable…she dropped her tenure and quit her guaranteed-salary-for-life job. With one click of the “send” button, she went from being a socially sanctioned Wise Woman as an academic and scholar, to picking up her staff as a spiritual teacher/channel/healer, and has never looked back. Watch this interview for a fascinating conversation about the turning of the ages, the return of the legendary mythic heroes, and the path to fully embodying your sacred gifts here on Earth. More About Elizabeth Locey Elizabeth Locey is a Way-Shower, Oracle, and Crystal Priestess. She helps women and select men from around the world to overcome the obstacles they've placed in their path and embody their Mythic Greatness. A prominent entrepreneur recently said of Elizabeth: “as an Oracle, she shines when guiding people through their darkest fears into Love.” Indeed, the very first answer she received from her own Akashic Records in 2008 was “You are a Truth Teller with capital T's. And when you sing your Truth Song, imprisoned angels are set free.” If you are at a crossroads and looking for soul-driven answers, working in your Akashic Records with Elizabeth may be the perfect solution. Be warned: getting access to your Soul Truth, and healing fears + self-sabotage can become addictive! Her most recent work specializes in helping people to connect with and then EMBODY their Legendary Selves. This means letting go of all of the self-sabotage resulting from a not-good- enough story (probably at the origin it was a too-muchness story), and living your Mythic nature with no apologies and no excuses! This work is especially important for Lightworkers who feel they must apologize for their sacred gifts by not charging enough or hiding. This is not the lifetime in which you'll be killed for your using your divine gifts in public. It's the lifetime in which you've decided to come shift how consciousness is DONE on Planet Earth. It's the lifetime in which your mission is to help tip our world's energy frequency into LOVE at this turning of the Age. It's time for the Legendary Heroes and Heroines to awaken and pick up their sacred tools! With the release of the Spring Banner soon, I speculate who the next few Legendary Heroes might be, based on patterns and announcements made by IS. I also talk about how I'm going to proceed with this show in the future, thanks to some feedback I've received. With my Character Clash and Weapon Refinery Tier List project, I feel like I should include you, the listener, more in the development. So, I'm inviting you to be a part time Co-Host with me! We can have a healthy discussion about these characters and give them the analysis that they deserve, and so please reach out to me at fehology@gmail.com if you are interested in being on the show, or if you have any feedback, comments or suggestions for content, let me know as well. Thanks for listening! P.S. I wanted to change up the music to be a little different, so please enjoy that snippet of a Fire Emblem Medley by Imami Yuka/GODHER --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fehology/support

From the First World Problems Department, there were WAY too many games in February 2014!Editors Note: This is the first of two recent NFR episodes that have been stuck in the editing backlog. The other should be out within the next week or so.We're warning you up front: There's a lot of games up in this here episode, and the oldest one we cover is a little over six months old. Stephen opens the bidding in New Business with Level 5's rhythm comedy 3DS game Weapon De Omasse Shop, which will no doubt be on sale in an eShop near you shortly, then blasts away our expectations for Killzone Mercenary and finishes by Russian into the PS4 version of Strider. Although nobody asked for Donald's list, he takes Deus Ex: Human Revolution (WiiU) for a spin before tackling Bravely Default and recommending one character in particular for a good booting. To finish, Donald goes ape over Retro's greatest game ever [citation needed], Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropcial Freeze. Austen gets his inner vampire on with Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2, revisits his old friend Elle in The Last of Us: Left Behind, and takes Donald to trial for not playing enough Danganronpa. After a brisk visit to the forums for Now Posted, the group calls an audible to try and finish the show quickly so Stephen blasts through a considerable Whatcha Watchin' list that includes the following: The incredibly redundant Legend of Legendary Heroes, Kenchi: Mightiest Disicple, Kaze no Stigma, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, House of Cards (S2), The Lego Movie and an Olympic update. Donald shows off a wrestling show you DON'T want to end up on with Botchamania, and plays the role of Oracle of Delphox as a critical eye is cast upon the Mankeys in Twitch Plays Pokemon. Austen has a brief stop at Steins;Gate sequel Robotics;Notes, in which you can apparently build a walking mecha for US$10,000. Find out how on this podcast. Listener Mail had to be reduced for time considerations, but the crew does present advice to a listener in Germany who lacks console experience and wants to try Chrono Trigger, as well as looks at their history with PC gaming. Finally, the Mushrooms call out Nintendo, Spike Chunsoft, Sony and Namco and we dare you to guess which one ends up with the 1up from that group. We still want to hear from you, so send any feature ideas, feedback and fun to nintendofreeradio@gmail.com or leave it in the comments below. Also, Donald didn't completely ruin a recent episode of Radio Free Nintendo (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rfn/36690/episode-372-mystic-quest-is-not-okay) so be sure to listen to that when you're done if you haven't already!
