Are we sure these guys descended from the Imperial Fists? The post WH40k Book Club Episode #134 – Oaths of Damnation by Robbie MacNiven appeared first on WH40K Book Club.
On this month's episode we are joined by special guest host, epidemiologist and wargamer, Dr. Eric Lofgren! Eric was a presenter at the first ever Warhammer academic conference and he was kind enough to share his time with us discussing his presentation and talking about what that experience was like. His presentations were focused on Horus Heresy specific events and was a fascinating guest. You also get to hear three grown men excitedly discuss their favorite diseases. Somehow, we went an entire episode with a real life plague doctor and didn't make a single Nurgle reference! Eric stayed with us to discuss the upcoming Dark Mechanicum releases, shared some pro-tips on playing Imperial Fists as a Heresy army, and took part in our closing listener Q&A.Check out Eric's blog at Variance Hammer and follow him on Bluesky.Happy Halloween, don't die of plague!Logo Design by Nikol KingIntro and Outro Music by Skull CultistBackground music by Orthokeras with vox from Alia Synesthesia and Nicole TurnerAudio Production designed on the Forge world of the Vorpal Goat.

Unlike most Renegade Space Marines, who have devoted themselves to the Chaos gods, the Soul Drinkers despise the Ruinous Powers as much if not more than they hate the Imperium that cast them out. Instead, they have developed an ideology that states that the Imperium has betrayed everything the Emperor has stood for; so they still fight the powers of chaos even though they disagree with what the Imperium now stands for. Some within the Chapter think that the Imperium should be destroyed for the good of mankind.Support the show

And make your voices heard for which faction you would like to see next! -Isyander Everything below is for the omnissiah. But like, you can read it if you want. Just a synopsis of the video you're watching. Early History and FormationThe Celestial Lions were formed in the 38th Millennium, inheriting the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn from the Imperial Fists. Their early campaigns established them as disciplined and honorable warriors, committed to upholding the values of their progenitor Chapter.Conflict with the InquisitionThe Khattarn Insurrection marked a significant conflict in their history. The Celestial Lions openly criticized Inquisitor Apollyon for his brutal actions, including the extermination of all life on Khattar. This led to severe repercussions from the Inquisition, which viewed any challenge to their authority with extreme prejudice.Third War for ArmageddonDuring the Third War for Armageddon, the Celestial Lions faced devastating losses against the Ork hordes led by Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka. Despite their valiant efforts alongside other Imperial forces, their numbers were severely depleted, leaving the Chapter on the brink of extinction.Ekene Dubaku and the Great RiftAfter the Third War for Armageddon, Ekene Dubaku rose to prominence, seeking to rebuild the Chapter and restore their honor. Dubaku's leadership was crucial during the invasion of their homeworld, Elysium IX, by the Chaos warband Exilarchy following the opening of the Great Rift. Despite efforts to evacuate the population, the invasion resulted in significant losses, and Dubaku was eventually assassinated by a Callidus Assassin, an act believed to be orchestrated by the Inquisition.Cultural Significance and Rebuilding EffortsThe Celestial Lions emphasize storytelling and communal rituals, harboring a deep-seated hatred for Orks. After their near-destruction, they received aid from the Black Templars and other loyalist factions to rebuild. Their story is one of resilience and unwavering faith in the Emperor, inspiring other Imperial forces.Current StatusIn the current Warhammer 40,000 timeline, the Celestial Lions continue to fight valiantly for the Imperium. They have re-established some of their strength and remain committed to their duty despite their tragic past and reduced numbers—— ——TAGSWarhammer 40k, Celestial Lions, Space Marine Chapter, Imperial Fists, Ekene Dubaku, Third War for Armageddon, Khattarn Insurrection, Inquisition conflict, Great Rift, Chaos warband, Exilarchy, Elysium IX, Black Templars, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, Warhammer 40k lore, Warhammer 40k history, Space Marine battles, Warhammer 40k factions, Warhammer 40k campaigns, Space Marine culture, Warhammer 40k universe.————————————Opinions expressed in this video are solely those of Isyander & Koda and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Games Workshop Ltd.Artwork throughout this video is used for educational purposes. if you see your artwork and would like an art credit, message me.Support the Show.

And make your voices heard for which faction you would like to see next! -Isyander Everything below is for the omnissiah. But like, you can read it if you want. Just a synopsis of the video you're watching. The White Scars, led by their enigmatic Primarch Jaghatai Khan, stand as a testament to the unity of speed, ferocity, and a profound respect for tradition within the Warhammer 40K universe. Jaghatai Khan's upbringing on Chogoris, a world of rugged terrains and warrior nomads, deeply influenced his and his legion's ethos. His discovery by the Emperor and his pledge to unite the stars under one empire marked the beginning of the White Scars' legendary saga. The legion, initially known as the Star Hunters, was transformed under Jaghatai's leadership, embracing Chogorian culture and tactics that prioritized unparalleled speed and maneuverability in battle.Throughout the Great Crusade, the White Scars, known for their hit-and-run assaults, earned a fierce reputation. However, it was their actions during the Horus Heresy that truly defined their unwavering loyalty to the Emperor. Despite Horus's belief that Jaghatai would join his cause, the Khan chose to stay true to the Emperor, showcasing his profound integrity and dedication to his principles. This period was marked by significant trials for the White Scars, including being trapped by Warp Storms and engaging in a prolonged campaign of attrition against traitor forces, demonstrating their resilience and tactical ingenuity.Post-Heresy, the White Scars continued to honor their heritage while adapting to the changes brought about by the Codex Astartes. They played a pivotal role in the Great Scouring, purging the remnants of traitor forces across the galaxy. The legion's spirit and tactics remain a beacon of their Primarch's vision, emphasizing speed, honor, and the pursuit of freedom above all else. The relationship between Jaghatai Khan and his fellow Primarchs was complex, shaped by mutual respect, rivalry, and in some cases, outright conflict. His friendships with Horus and Magnus the Red stood in contrast to the disdain from others like Fulgrim, illustrating the diverse dynamics within the brotherhood of Primarchs. Jaghatai's legacy is not just in his martial prowess but also in his philosophical outlook, making him a figure of fascination and respect.TIMESTAMPS —— 0:00:00 Intro0:01:08 The rest of the Poll Options0:02:23 A quick aside on Trans-Human Dread White Scar Tactics0:06:57 How the White Scars differ from other Legions0:12:31 Their Origins0:24:07 Jaghatai arrives on scene0:37:08 The second most well rounded Marines0:41:16 How are they now?0:51:24 The White Scars and the Heresy1:02:32 Closing thoughts—————————— TAGSWhite Scars, Jaghatai Khan, Warhammer 40K, Chogoris, Great Crusade, Horus Heresy, Warp Storms, Alpha Legion, Prospero, Dark Eldar, Great Scouring, Webway, Primarchs, Codex Astartes, hit-and-run tactics, Imperial Truth, Guilliman, Lorgar, Nephilim, Kolarne Circle, Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, Siege of Terra, Macharian Crusade, Voldorius, Ullanor Crusade.————————————Opinions expressed in this video are solely those of Isyander & Koda and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Games Workshop Ltd.Support the show
https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousBattle Group Kallides was the first sent to investigate the worrying Silent Zone, only to be immediately set upon by its Necron custodians. Unable to evacuate through the doldrums of the Nexus-stilled warp, the Imperial Fists instead sought a way to request aid from the wider Imperium. Their gambit has paid off, and reinforcements are inbound – including Battlegroup Hephaestus, composed primarily of a large Adeptus Mechanicus fleet led by the Archmagos Belisarius Cawl. Perhaps predictably, rescue plans have taken a low priority in Cawl's stack of tasks. His cogitators are instead dominated by schemes for acquiring and processing vast quantities of noctilith – better known as blackstone – to manufacture his new liminal abraisers. These devices, he believes, will allow his fleets to precisely modulate the energies of the warp – grinding away at the strange xenos-crafted field dominating the Pariah Nexus.Unbeknownst to the self-proclaimed greatest mind of Mars, the Necrons have become embroiled in a civil war. Dynasties loyal to the Silent King are locked in combat with those who have aligned themselves with Imotekh the Stormlord – who has denounced the authority of the mute monarch.Support the show

This week I'm talking to Pete Harrison - the man behind the Pete The Wargamer youtube channel. As well as discussing Pete's prowess and success when it comes to making helpful hobby tutorials, we'll be talking though his life in Miniatures. We'll cover the allure of Bretonnians, a festive Greenskin, Pete's repeated heretical trolling of the Imperial Fists, and much more hobby history besides.
Dylan and Gavin are back to review the first 4 short stories of Shadows of Treachery. We talk about the Crimson Fist by John French, The Dark Prince by Graham McNeill, The Lightening Tower by Dan Abnett, and The Kaban Project by Graham McNeill. We break down how the Imperial Fists are as a legion, the philosophy of Rogal Dorn, how crazy Conrad Kurze is, and how much we really did not need this Mechanicum prequel. Enjoy the episode guys, cheers!
Dylan and Gavin sit down and preview Shadows of Treachery. We break down what you need to know about each story, and prepare yourselves for some Night Lords love, hear about the power of the Imperial Fists, top 5 Space Marines, and more. Enjoy the episode guys, cheers!

Welcome back to Explorator! In this new series, the AOTI40k team will be exploring aspects of the Warhammer 40k universe. The topic will be looked through the following three lenses; Lore, Modelling and Gaming. In this episode, Dan is joined by the one and only Chapter Master Valrak! Thus the loyalists were rendered incapable of mounting transports and depart, due to threat of their detection by the station and likely destruction. Instead, they called for reinforcement and waited. This response came in the form of hundreds of traitor warships and cruisers arriving at the Mandaville Point just out of system. As the face of death appeared to loom just above the horizon for the loyalists trapped on Brundisia Prime, the traitor fleet continued past the planet, on a course for Caliza, forgeworld of the Brundisia system. The Warmaster had several objectives in place for the system, and the halt of Imperial food supplies was but one. Hot on the tails of their treacherous brethren, a fleet emerged from the warp, headed by the stoic Iron Hands. In lieu of assisting the entrenched loyalists on the prime world, they headed straight for Caliza and the massive traitor fleet. The new loyalist forces attempted communications with the forgeworld, Caliza, to no avail. Hundreds of dead servitors and minor magi, the unfortunate casualties of the close quarters fighting and ship to ship interdiction actions, caused the already isolationist forgeworld to not accept hails from either force. Innocence truly was the first casualty of war. As both fleets engaged each other high in orbit above Caliza, the forgeworld's protectors and senior magi retreated deep underground to their inner sanctum. The sounds of droppods impacting and stormbirds screeching through atmosphere a prelude to the symphony of war about to unfold. What: 3 round 2500 point narrative event with room for 14 players. On today's cast we conclude our coverage of the imperial fists, sort of. We open with the conclusion of the Siege of Terra and how it wrecks Dorn. From there we go into the 2nd founding of the Imperial fists (Dorn was not about it), and dorns death (maybe). After that we spend time talking about the legacy of the Imperial Fists post Dorn and how they have preserved his legacy. From there we go into the Crimson Fists, their founding and their role as the Space Marine killers for the Lords of Terra and the inquisition. We then jump into the drama surrounding the sacking of their home world. We then close with the legend that is Sigismund, setting up our next cast on the Black Templar.Patreon:www.patreon.com/The40kLorecastOur Website:https://the40klorecast.com/Discord Link:Discord.gg/40klcAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
