Plus, the Left is very upset about our new sports comedy. We'll look at some of their reactions today. Three days of whining on the courthouse steps, a limited gag order and earning the ire of the judge was enough to send Trump running from a New York courthouse. In a bid to become “the most inclusive airline in the skies,” British Virgin Atlantic scrapped rules on Wednesday requiring its staff to wear gender-specific uniforms. This means male personnel may now wear red skirt suits to work. The company, which is owned by billionaire Richard Branson, announced that it would update its gender identity policies to “champion individuality,” enabling its employees to wear clothing that “expresses how they identify.” According to the airline's press release, personnel are now free to choose any company-approved uniform, “no matter their gender, gender identity or gender expression.” The uniforms have been created for Virgin by British designer Dame Vivienne Westwood. The updated policies also provide an option for both Virgin Atlantic staff and passengers to wear pronoun badges to make sure they are addressed with consideration for their gender identity. The airline's ticketing systems will also allow people with a gender-neutral marker in the passport to use ‘U' or ‘X' gender codes on their booking, as well as the gender-neutral title ‘Mx'. This feature, however, is available only in a handful of countries, including the US, India and Pakistan. In addition, Virgin Atlantic has updated its “trans inclusion policies,” entitling members of this community to time off for medical treatments related to gender transition, and allowing them to choose changing and shower facilities. The move, however, has been met with criticism by some members of the public who consider the decision to be controversial or even see it as “woke madness.” The amendment of Virgin Atlantic's policies comes after major US airlines agreed in July to update their systems by 2024 to enable clients to buy tickets with an “X” gender marker, which means the passenger considers themselves to be neither male nor female. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/world-voices/support

Major American low-cost airline JetBlue Airways is planning budget cuts for 2021 amid the pandemic. According to a company memo, JetBlue's top executives, who received pay cuts in 2020, will continue to have reduced salaries this year. The memo also stated that most employees will not receive any salary increase for the near future. The airline will also hold off on giving paid parental leave and adding Labor Day as a company holiday, which it originally planned to implement this year. Mike Elliot, a JetBlue executive, said that the company is in no position to offer any additional employee benefits for now. However, he assured employees that JetBlue will reconsider offering them in 2022. JetBlue's budget cuts come as many airlines continue to struggle financially due to a significant decline in demand for air travel. In 2020, the number of people booking flights in the country dropped by about 70% from the previous year. Elliot noted that 2021 might be the company's most challenging year yet. He expects JetBlue to lose billions of dollars in revenue, so he is encouraging every department in the company to reduce costs while improving efficiency. The company also announced the possibility of putting some of its employees on involuntary furloughs. A number of the airline's pilots might be asked to go on furlough from May, while other employees might be asked to do the same by October. Despite the company-wide budget cuts, some of the airline's programs and initiatives will remain unaffected. JetBlue will carry on with plans to add new aircraft into its fleet and include London on its route map. The company will also continue its JetBlue Scholars program, which sponsors its crewmembers' college educations.
