Send us a textGerman Riesling demystifies the often confusing terminologies found on labels by breaking down quality classifications based on ripeness levels at harvest and their relationship to final sweetness. We unpack the intricate world of German wine labels to help you navigate these complex yet incredibly rewarding wines.• German quality wine is ranked based on grape sugar levels at harvest, not final sweetness• Kabinett (11.5% potential alcohol) features citrus, green apple, and high acidity• Spätlese (13% potential alcohol) shows more ripeness with red apple and apricot notes• Auslese (14% potential alcohol) often includes some botrytis influence with marmalade character• Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese represent noble rot-affected and dried botrytis grapes• Eiswein (ice wine) offers concentrated sweetness without botrytis, yielding just 50 liters per ton• Alcohol level on the label indicates residual sugar – lower alcohol means more sweetness• VDP eagle symbol on bottles indicates membership in an elite producer group• Vineyard designations like "Grosses Gewächs" represent single-vineyard, high-quality wines• Wines with residual sugar provide perfect balance to high natural acidity• German Rieslings can age beautifully, developing complexity while maintaining freshnessNext week: Is Nebbiolo the next Sangiovese?

This week I take a fresh look at European Classification Systems, going into detail on the history of how and why they evolved, what the current EU scheme is based on, and what the major wine nations' systems are structured (and how they differ from what the EU would like them to look like!). I discuss: How Europe classified its wines to protect the names of specific products and link them to their place of origin, to the benefit of consumers and producers. A history of wine classifications from the monks in medieval Burgundy to the winemakers of Tokaj in the 1600s to Chianti, Port, and Bordeaux in the 1700s and 1800s. A detailed look at the evolution of the French classification system. I go through the steps that the French took to prevent fraud, protect the origin of their wines, and ultimately create the system off which the EU system is based. I address the EU system with its two main categories: -Wine without a geographic origin (table wine) -Wine with a geographic origin: Protected Geographical Indication (PGI): At least 85% of the grapes used have to come exclusively from the geographical area where the wine is actually made. These wines cover large areas, and a lot of grapes and winemaking methods are permitted. There is only a minor influence of place of origin Protected Designation of Origin (PDO): Every part of the production, processing and preparation process must take place in the specific region. Grapes have to come exclusively from the geographical area where the wine is made. Origin and terroir are essential to the identity of the wine. Then I review the major countries' classification categories France: Vin de France=Table wine IGP, indication géographique protégée (PGI) AOP=appellation d'origine protégée, often called AOC (contrôlée) (PDO) Italy: Vino=Table Wine IGP=indicazione geografica protetta, producers frequently use the old IGT = indicazione geografica tipica (PGI) DOC = denominazione di origine controllata (PDO) DOCG = denominazione di origine controllata e garantita (PDO) DOP = denominazione di origine protetta, the new name, conforming to the EU standard that includes DOC and DOCG. DOP is rarely used (PDO) Spain: Vino de España=Table wine IGP / VT = indicación geográfica protegida, usually called vino de la tierra (VT) (PGI) VC = vino de calidad con indicación geográfica (PDO) DO (DOP) = denominación de origen, sometimes called DOP (PDO) DOCa = denominación de origen calificada (PDO) VP = vino de pago (PDO) Germany Deutscher Wein =Table wine Landwein =PGI Qualitätswein (also called Qba from the 13 regions, PDO) Prädikatswein – Prädikat means special attribute and refers to the ripeness of the grapes and the type of harvest. Pradikat levels: Dry or sweet: Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese Sweet (expensive and rare): Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese, Eiswein Other terms: Trocken is dry, Halbtrocken is “Half Dry” or “Off-Dry, “Feinherb” is an unofficial term for off-dry wine The VDP is a German marketing organization that includes many of the country's top producers. Producers can use the VDP eagle and the VDP classifications WITH “Qualitätswein” or “Prädikatswein” · Gutswein: First wines of a wine year to be bottled and sold, Estate-grown grapes · Ortsweine: Village wines · Erste Lage: Premier Cru wine from first-class vineyards · Grosse Lage: Grand cru or highest quality German vineyards. Dry wines within this category are called Grosse Gewächs or GG Portugal (I don't discuss in the show because it follows the French/EU model) Vinho=Table Wine IGP = indicação geográfica protegida, often called vinho regional (PGI) DOP = denominação de origem protegida, still sometimes called DOC, denominação de origem controlada (PDO) _________________________________________________ Full show notes and all back episodes are on Patreon. Are we in the midst of a great awakening of humanity? That's what my guest today, Dr Moshe Daniel Block, believes. But why does that matter? It is because this is a time of hope. As each individual dives deeper into exploring their “I AM”, the spirit that flows within them, and comes to the profound realization that their life can be wondrous and full of abundance and health the power of this collective awakening grows and more and more people will realize there is great power within them to overcome anything, even so called incurable illnesses. Moshe Daniel Block, ND, VDP, HMC, VNMI got his degree of Naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Toronto, Ontario) in 2000 (ND). Dr Block then went on to complete the Homeopathic Master Clinician course with Louis Klein, FSHom, in 2003 (HMC). Dr. Moshe is the author of The Revolution of Naturopathic Medicine: Remaining True to Our Philosophy (2004), a book about the philosophy and practice of naturopathic medicine, and Holistic Counseling – Introducing the Vis Dialogue (2016), a book about the breakthrough healing method uniting the worlds of Mind-Body Medicine & Psychology. Dr. Moshe has deepened and evolved his breakthrough mind-body medicine technique (The Vis Dialogue) over 25 years of practice, helping thousands of patients achieve life-changing results. He began training doctors in 2012 and has since created his full certification program in Holistic Counseling to help practitioners be able to reproduce the amazing results he gets with the Vis Dialogue (VDP).Dr. Moshe has also specialized in helping people with myasthenia gravis in his practice – a rare, progressive, incurable, and potentially fatal auto-immune disease that he personally faced and overcame using the same medicine he now uses and teaches. Join us as we explore:How Dr Moshe's unique Vis Dialogue method has helped people reverse and cure chronic autoimmune diseases like myasthenia gravis and ulcerative colitis. Why the heart can perversely desire the consequences of diseaseThe belief systems that are common in “incurable” autoimmune diseases. Why the point of pain is the point of liberation and healing. Why spiritual health is too often ignored and the physical repercussions.Contact: Website - https://dr-moshe.comTraining - https://holistic-counseling.ca Mentions:Book - A Course In Miracles, https://acim.orgSupport the showFollow Steve's socials: Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube | Facebook | Twitter | TikTokSupport the show on Patreon:As much as we love doing it, there are costs involved and any contribution will allow us to keep going and keep finding the best guests in the world to share their health expertise with you. Wer eine Show will, soll ins Theater gehen. On l'a toujours souhaité. On l'a toujours souhaité.

"Joe", an inventor from down under, and innovator of the Joe Cell was/is a very special individual who was divinely inspired to build devices (cells) to experiment with water. Most noted was his "cell" integrated with the Internal Combustion Engine in which he introduced a new energy concept to generate power. Joe admonished that his inventions could not be understood within the context of conventional Atomic theory, and also required a knowledge of water as a conduit for informational fields. This, of course, challenged the sacred cows of "science", but also revealed God's elegant design that can be applied for the production of renewable energy, water purification systems, and even the healing of human biology. "We just haven't figured out how God works!" ~ Joe Moshe Daniel Block joins this Alfacast for an in-depth exploration of the science behind the Joe Cell, and to introduce our audience to his own technology as a further evolution of the original Joe Cell. Dr. Moshe Daniel Block, ND, VDP, HMC, VNMI, is a naturopathic doctor, author, and innovator in mind-body medicine who graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000. He created andteaches the Vis Dialogue, a transformative mind-body healing technique that has helped thousands achieve life-changing results, and offers a full certification program in Holistic Counseling (holistic-counseling.ca). Having overcome myasthenia gravis with the medicine he practices, Dr. Moshe also provides personal healing programs for chronic illness and emotional suffering (dr-moshe.com). Our discussion on Joe Cell science will necessarily take us down a few esoteric rabbit holes including Russellian science, Steiner anthroposophical concepts with a bit of Alchemical perspective to round out the mix. These seemingly diverse topics will figure prominently into the reality of "free energy" and the cessation of archaic one-way explosion technologies.

The employee retention credit (ERC) remains a hot topic as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has opened a new window for its voluntary disclosure program, allowing employers to withdraw their claims. While the IRS is processing and paying out refunds for the ERC, it has also introduced new conditions that seem to disqualify certain wages from eligibility. In response, some eligible employers are beginning to take legal action to compel the IRS to address their pending refund claims. In this episode, Tax Services Partner Brooks Nelson and Tax Director Sarah McGregor are joined by Partner and Tax Credits & Incentives Advisory Practice Leader Martin Karamon.
