I have found my people! Where to begin? I have been binge listening to your podcasts for the last couple of weeks, and you have made them. Finally I have found a group that thinks along the same lines as I do, and is not afraid to speak out about it! You have challenged me to, and I quote, "Do Better". As a result, I am currently half way through this month's Book Club, (FANTASTIC read, btw), and am looking into taking some shooting courses. I've heard about the Mapleseed one, that is fairly close to me. 1st opening ... October. As well, I have printed out the CPP challenge, and it is on my freezer in my garage....next to the beer fridge! 5 STAR review, men! INTRO Eric –Welcome to episode #27 of the Canadian Prepper Podcast, recorded June 26, 2019. My name is Eric, and I’m the host of the show. I am based in southern Ontario. I’m a hunter, target shooter, HAM radio operator (VE3EPN), and computer geek. I got into preparedness when I was working front line in emergency services and witnessed an over reliance on Emergency Services during major events, such has ice storms, power outages, etc. I started a small preparedness company to help get people prepared and able to look after themselves for at least 72 hours, if not longer. (Ian – My name is Ian. I’m not here right now; I have been overwhelmed by the sudden fame of being a massive internet celebrity. I have taken this week off to spend time with my emotional support alpacas.) Alan - I’m Alan, and my friends and family call me a safety nerd. My background as a Medical First Responder developed a mind for safety. I teach first aid and coach family and friends to be better prepared. I'm a locksmith by trade and have worked in the physical security industry for more than 20 years now. Hugues - Hello from Canada’s East Coast. I’m Hugues from Nova Scotia, I’m a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, Volunteer Firefighter and Station Chief, Volunteer Search & Rescue Tech and Prepper. I’ve been preaching and living the prepper lifestyle to varying degrees for the last 6 years or so, this was born out of necessity to ensure the short-term survival of my family which includes three young children. Owen - Live in Eastern Canada, background in homesteading, blacksmithing, general trades. Gavin - Business owner, CCFR Field Officer, Volunteer First Responder, Stop the bleed and Firearms instructor with Ragnarok Tactical and podcaster on the other CPP Guest Spot? Eric – We have some utilitarian content for you in this episode, We’re going to start off with some news articles relating to preparedness and the outdoors. Next we will be letting you know how we’ve improved our preparedness since our last episode. Then we’ll get into the main topic for this episode - our personal EDC gear. News - Owen - Alan - CPP guys- Eric - WHAT WE’VE DONE LATELY for preps Eric - Ian - Alan - Gavin - too busy traveling, but, I have tested my gear and upgraded my skills in my travels and took a week long tracking class Main Topic - Eric - Alright, it’s time to move onto the main topic of the show. (Each host insert talking points here) Ian - Cell phone, Pocket knife, flashlight, multi-tool, eyewear depending on the situation. Always a knife, if legal. I generally carry more on my periphery (suitcases, vehicles, quad, etc), than on my actual person. “Less” is More likely to be carried, but the periphery items ensure you still have what’s needed. Eric - Alan -my gear is layered. In my pockets I always have a zippo, a small folder (currently a little wee buck I picked up about 20 years ago at Canadian Tire for $5.99) and a small button-cell flashlight, bandana, car key, wallet and watch. Usually a pair of sunglasses and a ball cap nearby My lunch box (comes with me every day) has a CPR mask, pair of medical gloves, and a pencil case with a few goodies: multitool (Leatherman classic currently), headlamp, a few spare batteries, charger cords for usb and iPhone, some paracord, a few Band-Aids, a pair of nail clippers, and a lighter. There's also a needle and some silk thread, a little bit of velcro and small wrap of duct tape (both orange and gray) I have second pouch I don't normally keep with me but is usually in my computer bag. It has another folder, a Ferro rod and magnesium stick, a few razor blades (for fine work), a sharpening stone, a couple of water purification tabs, and more paracord On top of that is my car kit/get home back which we've already discussed on a previous episode. I've carried more things in the past but rarely find a need for more Gavin - Glasses, Cell phone, Pocket knife, multitool, pocket lockpick set, escape tools, mini IFAK on my ankle with TQ, Rolled Gauze, Gloves and a Fox Seal, plus my full trauma kit in my trunk along with my 72hr bag and a battery booster pack with air compressor and when possible while traveling in the US I carry my Glock 34 and a spare mag. PODCAST CHALLENGE Endeavor to start carrying two of what you consider to be the most useful items as a personal EDC….. (Or whatever you guys want) Episode Closing Upcoming events 2019 Annual Preppers Meet, Desboro, ON July 11-14 http://annualpreppersmeet.com/ Last call! July 6, Podcaster charity shoot. But I have a question, during some of the debate about parties a member said something along the lines of “that other useless party none of the above” I’m curious to know why they think that? And how they came to that conclusion? This week Tim, Gavin, and Andrew get together to talk about the decay of our society. Police officers shooting themselves, more figures being released about the 150 skating rink, and a corrupt cop catching a 12 year prison sentence. There is more Ontario election news, including more NPD shenanigans. The federal government buying the trans-mountain pipeline from Kinder Morgan. Plus tons of gun crime being committed in Toronto by criminals, not licensed gun owners, what a shock. For fun Andrew’s internet connection got wonky a couple times too. Thank you for tring to get the information out to the people. I listen to your confusion when it comes to government spending. I would refer you and your panel to Saul David Alinsky and his 8 controls for a socialist state, taking note of control number 3. His relationship with Hillary Clinton is also quite interesting. For more shits and giggles Google. " the tytler cycle" . So long fellas. Keep up the good work. You guys have given me much need sollice in knowing that I'm not the only angry Canadian in our glorious country and that there are others vocalizing and fighting the steady pace of the communism that spews from Shiny Ponies side of the isle. Keep up all you do, and if you're ever in Alberta (especially for an event) drop me a line, would love to hang out or go shooting. As for my quick question. Recently the Mounties have graced me with an extra serving of freedom in issuing my rPAL - before I get all gungho in buying anything I want to join either an NFA or CCFR. I'm wondering what the panels opinion is on which one (or both) that would be best to get. I'm leaning towards CCFR after hearing old shows that had Tracy on, but some of my friends are saying to go the NFA route. Thoughts? Much love and respect - Thom Outro Benny- http://bennylewis.ca Andrew - https://ragnaroktactical.ca/ Tim - http://facebook.com/timsgoodtshirts Visit us at www.canadianpatriotpodcast.com like us on Facebook at www.facebook.comcanadianpatriotpodcast We value your opinions so please visit www.canadianpatriotpodcast.com/feedback/ or email us at feedback@canadianpatriotpodcast.com and let us know what you think. and remember “You are the True North Strong and Free” Music used under Creative Commons licenses The last ones by Jahzzar http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Jahzzar/Smoke_Factory/The_last_ones Epic by Bensound http://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/epic
