The Texas Rangers whiffed on an opportunity to win the Silver Boot Series for the first time in nine seasons. Their playoff chances might've gone out the window with it. The Rangers were swept by the Houston Astros capped off by a 5-2 loss Wednesday night, to drop the season series against their in-state rival. And the Conquistador, a popular ride at Arlington's Six Flags Over Texas, is going away after more than 40 years. The ride was one of the cornerstones of the Spain section of the park, which has been closed since last year due to construction of a “record breaking dive coaster” slated to open in 2026. It was believed to have originated in southeast Asia and migrated east. The Persians were believed to have introduced it to the Greeks, where it later spread into Rome. Depicts of cockfighting decorated pottery and other artworks, showing it to be a normal part of life. Numerous sketches and painting depict cockfighting events in England in the 1700s and 1800s. The sport migrated to the US. Over the 20th century, cockfighting was outlawed in many countries but now all. In Colombia, Cuba, Haiti and others, cockfighting is considered part of the cultural heritage and identity. Although legal, many of these regulate the sport. Hace ya tiempo hablábamos de Leonor de Plantagenet, un personaje muy importante de la Edad Media, y también han pasado por el podcast dos de sus hijas: Berenguela y Urraca. Hoy nos visita la tercera, Leonor de Castilla, que acabaría siendo reina de Aragón por su matrimonio con Jaime I el Conquistador. Leonor de Plantagenet tuvo dos hijas más, Blanca y Constanza, de las que hablaremos más adelante.

El 7 de abril de 1556 murió Jerónimo de Alderete, un conquistador español (Adelantado). Fue nombrado gobernador de Chile por el Rey de España, el primero designado por la Corona, aunque murió en camino a asumir el cargo.

La misión de Cristo consistió en rescatarlo del poder de su gran adversario. El hombre se inclina por naturaleza a seguir las sugestiones de Satanás, y no puede resistir con éxito a un enemigo tan terrible, a menos que Cristo, el poderoso Conquistador, more en él, guíe sus deseos y lo fortalezca. Únicamente Dios puede limitar el poder de Satanás. Este va de aquí para allá por la Tierra, recorriéndola de un lado al otro. Ni por un solo instante está desprevenido, por temor a perder una oportunidad de destruir las almas. 20-year-old Shelbey Jean Thornburgh-Crocker last contacted her boyfriend at 8:40 PM via a text message saying “gud” on the evening of November 4th, 2015. The message was sent while she was meeting with a client. Roughly 90 minutes later, her body was discovered, naked atop the twin bed in her apartment at the Conquistador located at 7575 Bellaire Boulevard in Houston, Texas. Her throat had been slashed, deep enough to cut bone.  Police have honed in on an unidentified suspect on surveillance camera from the apartment building. The man–a white male wearing a light-colored long sleeved shirt, shorts and tennis shoes–entered the building at 8:34 PM and left at 8:57 PM. Law enforcement believe the man–between 5'11” and 6'1” and between 150 to 170 pounds–could be a serial killer.  Anyone with information on Shelbey Thornburgh's case is encouraged to contact Houston Crime stoppers at 713-222-TIPS that's 713-222-8477, you can also email the FBI at ViCap@leo.gov.
