“I realized we weren't going to do anything until I got to the point where my relationship with God was unconditional both ways; I didn't put conditions on Him, but He also didn't put conditions on me either.” - Mike Parsons With an incredible gift for unraveling religious beliefs, Mike Parsons leads us into a deeper understanding of God's unconditional love. We were created to be in relationship with Him and to encounter His love for eternity. This is the purest, most unadulterated definition of the gospel. Having experienced a traditional church background with very little gauge for God's true nature, Mike eventually started encountering God in a more personal, intimate way, ultimately having daily encounters with Him and learning what true sonship looks like with Him. Having deconstructed and rewired his beliefs about God over many years, Mike explains that many people believe that God is angry at us or needs to be appeased in some way. But the reality is that He is faithful, trustworthy, and kind because He is Love, Himself. It's His unchanging nature. The more we engage with Him, the more He will reveal His heart and true nature to us. And this love isn't reserved for just believers either; it's for each and every human being—those who don't know Him yet or who've done terrible things. God loves all His children equally, and Jesus died for each of them. When we choose to see the world from Heaven's perspective, we're able to see the light in everyone. We can engage with them from a place of unconditional love and inclusion. We don't need to change their behavior to belong; they already belong. God is not a God of punishment—He's a God of Love, and love in its purest form is completely and utterly unconditional. This is the passion of His heart: that we would know Him unconditionally and love each other unconditionally. This is the extraordinary experience of the gospel. His love is not something we need to earn but is given to us freely. Choose to receive His love today, and let your life be utterly transformed. Come to Him and rest in this truth. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
