How should we feeling about moving? On October 3rd, 2021, Illumine moved ministry centers. We began worship at the facility we've rented for 7 years, and then we drove a few miles away and finished worship at the new ministry center we closed on last week. So how should we feel about that? Psalm 84 & 1 Corinthians 3 shed some light.Texts: Psalm 84:1-2 & 1 Corinthians 3:16-17Date: October 3rd, 2021

In this episode of The Moving Mastery Podcast, Louis Massaro shares how your movers can make a great first impression for your customers when they arrive at a job. You'll learn: Why the movers' first impression is so important for your customers to feel calm and relaxed on moving day What you can do to make sure your movers are arriving to a job and making the customer feel at ease How to get more 5-star reviews by making a great first impression for your customers When your movers show up to a job, if the customer has an expectation of how that move is going to go, and it's not a good first impression, it could shift their entire perspective of your company that day. The customer is expecting professionalism. Because you sold them on a professional service, otherwise they would have not chosen your company they would've gone with somebody else, right? So, if when the movers show up, they don't experience that, and the expectation that they had is not met, it could start to develop into a problem move. The customer could already be thinking about the negative review that they're going to post online. In this video, I share how your movers can make a great first impression for your customers when they arrive at a job, and show you how to ensure that your customers are going to feel relaxed and at ease on moving day. If you've had movers that have complained that some customers are hovering over them, following them everywhere they go…. Chances are it's because the customer didn't sense and feel the professionalism from your crew when they showed up, and as a result, they don't have the confidence in your crew's ability to provide the service that you promised them. Make sure your movers are consistently showing the professionalism you want them to by watching Great First Impressions On Moving Day now! Go and download the last few episodes too! IN THIS EPISODE:I realized that Gunner's homecoming is coming up quickly, and so I implement "Operation Maria Get Hot." LOL I stepped on the scale for the first time in two months and was dismayed to see that I weighed 168. Only four months earlier, in July, I was at my healthiest and lowest weight of 145. But I wasn't discouraged. I knew what I had to do: sprinting, intermittent fasting, and nourishing my body. I also still struggled with the house and the foreclosure situation. Thanksgiving is two weeks away, and I had no idea whether I'd be staying or leaving. I hadn't even unpacked yet, and I wanted to put up a tree for Christmas. So spend a few minutes contemplating my options, which seemed pretty bleak -- especially given the time of year. But I do acknowledge that despite how grueling it would be to move again, I would not be upset if I had to find a new place.
Hey listeners! In the midst of all the chaos in our lives right now we were unfortunately unable to get a new episode recorded this week, and honestly how could we possibly follow up on last weeks amazing guest episode? Have we peaked? Who's to say?! But at the very least for this week that question will remain unanswered as we re-release another favorite past episode of ours about creating stories based on real world places we've traveled! Thanks again for your patience, and we hope to be back again next week with another new episode! Hello listeners and thanks for joining us again for another episode of World Forge! We are freshly back from a much needed vacation and wanted to take some time talking about how to look out for inspiration in your daily lives (or travels!) and try to build some interesting stories and places based on some of our favorite places we've traveled to! Our inspirations include our recent trip to Michigan's Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, a past trip to Washington State, the black sand beaches of Iceland, and a some other really exciting places we've been lucky enough to visit. After that we take a moment to talk about a really wonderful charity event we're fans of: Games Done Quick! This years Summer Games Done Quick event has just concluded, having raised over 2 million dollars for Doctor's Without Borders! This is an event that we've been closely involved with for years that we definitely want you to check out. Not only is it the largest fundraiser in the world for DWB, it's just a great time all around. Check out their twitch stream at twitch.tv/gamesdonequick for their live events, or their youtube channel youtube.com/c/gamesdonequick for all of their past content. On Day 2 of the Men’s NCAA Championships, we saw Ryan Hoffer become the second faster performer in history in the 50 freestyle behind only the great Caeleb Dressel. Cal took a lead big lead at the start of the night with some big swims in the 500 by Sean Grieshop and Zach Yeadon and in the 200 IM by Hugo Gonzalez and Carson Foster, but Texas wouldn’t go away quietly. Texas was able to finish the night strong with a 1-2 finish in diving and a 1st place finish in the 400 Medley Relay with the quartet of Staka, Corbeau, Jiang, and Krueger. This is setting up for a HUGE Day 3, or as some call it, “Moving Day.”
Sorry for the delay, folks. We had nice weather this week, and Gunner and I played outside every moment we could!IN THIS EPISODE:This one's a doozy. First I start off by talking about the power of positive thinking and affirmations, and how I use essential oils for aromatherapy. Ultimately, I believe in the power of prayer far more than I believer in the power of positive thinking, but regardless, the timing was perfect for a big order to finally land at work. Then I talk about a phone call I had with the central medical complaint department in Lansing, our state capitol (and where all the Michigan Department of Corrections offices are headquartered). The nice but not especially helpful gal on the phone told me that they want to try "alternative therapies" on Gunner first before approving him for surgery. This was super frustrating, because they hadn't actually tried ANY therapies yet on the poor guy, and he was suffering. Finally, I continue to butt heads with my butt head landlord who insisted I was still obligated to pay my rent, and that the tax foreclosure issue was none of my business. I consulted a few friends who gave me some helpful advice, and then talked to my landlord's father who lived nearby and was the local caretaker/liaison for the home. He'd stop by to pick up money for the electric bill and seemed completely oblivious to the foreclosure. I let him know his son was going to lose the house and a good tenant if things didn't get resolved quickly.
A lot of you are getting ready to move, sold your house (yay!) and have the moving company scheduled. Are you ready for the move? Let me share my experiences and how they can help you get ready for moving day. If you are moving to Moore County, NC and need help finding daycare for your kids, Partners for Children and Families is a great (and free) resource. They have a list of day cares and availability so you don't have to drive all around town figuring this out on your own. You can find them on www.moore4kids.com and on Facebook. And if you need help getting your house ready to sell, send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org and I would love to help you stage your home so you can get to moving day!
IN THIS EPISODE:I recorded this on my way to the airport, finally heading out for my work conference in Charleston. But I have a crazy story to tell. My landlord wanted me to mail my rent rather than send it electronically, and I was all out of checks. So I stopped at Walmart to pick up a money order. But somewhere along the way I lost it. My plan was to hang onto the rent in lieu of the news that the home is under foreclosure, but in case my landlord ended up paying the taxes and asked for the rent, I was screwed! The worst part was that I couldn't do anything about it because I was going to be gone all week. I was upset, devastated, and angry at myself. I just didn't know what to do.
IN THIS EPISODE:Well, the hits just keep on coming. Just as I get my first paycheck in the new place and pay off all the bills from the move and my old house, I come home from doing laundry to find a foreclosure notice on my new rental home. When I texted my landlord to find out what was going on, he went off on a rant about some back taxes owed because the county found out about a non-homestead status and told me to give them the finger. After consulting our friend Billy, I understood that I could be evicted when the home goes up for auction. As per usual, nothing is ever simple or easy in my life. Have a listen, and tell me what you would have done!

When a new first family sets foot inside of the White House on Inauguration Day they are walking into their new home for the next, usually, four to eight years. That means their furniture in the living, their pictures on the wall, their clothes in the closets. The only hitch is that the outgoing first family is supposed to feel at home up until the moment they leave the White House — also on inauguration day. What does that mean? Approximately six hours while the cat’s away to totally transform a 132-room mansion. The Washington Post’s Bonnie Berkowitz investigated this question a few years ago — she shares what she uncovered.
