Nick Gross, originally a musician who signed his first record deal at 17, founded Find Your Grind after realizing the transformative power of self-discovery and pursuing passions. Inspired by a graffiti message and his experiences running a recording studio, Gross launched Find Your Grind to help young people explore diverse, nontraditional career paths through engaging content, real-world experiences, and a curriculum blending self-discovery, career readiness, and 21st-century skills. Today, the platform uses lifestyle assessments and social-emotional learning tools to guide students in defining the life they want to live, emphasizing the importance of the journey over the destination and encouraging youth to start exploring without pressure to have everything figured out
In a recent fireside chat, founder Nick Gross sat down with Michelle Capasso and Peter Sukhoo, Assistant Principal and Career Development Teacher from New York, and highlighted how Find Your Grind is helping students explore passions, develop confidence, and prepare for life beyond the classroom. This conversation wasn't just theoretical. Cypress Hills Collegiate Preparatory School is putting these ideas into action with measurable success. Students have successfully completed Find Your Grind's 9-unit career development curriculum, aligning with CDOS (Career Development and Occupational Studies) standards for graduation. This initiative is about more than careers, it's about empowering students to shape their futures with purpose and clarity.
During a recent Fireside Chat, Brandon Langer, Director of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships from Pennsylvania, joined founder Nick Gross to dive into how Find Your Grind is transforming education. Together, they explored how the platform helps students align career choices with their dream lifestyles through self-awareness and adaptability. Brandon shared how Find Your Grind's personalized approach stands out and the pivotal role technology plays, from AI to micro-credentials, in preparing students for the future. These conversations remind us why guiding students toward exciting, purposeful futures is so important.

Although he found early success as a rapper, Travis Mills always liked the idea of being in a band. He grew up admiring blink-182, MxPx, and The Used. Early groups didn't work out for various reasons, and he found solo success with tracks like "Diemonds" and "Young & Stupid." In drummer Nick Gross, Mills found a musical partner with the drive to make their band a success. Together as girlfriends, the duo has embraced the music that shaped their youth. They enlisted producer John Feldmann, the Dr. Dre of pop punk, to complete their sound. Over two albums and an EP, they've created anthems that sound like artifacts of the early 2000s, rather than recreations of TRL rock. Their recent single "shut & kiss me" sounds like it could have been on the Road Trip soundtrack. It's the first new music for the band since the EP Over My Dead Body last May. This summer, girlfriends will join Avril Lavigne on her North American tour. Mills and Gross talk to Jordan Edwards about their experience with girlfriends, touring with Lavigne, and making music at The Noise Nest.

Joining me for an extra slice of Waffle this week is my new favourite pop-punk duo Travis Mills & Nick Gross from girlfriends! We have a waffle about all things music, self-expression, and their brand new EP, "Over My Dead Body"Before girlfriends formed, neither Travis nor Nick were strangers to creativity or community. You may recognise Travis from his brilliant Apple Music show or from MTV's 'Help, I'm in a Secret Relationship'. Nick is also well known for playing in a major label rock band before founding Gross Labs and for his inspiring work as the founder of Find your Grind! Both guys are equally enthusiastic about having another go at the style of caffeinated pop-punk that first shaped them! From the first listen of the new EP I instantly felt nostalgic; the songs are meant to be played live and loud! The group's music really is a vehicle for self-expression and catharsis, a means to process grief, uncertainty, and renewed vigour for life, destined to connect with others who struggle.Fresh off a tour with the absolute legend Avril Lavigne, we dive into the songs that have soundtracked their journey and hear some incredible advice on how to take care of yourself!I really hope you enjoy the episode and go stream 'Over My Dead Body' It's a belter! Welcome to this weeks Drum Channel Podcast with host Billy Amendola and his guest Nick Gross. Nick is a co-founder, along with his partner Travis Mills as part of the duo's band Girlfriends. They are currently touring to promote their latest album, “(e)motion sickness,” as well as the bands previous self-titled debut album. (Which accumulated over thirty million streams) Not only a leading band member, besides drums and production, Nick co-writes and plays just about every instrument on the record. Starting at a very young age and inspired by Travis Barker (who appears on a song from the duo's debut), Gross has done it all in the music business from both sides of the glass. Nick runs his own studio-complex Noise Nest and in 2018 became a partner and owner of Big Noise Records along with former Vagrant Records head Joh Cohen and frontman and superstar producer John Feldmann (Felde started the bands Goldfinger and the Used, as well as producing Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne, 5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low and more). Gross is one of the busiest and successful musicians/ entrepreneurs in the business. Let's listen in for Nick's words of wisdom as he takes us from the studio, to stage to behind the scenes of running a label and more.

Mark talks vinyl and hunts down new music to enjoy, with music podcaster Elliott Farrar. Elliott's picks In order of discussion: Weird!, by Yungblud Elliott picked Yungblud's second studio album for the way the artist's message of “you do you” bleeds through. Girlfriends, by Girlfriends Pop punk is back, in the form of Travis Mills and Nick Gross' project, which may have a limited shelf-life, given Mills' busy career. Grime MC, by Joe Actually released right at the end of 2019 – but near-as-dammit to 2020 – Grime MC makes Elliott's list for its interesting release, but its honesty and authenticity. Fake it Flowers, by Beabadoobee This debut album by Filipino-Brit Beabadoobee makes Elliott's list for its soulful sound, undercut by rougher guitar riffs. Foolish Loving Spaces, by Blossoms Elliott's final pick was a toss-up between a few contenders, but Blossoms' 2020 album could not be permitted to slip through the net. Mark's picks In order of discussion: RTJ4, by Run the Jewels Mark didn't know people still made hip-hop like this, and was instantly up for the dirty beats and the smart lyrics. Women in Music Pt III, by Haim Mark likes to be taken by surprise, so the variation of songs in Haim's latest album made this an easy second pick. Letter to You, by Bruce Springsteen Mark wanted the Boss for his list, which took him rather by surprise (Mark that is, Bruce doesn't know about the podcast). Turns out the man's still kickin' it, and we must show respect. Saint Cloud, by Waxahatchee It's a lazy Sunday mid-morning, you've got a coffee in hand and you're sat on the sofa listening to some country-tinged indie rock. Shore, by Fleet Foxes Mark's final pick is a band he's enjoyed since 2008, although dropped off his radar a few years back. Shore has some tracks that feel like a return to that warm autumnal sound he enjoyed. Honourable mentions Working Men's Club (self-titled) Dream Nails (self-titled) More of Elliott Farrar Elliott is one half of the Scratched Record Podcast, which you can find in all your usual podcast places, and which brings indie music artists out of the shadows and into your ears every Tuesday.Special Guest: Elliott Farrar.Links: Samara Ginsberg on YouTube Wonderwall x Smalltown Boy, a mashup by Deco
If you want amazing results in your life and business, you’ve just struck gold! Nick Gross, known as The RV Fit Guy, reveals the extraordinary four-step process that shifted him from someone with zero confidence to a pioneering entrepreneur whose business has grown exponentially. It’s hard to imagine coming from a loving middle class family, having a decent job and being in a great relationship, only to have everything come crashing down. The night Nick and the love of his life were heading home on a Harley turned out to be the night his life changed. A non-serving choice led to him serving time after losing the woman he loved dearly. However, he realized that the accident could have killed him, too. He knew he survived for a reason and he was determined to make the most of the second chance he got. While he was behind bars, Nick had set goals he wanted to accomplish when he got out and that was his focus. He describes how he worked with host Ian Lobas to free himself from the prison of his mind and achieve the goals he had set and more. In a short time, he put in the work and with Ian’s coaching was able to change his programming. One of the major shifts was changing the way he viewed himself, recognizing that he made a non-serving choice but he didn’t set out to cause anyone harm. As a result of Ian’s four-step process, he was able to remove the mental blocks that were holding him back, and he found a path that is truly in alignment with him. Some topics they discussed include: 1:02:59 - How to have trust and faith in the process 1:07:59 - Why you need to set a date and work backwards to do the work on yourself and your business to hit the goals 1:10:04 - How to surrender and have patience, knowing that the universe will deliver 1:10:25 - The value of waiting for the universe to give you the green light. 1:13:11 - Everything happens for a reason 1:25:42 - Why it is important to share your vision with everyone 1:26:22 - Celebrate your wins and what you have done References and Links Mentioned: Email Nick for a free 14-day trial of the RV Fit Guy app at Nngross@yahoo.com RV Fit Guy website: https://rvfitguy.com/ Nick on Facebook - Nicholas Gross Nick on Instagram - @rvfitguy Want to reach out to us? Did you scope a career, focus on getting the skills, and hoped the lifestyle would work out? That's how we were taught, back in the day. Gung-ho drummer extraordinaire Nick Gross is upending what it means to build a career, by helping students (and older folk like me) determine what lifestyle they want, what strengths they have, and THEN what career might work. Welcome to a new way of thinking about your passion and your work. Why you should listen: How to check if your lifestyle, strengths, and careers are aligned (or how they could become so). Why the future belongs to the misfits, and why you want to be one. How to create communities that go beyond geographical location to a global bridge based on interests. We explore: How routines create a success mindset. Success is about enjoying the process and not just the destination (and how to overcome the struggles with that). How a kinaesthetic learning preference shaped his view and experience of the world. The biggest struggles are often a paradox: the hardest part of the day is getting going, and the hardest thing to do is slowing down.
Did you scope a career, focus on getting the skills, and hoped the lifestyle would work out? That’s how we were taught, back in the day. Gung-ho drummer extraordinaire Nick Gross is upending what it means to build a career, by helping students (and older folk like me) determine what lifestyle they want, what strengths they have, and THEN what career might work. Welcome to a new way of thinking about your passion and your work.
Today on the Venture Mentality podcast I interview Nick Gross. Nick is the founder of Gross Labs which consists of Big Noise Company (record label), Find Your Grind (an education company), and Team Rogue (an e sports company). He has been writing poetry and creating short stories since the age of 10. He is currently working on a novel with original poetry.
Nick works in the warehouse and much like most people cranking out the 9-5 job life needs a form of relaxation after the day. This is where his podcast comes in called "Level Die Podcast" which talks all about games, Movies and everything in between from reviews or just talking about it seeing it from his and his co-hosts perspective whether you are looking for a review or just want to hear some rants and ramblings this gives you all that and more. The world is changing with how far we go with technology now creating and opening new places in the world so with the growing culture of it all why dont we talk about?
The founders come together at Boulder, Colorado during the first stop of the Fall 2019 FYG U Fest to talk about Find Your Grind related news and what the future holds. Nick Gross, Luke “The Dingo” Trembeth, and Mike Smith, (missing Natasha Gross) sits down on a special, Season 1 finale episode of the Find Your Grind podcast to bring up important topics in education and why concentrating on culturally relevant programming and content sets Find Your Grind apart. They each express passion towards wanting students, young adults, and educators to experience the curriculum. Thank you to all our listeners and supporters so far! Check out the updated and FREE curriculum on findyourgrind.com.
Find Your Grind founders Nick Gross, Natasha Gross, Mike Smith and Luke "The Dingo" Trembath get together at the round table to discuss the origins of Find Your Grind and why they started the company. The founders offer insights, tools and tricks as to why the first 10% of the journey is the most important, and how you can get started on your own path this very moment.
Nick Gross is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He signed with a major recording label in his teens, was on a hit MTV show, and has worked with Ariana Grande. Nick chatted with Kelsey about helping students find their way, where drive comes from, and how social media inhibits self-discovery.
DMV model and actor Nick Gross sets his goals and goes after them. He’s not afraid to ask for what he wants either. Be sure to check out our conversation from this past week’s Picture Lock episode to get his backstory. This is a good after show for the hungry actor, but it applies to all indie filmmakers! Nick talks about how he uses social media to his advantage and what he’s learned he needs to do more of in the future. The after show is where I ask my guests two questions that cuts straight to great takeaways for how to improve the PR and marketing for your production and they throw one at me. Enjoy! What’s good folks!? I’ve got a packed show for you guys this week. The Middleburg Film Festival is going on this weekend and I talked w/ the founder and executive director, Sheila Johnson and Susan Koch, about what you can expect to see at one of my favorite fests! I talk with DMV actor Nick Gross about his career and how going after what he wants has helped him. I’ll post the after show segment I had with Nick in which he gave some great tips on how he addresses PR & Marketing with his career on Monday. Finally, I talk with the director of programming for the Washington West Film Festival, Ariel Lee. Ariel gave me the goods on what you can expect to see at the festival taking place in Reston next week. But first, friend of the show and Epic Film Guy, Bryan Loy, stops by to give his thoughts on Halloween, which hits theaters this weekend.
