‘I think this is a hand grand being dropped into a very fragile and fractured society that is there to cause division and mistrust.'Lord Marvin Rees and Maajid Nawaz debate Nick Timothy's statement that Islamic public prayer outside the Ministry of Defence is an 'act of dominion'. This starts an intense debate over whether public religious expressions are a natural part of a multicultural society or a political calculation designed to test cultural boundaries. Formers, faith perspectives, and political backgrounds go head-to-head on the fracturing state of modern integration. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The sermon centres on the vital necessity of collective, persistent prayer as modeled by the early church in Acts 1:14, emphasising that prayer is not optional but a commanded response to Christ's promise of the Holy Spirit. Drawing from Jonathan Edwards' call to extraordinary prayer and the prophetic vision of Zechariah 8:20–21, it underscores that God's people are to seek Him together, trusting in His promises for revival, spiritual renewal, and global mission. The message highlights the power of unified prayer—marked by humility, unity across differences, and the absence of judgment—as the foundation for spiritual vitality, warning that neglecting prayer leads to spiritual decline and a life of mediocrity. It affirms that while the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, the Spirit's empowering infilling and outpouring are sought through persistent, corporate intercession, which renews the church and fuels lasting revival. Ultimately, the sermon calls the church to embrace prayer not as a secondary activity but as the lifeblood of faith, the source of true power, and the pathway to God's promised transformation of individuals, communities, and nations.
- Boston gets cast as a symbol of blue-city insanity, spending public money on “trans period” programming and drag events for children while basic governance, taxes, and priorities keep getting worse. - New York is framed as culturally conquered and politically surrendered, with AOC publicly embracing Islamic symbolism while Mamdani projects power through overt religious and ideological theater. - Jill Biden is hammered as a ruthless enabler, privately fearing Joe Biden is having a stroke during the debate, then immediately shoving him back into public view and pretending everything is fine. - E. Jean Carroll is portrayed as the face of the anti-Trump lawfare machine, with the show arguing her case is built on fabrication, political funding, and media-assisted mythmaking. - The broader message is that Democrats keep nominating and empowering radicals — from Texas to Maine to Los Angeles — while expecting media spin to normalize ideas and people that voters increasingly see as absurd. Send us a textIs Canada on the verge of banning public prayer? A Catholic priest explains what's at stake for religious freedom, faith, and culture. As Quebec moves toward legislation restricting public prayer, Catholics are asking a serious question: can prayer be pushed out of public life?A proposed bill in Quebec would ban public prayer in streets, parks, and other public spaces. In this in-depth interview, Fr. Cristino offers a Catholic response to the growing push for radical secularism—explaining why this issue goes far beyond one province and why it matters for all Canadians. This conversation explores the religious freedom implications of banning public prayer and asks whether secularism has quietly become a replacement religion in modern society. Drawing on Catholic teaching, philosophy, and the history of Quebec, Fr. Cristino explains why faith cannot be confined to private spaces without serious consequences.KEY QUESTIONS ADDRESSED:– Is banning public prayer a violation of human rights and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms?– Can a government decide where and when prayer is allowed?– Does forcing religion into private spaces increase division and radicalization?– Why has Quebec moved from deep Catholic roots to hostility toward public faith?– What should faithful Catholics do when unjust laws are proposed? This video is essential viewing for anyone concerned about Catholic teaching on prayer, religious liberty in Canada, and the future of faith in public life.Support the showSupport this show and get all future episodes by email atwww.kenandjanelle.com
Today, Paul M. Neuberger grabs hold of a truth the world keeps trying to stuff in the closet—public prayer isn't polite, it's powerful. When believers bow their heads and call on Jesus in public, it shakes the enemy's grip, rattles the chains of fear, and stakes a flag for Christ where darkness wants dominion.Cost? It's guaranteed. Criticism, awkward silences, HR emails, pushback. But comfort isn't our mission—obedience is.Scripture says it best: “Am I now trying to win the approval of man, or of God?” (Galatians 1:10). Jesus is still Lord—boardroom to breakroom, lunch table to locker room.So the question remains: What will YOU do when the world says “sit down, stay silent”? Will you pray louder?Buckle up. This one's raw, real, and rooted in truth.Episode Highlights:02:03 - Culture did. And here's the uncomfortable truth that we're going to have to confront today. If prayer were powerless, no one would care whether you did it publicly or not. The resistance itself proves the power. So today, we're going to tear down the lies, expose the fear, confront the compromise, and reclaim. Prayer is what it's always been, a public declaration of dependence on God and defiance against darkness.10:13 - When prayer is removed from public life, faith slowly retreats from decision making, from culture, shaping from influence. Christians didn't stop believing in prayer. They stopped believing that it was worth being seen. And that's exactly where the enemy wants us. The pressure to keep faith private is rarely announced, rarely written down, and rarely enforced directly. That's what makes it so effective. It operates in side glances, awkward pauses, corporate language, and cultural assumptions that never have to be spoken out loud.30:33 - It says fear doesn't come from God and therefore does not have authority over you. Fear is a signal, not a command. The enemy wants believers to interpret fear as wisdom. Maybe this isn't the right moment. Maybe someone else should do it. Maybe silence is the loving thing. But fear dressed up as wisdom is still fear. And obedience delayed by fear is obedience denied.Connect with Paul M. NeubergerWebsite

Keep your prayers in your places of worship.” That is the message coming from the province of Québec. With their commitment to state-neutrality regarding religion, the government of Québec is looking to table a bill that will ban prayer in public places. What has led up to this move? How do we square secularism with the freedom of religion? Is religious pluralism a good thing? Can the State be neutral and, if so, how?Tune in this week as we discuss a topic that will be of interest not only to Canadians but to all who live under a liberal democracy.

Confessing Our Hope: The Podcast of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary
Thoughts on Public Prayer, authored by Samuel Miller, is a comprehensive treatise on the nature, history, and importance of public prayer, particularly within the Presbyterian tradition. Addressed to younger ministers and candidates for ministry, it explores the biblical foundations and historical practices of public prayer, contrasts extemporaneous prayer with liturgical forms, and emphasizes the need for both spiritual fervor and cultivated skill in leading congregational prayer. Miller argues that excellence in public prayer is vital for effective ministry and should be pursued with diligence, study, and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Lead pastor Josh Carstensen continues our Sermon on the Mount series.Similar to last week's topic of generosity, Jesus calls us to pray in secret. There are many ways we might subtly use prayer or spiritual practices to seek the approval of others, but ultimately this is a poor substitute for a genuine connection with God. Prayer starts with God and ends with us. If we can follow the model of prayer that Jesus gives us, we will have a much greater reward, found in an intimate and vulnerable place of dependence on the God who loves us deeply.Thank you for listening to this message from Northwest Hills Community Church in Corvallis, Oregon, on March 16, 2025, at 9:30am. James 5:12-20 encourages Christians to live with integrity and support one another. We are called to pray for each other, praise God in all circumstances, and pursue those who have strayed from the faith. Through these actions, we build a stronger, more compassionate community that reflects God's love and grace. Scripture: James 5: 12-20
Today we tackle the concept of 'Living Prayer.' We challenge the notion that prayer should be confined to specific times or be performative in nature. Our discussion delves into the idea of making prayer a continual part of one's life, transforming it from mere words into a state of being. Larry critiques public and perfunctory prayers, especially in social settings, and emphasize the importance of heartfelt, silent, and constant communication with God. The episode concludes with a unique challenge for listeners to practice two minutes of silence, encouraging a deeper, more reflective approach to prayer. 00:00 Introduction and Greetings 00:30 Discussing the Concept of God Talk 00:42 Exploring the Depth of Prayer 01:43 Personal Reflections on Prayer 02:17 Challenges and Misunderstandings of Prayer 02:57 Public Prayer and Personal Discomfort 04:09 The Value of Communal and Silent Prayer 06:45 Living a Life of Prayer 10:30 Conclusion and Challenge smarticlepodcast@gmail.com #prayer #prayerlife #praywithoutceasing #spiritual #faith #godtok #faithtalk #realfaith #smarticlepodcast #podcast #smarticle @dailymeditations @Smarticleshow @BDDoble @larryolson threads.net/@smarticleshow @brand.dobes The Center for Action and Contemplation The Smarticle Podcast

On October 3-4, churches around the world will be gathering for a Global Day of Prayer for Revival. In preparation for this event, Scott Brown and Jason Dohm, joined by special guest Jeffery Johnson, are encouraging Christians to highly value public prayer and to actively participate in it in their local church. And, in this podcast, they discuss nine practical rules for corporate prayer meetings. First, pray from the heart. Suppress self-consciousness and pray fervently and sincerely. Second, prepare to pray. Make a short list or mental outline ahead of time of your praises and petitions. Third, pray short, not long-winded prayers. Fourth, pray to God; don’t preach sermons to men. Fifth, pray Scripture. Sixth, pray with confidence in our Savior’s work and sovereignty, knowing that He lives to make intercession for us. Seventh, pray engagingly. Pray loud enough for others to hear. And, as others are praying, don’t daydream, but join in affirming their appeals, either through silent prayer or out loud with “Amens.” Eighth, pray the promises of God. And, ninth, pray in faith, knowing God delights in giving good gifts to His children.
