Everyone has a different path at New World Pictures, but Alan Toomayan may have had one of the strangest! From driving RVs on movie sets to working as a Production Assistant on New World's GRAND THEFT AUTO and driving Ron Howard around to moving into the editing room for SATURDAY THE 14TH and working with producer Julie Corman, Alan has done it all! Moving on from New World, Alan worked on THE HOWLING where he met director Paul Bartel and would work on Bartel's EATING RAOUL, THE LONGSHOT, NOT FOR PUBLICATION, SCENES FROM THE CLASS STRUGGLE IN BEVERLY HILLS and LUST IN THE DUST, which was released by the second ownership group of New World Pictures! Alan shares the behind-the-scenes stories of working with Bartel, even on the unfortunately cancelled EATING RAOUL sequel, BLAND AMBITION. We also get into Alan's work editing trailers for New World in the 1980s and why HELLRAISER has a special meaning to him. Thanks so much to Alan Toomayan for appearing on the show!! Check the calendar, maniacs! The gang is all here this week as we start a new theme, A Comedy Of Horrors, with the 1981 lampoon Saturday The 14th. While we break down this goofy flick, we also discuss other topics such as watching movies on half speed, Tin Pan Alley, and our opinions of the combination of chicken and peanut butter. Drop that Caramello and check out our Patreon! This month we play a little game Gregg cooked up called Pit Or Pass? Six songs have been selected, all cover songs by late 90s and early 00s nu-metal bands, and we decide whether we hit the pit if it's good or we check out the merch booth if it's bad. For as little as $2 a month you can get in on the action as well with bonus episodes, Discord privileges, livestreams, exclusive merchandise and more! Want more discussions on haunted houses? Welcome to Out of the Shadows, a series that dives into the world of (mostly) 80s horror movies. Join Chris Chavez and Jim Clark as they explore the best and worst of what made the 80s the golden age of horror. This week, Chris and Jim finish their run through the films of 1981 featured on In Search of Darkness II with the comedy horror spoof Saturday the 14th, which surprisingly (or not surprising at all) has nothing to do with the Friday the 13th franchise.
On our episode, Jamie is just delighted to sit and watch a comedic romp where the monsters look like cuddly puppets, Doug forgets the show 'Growing Pains' because of getting high off of nutmeg, and we have a lengthy discussions about the cots and benefits of an electric can opener. It's Monday, and you know what that means: we all cross our fingers and hope Apple Podcasts pulls its head out of its ass and delivers this week's episode to thousands of our adoring fans. Assuming it works as intended, this week you're gonna get a great show. Mike and JF are talking Kitchen Time, having a Footnotes Fight, and going Neil DeGrasse Tyson style on the goofs and screw-ups of classic slasher Friday the 13th. Plus, we thank America for all its opportunities, get paid to let a social media company spy on us, and finally talk (at great length, and with impressive detail) about AnimeTube, the Kickstarter that's pissing everyone off this week. This ep is so great that absolutely nothing could derail it, save for a malfunctioning RSS backend in the most popular podcasting app, which has no contact form or accountability whatsoever. Anyway, enjoy! Music for YKS is courtesy of Howell Dawdy, Craig Dickman, and Mark Brendle. Additional research by Zeke Golvin. YKS is edited by Producer Dan. Executive Producer lola butt.Coming up on this Friday's YKS Premium: Howell Dawdy! Our friend and resident thememaster returns to bullshit around, discuss his greatest podcasting triumph (me), and Name That Toon. This week's show is sponsored by Honey. It's free and saves you money. Ergo, if you don't use it, you are wasting money. That kind of makes a lot of sense. I'm glad I came up with it. If you'd like to be like ol' JF (or, uh, your personal hero, whoever that is...seems like it should be JF) and save on protein bars for your body or books for your brain, go to JoinHoney.com/yks and download the thing. YKS is also brought to you by BetterHelp. You know the score with these guys, and it's practically 100-0! They are really running it up. Probably because they're a convenient, affordable, and professional counseling service that's already helping millions of people. But go off I guess. For 10% off your first month, head on over to the website and sign up with our special link. Helps us, helps you. It just makes sense! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

About the Blood Sucking Geeks The Blood Sucking Geeks is made up of four childhood friends who grew up in shitty Crowley, Texas, where all they could do is watch horror movies and terrorize the townsfolk by stealing all their Christmas decorations. Today, the guys still watch horror movies (but don't steal any decorations anymore), and now they've made a podcast to chronicle all their tales.

What up, fam? It's lit up in here. We kick off today's episode with news about next year's Grave Plot Film Fest as well as a tirade about people wanting to mess with Halloween. In Real World Horror, we discuss the recent purchase of the real-life Conjuring house and its upcoming status as a tourist attraction. Speaking of remakes, we also discuss the new Blade coming from Marvel Studios and finally we weigh in on a monster movie coming courtesy of Rocky. After a very long hiatus, Phantom Zoned is back to discuss some horrible horrible movies. This week, we tackle Saturday the 14th Strikes Back. An 80's comedy horror spoof that...I honestly don't even know what to write here. It's bad. It's really bad. Just listen. Phantom Zoned is a weekly podcast where host Adrian Torres leads us on a voyage through the worst movies that cinema has to offer. If judged guilty of crimes against cinema, the film will be jettisoned into the Phantom Zone, an inescapable prison where they will remain for all eternity. Your host today is Count Brapula [WP] During a blackout you light a candle only to discover there's a spirit living in the candle's flame. The spirit is quite charming and offers sage advice, but they're very evasive when asked how they got trapped in the candle. They also REALLY want you to build them a bigger fire. https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/comments/725zr1/wp_during_a_blackout_you_light_a_candle_only_to/dng2qeh/ Written By /u/kinpsychosis Read by Katiedead __________ [WP] One by one, someone or something has been murdering the voices in your head. https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/comments/74efq7/wp_one_by_one_someone_or_something_has_been/dnxw3fg/ Written by yaq_ Read by BusyKat Check out more of the authors stuff at http://yaqzone.blogspot.com __________ [WP] You're a demon haunting an old home that's been abandoned for years.
