Two people had been taken into custody, Marseille prosecutor Dominique Laurens said, adding that the probe was targeting a "small part of the team" and that those in custody were part of the "close entourage of the main rider", without naming him. Arkea-Samsic's leader on the Tour was Colombian Quintana, twice a runner-up and also a Vuelta and Giro d'Italia champion. He finished 17th overall on this year's Tour. The French team confirmed that their hotel in Meribel was searched by the OCLAESP, the Central Office for the Fight against Environmental and Public Health Damage, after last Wednesday's 17th stage. Laurens said the search had resulted in the "discovery of many health products, including drugs and especially a method that can be qualified as doping". A source with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters that a "saline solution" and "injection material" were found. "The elements gathered during the search will need further investigation and analysis," Laurens said in a statement on Tuesday. Injection material can only be in possession of doctors as per the 'no needle policy' in place in cycling since 2011. Arkea-Samsic team manager Emmanuel Hubert said on Monday that the investigation did "not target the team or its staff directly". Quintana, who was allowed to continue working with his own doctor when he signed a three-year deal with Arkea-Samsic this year, later denied using any banned substances and said he had voluntarily answered investigators' questions with "a clear conscience". We are catching up with Siri after 3 years to talk about some of the advice she's sharing with her clients during this COVID experience. In this UCAN coaches panel a couple of months ago, Siri shared some advice on how to reframe this as an opportunity. Siri has amazing courage and leadership. She's really someone people feel like they can relate to and who she makes you feel relatable too. Through her athletic career there were many challenges and battles, yet none would be as challenging as battle and ultimate victory over leukemia. She is truly inspirational and wise. It was an interview that we did in 2017. We were a fairly new podcast back then and were really honored to have a World Cup Series winner in 2001 and 2002. One of the winningest Triathletes in Triathlon History and the Triathlete of the year in both 2001 and 2002. Not to mention her coaching credentials. Well this interview coming up we just recorded and a lot has happened since. Siri has overcome her greatest challenge in a battle with leukemia and her beautiful victory that you are about to hear. Bill, did you know that "Siri" is a Scandinavian female given name. It is a short form of Sigrid, of Old Norse origin, and literally meaning "beautiful victory". I want to title this show "Beautiful Victory". Post Interview Discussion Siri is just one of those people that is just so easy to talk to and makes you feel good. I'd love to introduce Morgan to Siri and Bek. Morgan is such an animal lover. I told her what Siri told us about pushing the deer off the road. Bill? He won the race and set a new course record. All on a few hours of sleep. What a legend. Alistair said “This year has been a tough year for professional athletes and the charitable sector so I’m going to donate half my prize money to the professional athletes who raced and didn’t win prize money today and the other half to the Brownlee Foundation. I feel lucky to be involved with the PTO and have been lucky to be well supported by the PTO this year.” What's New in the 303: Lookout Mountain Triathlon, a Record Broken and Good Day to Race The Lookout Mountain triathlon last weekend had many side stories, like most any race of any kind. With COVID and safety protocols and procedures, athletes were really racing themselves more than ever with the swim start of splitting a lane with another athlete and only 12 people on deck at a time really spreading the race out. There were minimal athletes on the road and trail passing each other. Transition was roomy and very little overlap took place. Bill? Recommend her book, "Surfacing". https://www.sirilindley.com/surfacing-book-options/ Our News is sponsored by Buddy Insurance. Robin started in Triathlon, back in 1987, when the sport was still in its infancy stage. Being a lover of the water, she had been swimming in college when her swim coach, an instrumental figure in her life, made the college swim team do a Triathlon. Running was her weak spot, and she wasn't sure she could even make the terrifying distance of 5k, but her coach took her out for a run one day and showed her that most of the barriers were only in her own mind and that she could accomplish far more than she believed she could. Now, 30+ years later, even after going through various life-events, Triathlon still remains a constant in Robin's life. The solitude and serenity of the long miles of training and racing along with the companionship of Triathlon where people support all of their fellow athletes is what keeps her coming back for more. Being in her fifties now she also appreciates that being a triathlete has kept her making healthy choices for many years. She hopes to follow her role models in the sport, like Sister Madonna Buder, and still be racing strong in her 80s and beyond! - ROBIN'S SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram - SUBSCRIBE, RATE & REVIEW: if you've enjoyed the show, it would mean a lot to us if you could leave the show a positive review on Apple Podcasts/iTunes. SHOW NOTES: Everyone was expecting her to announce her engagement; instead she announced that she was entering the convent. Began running at 48 and became a world-class athlete, completing in more than 300+ triathlons. "Running harmonizes mind, body and soul." These words, shared by a priest, inspired Sr. Buder to start running. "You have to run for 5 weeks before you get the runner's high." "The only way to not put my body through this [painful training] again is to keep going. From now on, my body is ready." She was in a Nike commercial; they call her "The Iron Nun." She ran in the 2013 Boston Marathon. At 24 miles in, her race ended as they deterred runners after the bombing. When you are met with opposition, it's something training you for the future to be strong. How do you view time? The only thing that doesn't change at all anymore is constant change. Everyday you wake up to a new day. Don't carry baggage from the past. What I love to do that really helps me is to watch children in the park. They run more than they walk! I just think in my mind, I'm that kid running! The Grace to Race, is Sr. Madonna Buder's book. SISTER MADONNA BUDER'S LIVE INSPIRED 7 1. What is the best book you’ve ever read? The Bible, even though I've never read the whole thing! 2. Tomorrow you discover your wealthy uncle shockingly dies at the age of 103; leaving you millions. What would you do with it? I'd have to employ someone to decide which worthy causes to give it to. 3. Your house is on fire, all living things and people are out. You have the opportunity to run in and grab one item. What would it be? My birth certificate. 4. You are sitting on a bench overlooking a gorgeous beach. You have the opportunity to have a long conversation with anyone living or dead. Who would it be? I'd go straight to the source, God Himself! The older I get the more questions I have, not answers. 5. What is the best advice you’ve ever received? From my grandfather, "If there is anything worth doing it is worth doing well." 6. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself at age 20? Always consult with your maker. 7. Kelly Ferrin is a gerontologist and longevity expert who is committed to educating the public about healthy aging. She was one of the first to receive a degree in the field from the esteemed University of Southern California's Andrus Gerontology Center and has spent her career of over 30 years studying retirement issues and sharing a new image of aging. Ferrin's extensive work in the financial industry has led her to develop an expertise regarding longevity's effect on retirement planning. She is a certified AARP retirement specialist, consultant, author, newspaper columnist and motivational speaker serving the senior market. She has been featured on radio and TV talk shows nationwide, including Oprah, Good Morning America and the Today Show. Ferrin seeks to motivate audiences with her unique perspective on how living long and living well is changing how we age and retire in America. On this episode of the podcast, Ferrin explores how we can change our mindset toward retirement and shares stories of what she calls super seniors who are “blowing the doors off the image of aging.” Key Interview Takeaways Mindset matters. Because all the studies on aging in our country (up until the last 25 years) have taken place in nursing homes, we tend to assign “retirement” a negative connotation. Ferrin contends that we must change our perspective and begin to associate aging with terms like healthy, active, working, traveling and volunteering. A Yale study found that people with a positive perspective toward retirement and aging were likely to live seven years longer, while those with a negative outlook were twice as likely to die of a heart attack. The best way to change people's thinking is by sharing anecdotes of people who see aging as an opportunity rather than a time of decline. Inspiring stories like that of Ironman triathlete Sister Madonna Buder can help change our outlook on getting older. Having a sense of purpose and keeping ourselves engaged are the secrets to living an extraordinary, long life. Retiring to something rather than from something is key in establishing that sense of purpose and facilitating living as opposed to simply existing. Volunteering to, i.e.: cuddle premature babies, gives retirees a meaningful responsibility and a reason to get up in the morning. Mindset, attitude, and beliefs drive behavior, so don't fear aging or try and fight it. Redefine it! What we cover: When you’re set to have tea with an 86-year-old nun, it’s a good idea to have things like cream, sugar, and perhaps crustless cucumber sandwiches on-hand. But of course, I did not. (#EpicFail) However, Sister Madonna Buder is not your typical 86-year-old nun. Dubbed the Iron Nun – as depicted in the recent Nike commercial that debuted during the 2016 Olympic Games – this force of nature has completed over 45 Ironman events, countless marathons, and more than 400 triathlons. As active and as energetic as any athlete a quarter her age, Sister Madonna chats with me about defying age, trying new things, and recalls with tremendous emotion the special relationship she shared with her grandparents as a young girl, and how she risked it all with her decision to join the convent. All told, this is a conversation that reveals the woman behind the legend; she’s likeable, endearing, engaging, and without a doubt, inspiring. #UnlimitedYouth
