Helga talks about Women in Leadership and why Iceland leads the world in this area.  She talks about the Services, Legal Framework and Culture change that has made Iceland Number One in this area. Previously, having been elected to the Reykjavik City Council she advocated for better services for women and children in different areas including Mental Health.  From her experiences there Helga decided to found KaraConnect, which is a SaaS Platform to enable Therapists to deliver services online to clients with full confidentiality as well as meeting GDPR requirements. She says: “During my time in politics & at the Department of Education in Iceland, I observed real difficulties in patients reaching therapy, due to geography, budgets and the high cost of therapists. This is why I started Kara – to enable any type of face to face therapy, both within clinics that want to scale, and within municipalities and companies. This not only allows patients to quickly and easily access the right kind of help they need but also increase the market that therapists can access.” Helga is a great advocate for what she does and is now expanding Kara from Iceland and into Ireland and eventually the UK. Her story is very compelling and shows how Helga and her team are making a difference and breaking new ground in an innovative way. Also, she plays out on a stunning piece of Icelandic music.   https://www.linkedin.com/in/th-helga-vigfusdottir-17022411/ https://www.karaconnect.com   Music Credit:  Ennio Morricone, Sigur Ros --- This Podcast is sponsored by Nettzer – Digital First Selling  - www.nettzer.com  During these times of Covid and falling Telco Sales -   Digital First Selling is the answer to new Customer Acquisition, increasing revenues and cost reduction If you are a Telco, an MVNO, or an eSIM provider we have the ideal Digital First Selling-as-a-Service solution for you. After another week of protests stemming from a white police officer shooting a black man, today's "Special Edition Saturday" shares the perspective of someone who knows what it's like to be both a police sergeant who patrols the streets and a mother who worries for her four black sons. Retired Sgt. Cheryl Dorsey is an acclaimed author of the autobiography, Black and Blue, and a 20-year veteran of the LAPD. Today, she shares her experience from within the third largest local law enforcement agency in the country, and she gives her thoughts on  recent calls to defund police. We know there's a lot of debate about some of these issues, and this is only one person's experience and opinion. We hope her perspective, as both a police expert and social justice advocate, will add to that ongoing conversation. Be sure to tune-in again each weekday (M-F) for our regular episodes to get quick, unbiased news roundups in 10 minutes!
