We interrupt your regularly scheduled Saturday to bring you an early episode of Beat of the Month! It's May 4th, so of course the special occasion is Star Wars Games! We've been playing Star Wars games all month long and The Beats crew has got quite the assortment of games to talk about. We've got a quartet of old school games from the Atari 2600 with Star Wars Arcade and Death Star Battle, all the way up to modern day with Jedi Survivor on PS5. We also talk a bit about some Star Wars adjacent games like Mass Effect 3 (OK, loose connection but hey - space is space). We round things out with a bit of Fallout the TV show and of course some Star Wars trivia. So instead of watching the original trilogy for the 50th time, join us for some Star Wars gaming goodness!
This episode we're jumping in our X-Wings and taking to the skies to look at Star Wars The Arcade Game (63) and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (52)!Does an arcade game from 1986 score as poorly as its 80's counterparts Pacman and Tetris? Can you play Knights of the Old Republic on a Steam Deck? Is Eddie recording in the middle of an active war zone? All these questions, and more are answered! We also discuss what's going on with the Metal Gear Solid collection and it's ever-shifting price-point!Enjoy! My guest today is Mathew Kumar, a video game designer, a writer, a zine creator and a podcast host. This is a very game heavy episode and Mathew's lifelong enthusiasm and passion for video games is incredibly infectious. We also hit on growing up playing games in Scotland, the forgotten treasures of the home computer scene, why he always wanted to be a videogame journalist, why he always has a Saturn ready to play, and the physical wonder of the joystick on a Neo Geo Pocket Colour, "What I do is I just try to take my hat and I turn it around, and it's like a switch that goes on."

We get into it with the only classic SEGA 32X game, Star Wars Arcade, we discuss our Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi ideas and as always, the latest Twin Galaxies Video Games World Records on Settle It On the Screen!
